Sunday Morning May 10th

Well Saturday was another bright sunshine blue sky day with high heat and humidity and by the afternoon you had to be inside the a/c. I spent the morning outside working in the gardens and yards; mowing , pulling weeds, clipping shrubs and doing away with old cucumber vines and huge egg plant stalks. The garden is just about gone except for some volunteer tomato plants which are head high and loaded with small green 'maters. The kale and collards are still making leaves and the lettuces I sowed from seeds are going to produce some edible leaves despite all of the heat. The grass is growing several inches each week and looking green with those couple rain days last week.

I started the day much the usual with 6 'sh roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All seem as well as can be expected. Ava Mae made some cinnamon buns from scratch and we each had one and shared a second. They were the tastiest buns ever and she did all of the mixing and baking on her own. I headed out shortly after breakfast to work outside until lunchtime.

We cleaned house as we are expecting both Amy and Bobby and kiddos for a mothers day supper. We are keeping it simple with burgers and brats, corn on the cob and salad and Nancy made two ice cream pies the old fashion way with crushed oreo cookies for the base or crust. She use to make those at church years ago when she prepared the fellowship meal on Wednesday evenings and they were always a hit.

We got invited up to the Botbyl's along with the Tracy's for an evening supper and then the best of 7 games in Sequence. Well for once the guys prevailed in a 4-1 slaughter and its been many a moon since we've even played the game let alone win. We headed home around 8 and then settled in until shower time. It was a busy fun day once again with some fine eatin' and company.

Three weeks from today(sun) we will be hopefully on the road for the cabin for at least until November. It will have been nearly 7 months since we were last there and I'm getting excited especially since Jake and Kaitlyn sawed down most of the large oaks surrounding the back woods yards. I'm anxious to get a garden in and to see how the grass does without all the shade from the big trees. I could never get a good stand of grass due to all the moss which thrived under the shade.

Well we will meet once again with another BridgePoint family along with the Botbyl's this morning for worship via on line. The Nymark's are awesome hosts and are very sweet folks whom we have got to know over this past year. They are the couple whom we are going to Alaska with next year since this summer's trip was cancelled due to the virus. We have such fun and great times of serving and worshiping together, LATER
