Sunday Morning..Oct 20th..our last Sunday at Cornerstone

Well Saturday was a bit nippy to start the day with high clouds which held the sunshine out except for brief periods. The rain held off until late afternoon but when it started, it lasted all night long and at times heavy down pours. The mini- split heat was awesome as we finally turned it on and took the portable heaters away and stored them until next year. We had to get a brief update on the remotes on how to work it was the main reason for waiting so long to use it, oh well. We are learning.

I started the day again with a 7'ish roll out as the chill and those warm flannel sheets kept me in the sack much later than usual. It was close to 7:30 when I stayed up for the day. It was in the high 30's but the lack of wind made it almost nice outside as I took my abbreviated morning hike before breakfast. I'm glad I got in one hike for the day as we weren't able to do our long together hike. Neighbors Gerald and Karyl came up around 2'ish and visited for an hour or so and then it was time to prepare a dish to take with us to the Tracy's around 5.

I did my usual morning routines that start with the cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time with my Creator giving thanks and lifting up several by name. Sister Dee called to check up on us and how things were in Seminole after the tornado which did some damage in the area but spared our street. She and Mike were attending the funeral for a first cousin who passed away last week and was four years younger than me. It was cold in their area and they had received frost already which we haven't here in the mountains as of yet. All was well with her family.

We piddled around the cabin doing little odd jobs as we get ready to really pack up next week. This tropical storm brought some much needed rain to the mountains  but put a damper on the Tracy's daughter and husband coming for several days. One of her best friends and fiancee came up from Charlotte for the weekend so we all got together for a delicious Mexican theme supper as Nancy made a Mexican rice dish to accompany enchiladas which were awesome as always. We stayed and visited until close to 8 then headed home in the light rain. I tuned into the MLB playoff game and the Astros were winning 4-2 when I called it a night around 11. I'll check the scores later to see if they eliminated the Yankees and head to the big games. LATER
