Sunday Morning..some light wind and rain this morning

Well Saturday was basically a wait and see if Florence was going to inundate the area. We saw a couple light showers but mainly it was cloudy but still rather warm. There wasn't much we could do except make sure we had plenty of water for drinking incase we lost power from a downed tree but thus far its been rather calm however this morning we are getting a steady light rain and some wind but nothing that should blow down any trees.

Most everything in Sparta cancelled last evening around 6'ish and the high Sheriff put out a message that all churches should cancel services this morning due to the rain and wind and for folks to stay home and off the roads. The less chance for a tree falling or flooding waters to cause havoc to motorists. We didn't do much except read, watch the tube and eat but I snuck in a quick hike alone to the top of the back trail in the morning and then down the side road and around 3'ish again with Nancy. We hiked down the drive and up the side road and then down our back trail. We never did go on top of the mountain as it did look like rain at any second but we went all evening with out any real rain.

I watched some college football until supper and then the Ray's on the internet afterwards. Nancy made a delicious pot of tortilla soup for supper. Amy was on the phone several times as they found out their a/c unit was shot and not worth repairing so they are staying at our Seminole place for the next several days. It seems all the rain they have been getting has caused the pesky ants to refuge in the house. Now Nancy is on the war path about them so it looks as if we will be getting a bug man, oh well. That's about all the news except for this slow moving storm which just needs to get out of here. I'm so surprised it such a slow mover and we are forecasted from anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of rain over the next day or so.

We will watch our Florida church service at Bridgepoint this morning then stay in once again as the rain is constant this morning. Hopefully we won't lose any power and thus able to watch TV and connect on the internet as well as make contact with the rest of the world, LATER
