Well its raining this morning(Sat) for a change which is greatly needed and has been lightly for most of the evening and night. Friday was another mostly over cast day with moderate temps that allowed myself and 3 others to spend 2 plus hours outside on the pickle ball courts during the morning. What a great work out and I left with a wet shirt and whupped.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator and Lord giving thanks and lifting up several by name. All seem well as can be expected as I make this post. I soon got ready around 7:30 to head out a little before 8 on my bike for the Rec. where I played inside for a couple sets until the flood gates opened with lots of players some decent but most were B players so 4 of us headed outside to play. It was a bit chilly but no wind or bright sunshine and the temps moderated quickly as we worked up a sweat with the great play. It's a different game outside with much longer rallies and lots of dinks and dunks. I prefer the outside game but I do like the power game inside as well when the heat and humidity is over powering.
I headed home to find Nancy at her Friday morning Bible class at SFBC so I worked in the gardens. I transplanted 30 some Bibb lettuce seedlings into the garden after spading up a couple areas that had once been growing other veggies and got it ready for the Bibb. I noticed some of the other lettuce seeds are showing some color as well as the radishes. I harvested the last of the radishes and got that ground ready for Bibb as well. I still have lots of Romaine heads to be used and then that soil will be ready for seedlings. The earthworms are plentiful and love the garden soil as I noticed lots of little wigglers when turning over the soil. I'm still waiting on the beans and beets to sprout and show some color. The cool temps are perfect for the leafy green veggies.
I harvested a few small cherry type tomatoes and they are just sweet to the palate but for some reason the vines are starting to die. I think the nematodes have reached the roots which will eventually suck them dry; oh well such is one of the draw backs of Florida gardening where the ground never freezes thus killing these microscopic worms that are know as "root knot". I finished the bay window seat with its final coat of stain/wax that matched the table top and chair seats. I now need to get some corner round to finish off the project. It turned out decent with the tools I had to work with but mainly Nancy loves it so that is the seal of approval. I gave all of my furniture building tools away years ago since I finished making most of the furniture for the cabin out of sod pallets and old fencing. I just kept a skill saw and a hand sander and these worked along with borrowing a chop saw from neighbor Dan.
We headed out after lunch to Pinellas Park to the Christian book store to pick up a book Nancy needs for her class and then gassed up at Sam's at 2.18 a gallon. The price changes almost daily around here and the last time it was 2.42, oh well. We are thrilled the senate voted to not let the house managers use this body to continue their sham impeachment of our duly elected Potus Trump. A couple of the rino's abandoned the party and voted with the dem's and I'm hoping patriotic Americans vote them out of office along with all of the dem's in November. Such a black mark on our democracy these "never trumpers" are while he is constantly working for the common folks of the nation. He is bringing back our jobs, making trade deals, policies that reduce regulations, tax breaks and being pro-life as well as honoring GOD and our Judeo Christian principles and mores; plus he has the terrorist nations who chant death to America under fire as well as knocking off major figures who instill terror to those they hate and do not like their ideology. I honestly believe Trump was ordained by GOD to save the nation against all odds with his election over the crooked Hillary and that is the reason the crooked dems hate him so.
We headed up to the Botbyl's around 5'ish for a supper of King Ranch chicken casserole and a fresh garden salad provided from our patch. Afterwards we played a couple games of spades and it was tied 1-1 when we decided to watch a couple videos; one was a great message from Tim Ross a guest speaker for Gateway Church and the other was a prophetic message from an unknown speaker who predicted Trump's victory and then again re-election after being impeached. He made these predictions in 2014 long before Trump he ran for office, Wow. We can only hope Trump wins again in November and cleans up the gov't corruption and puts America back at the top as a shining city on a hill that honors GOD for the rest of the world to emulate, LATER
