Tuesday Morning August 16th

Well this month is half gone and we are now just half way with our stay here at the cabin and that summer is just about gone for another year. Monday saw us with some sunshine but mainly cloudy skies and some powerful rain storms. I got in some mid morning work before the rain and then we took a hike out to the mailbox as well before the rain shut us in for most of the afternoon and evening. We did get to piddle around in the veggie and flower beds at times through out the day. Nancy got some devastating news on her older brother Eric who coded a couple times and was shocked back into life during a medical procedure. He is stable at this time in the hospital in Michigan.

I started the day out much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my routines that start with some quiet moments with my LORD after posting this ramble. I finished up with my solo hike to the top of the mountain venting my concerns for this nation and why GOD hasn't fixed these issues of corruption and deceit among our politicians since this nation was founded upon his principles. Anyhow I saw the bright sunshine appearing on the other side of the mountain but on our side there was fog and cool temps. Not only did we have rain during the night but another heavy dew was dripping from the the tin roof top.

I received this package from Sprout Kurstedt who is a life time associate from Mountain Falls with a beautiful paper back book which turns out to be his autobiography. It huge and beautifully written and illustrated with many pictures of where my roots come from. I knew his folks intimately as well as his younger sister who we grew up together as early child hood friends until we were around 4 or 5. It's very interesting and filled with the many praises of GOD's miracles in his life. Anyhow I sat and read the first 50 pages with out ceasing and I was familiar with most of his events until he moved away for college. He is 7 years older than me and now lives on the east coast of Florida with his second wife after his first wife passed away from cancer. She is from South America and is a lovely much younger lady.

I fired up the weed whacker after our mid morning hike to the mailbox and a bite of lunch. I almost finished the entire yards when the rain came and did it ever rain with a half inch in about an hour. Later it cleared off and I was able to piddle around outside while Nancy did her thing in the kitchen. She boiled off the ham bone and made a delicious which we had for supper and enough to share with our "mountain mom" Helen. I settled into the Ray's vs Yankees game on the laptop and they won big in the Big Apple against the best team in baseball. It wasn't long until it was shower time and then some horizontal lab around close to 11, LATER
