Well Saturday was a busy work day that started out with 50 degree temps, yikes I had to wear a flannel for most of the morning and then by late afternoon it warmed up considerably as we took a long hike together. The skies were clear with bright sunshine for most of the day with an occasional cloud that chilled the air when the sun was covered. I think next week we are in for some summer temps.
I decided to cut down and old dead tree in the back woods yard which kept me busy for a couple hours after Nancy fixed a "mountain breakfast" of huckleberry pancakes with a banana in the batter, eggs and sausage yeow was that ever delicious and it held us the rest of the day until supper time when I pan fried a couple rib eye's medium to rare and with fresh asparagus and corn on the cob. Did we ever eat high on the hog for the day. Luckily I did take my non stop hike to the top of the mountain before all the eatin' began and it was plum cold. I had a good talk with GOD as I always do on the hike, thankful for another day and all my blessing and asking for some divine intervention for some we know who are hurting.
Nancy had a couple loads of laundry on the clothesline which was becoming a perfect day for drying clothes and bed linen's outside. I piddled around in the gardens loosening the pack clay soil after all the rain a day ago. I now have lettuces ready to harvest for the first time and the squashes and cucumbers are setting fruit as well. They aren't large enough to eat yet but should be by this coming weekend when Bobby and family arrive. Speaking of Bobby we face timed with him and the boys and they were so cute trying to kiss the screen. They are talking somewhat and making sounds of certain animals.
I saw where the Ray's are in a 3 game losing slump and are now losing their first place status. Well that was about it for the day after piddling around outside until dark. The night air started to chill as we pulled a few weeds and I transplanted some kale seedlings into the ground. I sure miss eating those super foods that are home grown, LATER
The long distance views are clear in the cool air.
