Well Saturday was a total fun day that saw us in the low 50's to start the day and it never made it out of the 60's with bright sunshine and a stiff breeze. A typical winter day here in central Florida. I did wear shorts to both picnic's at the park but lots of folks were dressed like it was cold outside and they were freezing. The stiff breeze made it feel even colder.
I started the day much the usual except for a near 7 rollout, since there was no pickle ball today; instead I stayed on the computer after my quiet time and the posting of this ramble. We were headed to the park around noon so I piddled outside hand watering and hoeing in the gardens until it was time to get ready and head out for the quarterly volunteer get together for BridgePoint. We had so much food as the meat was provided plus drinks that you couldn't taste it all. The shelter at the park was right on the water. We went back later around 4'ish for our Life Group get together which featured every one bring their meat and cook it on the grill plus lots of leftovers from the first picnic. There was no shortage of delicious dishes and after eating we played some corn hole until we had to leave around 6:30.
Nancy had to attend the play at Keswick called Cinderella with Amy and Ava at 7'ish so we cut short our get together. I did have two sets of folks come back just before dark for fresh harvested veggies of which I loaded up 4 bags of collard greens, beets, egg plants, Swiss chard, lettuces and kale. The garden is just producing so much I can not use it all. I'm finally getting a fruit on the one real tall egg plant which was kind of weird as the other egg plant was much shorter but was loaded with fruit, oh well. The new cucumber vines have blooms and the pole beans are sending out runners.
After Nancy left I watched some You Tube and finished the wilderness trip in the Yukon area of Alaska then hit the showers and watched the Lightning beat the Bruins in Boston. What a rough game with tons of brawls and hard hitting but the Lightning pulled out a win.
Well I was up at 4'ish which is now 5'ish to ride to the college on my bike for the load in for BridgePoint this morning. It was down right chilly with the northern breeze making it feel even colder. We will miss the service this morning but will watch it later as we attend a gymnastics competition for Annsley in St.Pete. This is a much smaller meet compared to the one at the Trop a couple weeks ago. Afterwards we will meet at our house for lunch and then again at Amy and Tyler as we celebrate both Nancy and Sam's birthdays with a family dinner. Bobby and Katie are bringing the boys out for their first trip to Seminole and our house, LATER
Standing around the grill at the park, playing some corn hole and the birthday cake for Sam that Nancy made or Sunday evening.
