Well Sunday started out with a sleep in until 7'ish for a change, after not sleeping well during the storm and its aftermath. It's just nice to have power back and I feel for those who are still in the dark especially those we know here in the county. We were able to save most of our frozen food as we kept the fridge doors closed and did find ice eventually to add to them, so now we have less than 3 weeks until we leave and its time to clean out the fridges for the long ride home on the 20th. It's good to hear that power has been restored to the Seminole house and that everything seems to be relatively in good shape. Many thanks to our son in law Tyler and his son Sam as well as Amy, who have checked on the place and did the after storm clean up.We along with Steve and Sheri headed to Cornerstone for church and while attendance was down it was mainly opened to those who needed to cleanup and recharge electronics as well as have one member do a talk on prayer as he is the noted prayer leader by the church leadership. Afterwards we headed into town and had a filling delicious lunch at the pizzeria.
We headed home and I spent the rest of the day on the couch watching the NFL and I must say saw some good games until around 5'ish when the Nymark's came and we played several rounds of the Monopoly card game which is a hoot and then one game of hand, knee and foot; well the gals caught up and its now even in scoring as we were well ahead 5-1 at one time in games. We lost on the final hand after catching up and being a head going into the last round. This game takes a couple hours to play. It was after 9 before we called it a night. We had skipped any supper except for some snacks while playing. We did get a little rain in the afternoon but nothing serious. It was mainly fog and overcast skies and the temps were mild. I wore shorts after church the rest of the day, but with a long sleeve sweater. I believe its supposed to drop down into the low 50's starting this week as Fall is officially here. I sure hope this storm brewing in the southern gulf is blow apart before strengthening and heading north; this area can no longer sustain any damage but I'm looking to purchase a generator this week just in case.
Well we have caught up on communications with family and friends and some we know who are devastated with property damage here in the mountains especially friends much further to the west as whole areas are wiped off the map; with many who are stranded as the roads are washed away. Our power company here was still restoring power along the road on our ride to church as many huge trees had wiped out the lines. Parts of the county was still without power near the church as we headed that way and of course we were so over joyed to receive ours late Saturday night. I haven't caught up on the world news but briefly, but did learn that Israel has taken out the leaders of the group of terrorist group called Hezbollah, kudos to Israel and now they need to wipe Iran off the map because they support them and Hamas and who are developing a nuclear bomb; thanks to the democrats and especially Obama, LATER
