Well Sunday was a great day of worship which we did on line with first BridgePoint and then Calvary Chapel Chino Hills with a great speaker Jack Hibbs. Check him out as he speaks about the prophecies in the Bible and how we may be in the last days. I know we are if the radicals dem's get control of our gov't and it's looking as if they may have stolen this election thus far. I'm praying GOD will intervene and save this nation once again.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6'ish rollout to my cup of hot tea while I post this ramble and then spent some quiet moments with my Creator and Lord in humble thanksgiving and lifting several up for comfort and healing in this their hour of need. Most seem to be holding but I know a couple classmates who are suffering terribly and on deaths door. It seems my class of '64 is taking a big hit this year. I'm spared thus far and I'm so grateful I can still run, play and lead a some what normal life style at my age, oh well.
After watching two services I headed out to hand water the seedlings in pots and those just breaking the ground. Radishes and sugar peas are starting to show some color. Since I've been watering the garden daily I've noticed a few earth worms showing up after the long dry summer. The pole beans are adding leaves as well. The kale seedlings are large enough to move out of 6 packs and into small round container for a week or so before putting them into the ground. I'll need to set up my chicken wire fence as the squirrels have noticed the gardens are now free of the over grown grasses so they can now dig and look for buried acorns, but at the same time digging up my seedlings, oh well. If it's not deer eating down the seedlings at the cabin it's squirrels here in Florida.
We had a nice mountain breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast which held me until late evening except for a handful of peanuts and a glass of vino. We decided to have a salad with chicken strips for our supper after the Tracy's left. They brought down a frozen turkey they wanted to keep in our extra fridge to let it thaw for the next couple days. They stayed for close to an hour and we had a good visit. They seem to be getting excited about having their first grand child in January. Their lives will forever be changed.
I did break down and watched a couple football games during the afternoon and evening. I'm still not a fan of their politics and radical slogans painted on the end zones, but I do like the game as I played it for 5 years in high school. I hit the showers around 8'ish and turned on the late game in the bedroom and must have fallen asleep some where in the game as I missed seeing 4 touch downs, oh well, LATER
Nancy was in the kitchen most of the afternoon making these Buckeye cookies to give away. She will freeze several batches and then hand them out to neighbors, friends and the postman during that week. I actually ate one which was my first dessert here at home since being back from the cabin. I still have several pounds to go but I've dropped 5 or pounds and its staying off.
