Friday Morning Oct 21st

Well Thursday started out rather cool but by late afternoon it had warmed up enough for a pleasant hike out to the mailbox which is just about a mile each way with a couple steep hills. It felt great to get out of the cabin and get some real exercise, although I did get in my early morning solo hike to the top of the mountain while finishing up my morning quiet time with the Creator.

I did very little during the day as the cold wind made it just uncomfortable to be out and about until around 3'ish when we headed out. There was ice all over the truck and the roof of the cabin until after lunch despite it showing above freezing on the back porch thermometer. The wind kept it so cold. We even played some Kings on the Corner a card game with just the two of us. I have a few outside chores yet to do and I'm hoping it will warm up enough today Friday to be out side and get them done while every thing is dry. We cleaned up some leftovers for supper as well as used up some can goods as we eat down our freezers and pantry.

Not much to write about except I saw 5 deer on my early morning hike and almost every morning we now see the mom and her twins eating the grass in the backwoods yard. The twins have really grown over the summer and are nearly as large as their mother. We have checked on both the Withrow and the Nymark places and all are looking good. We did see Roddy and Bertie yesterday on top of the mountain and they are as well as can be expected, LATER
