Friday Morning

Well Thursday was an eventful day as it was the first for both of us visiting the Cleveland area and then a drive along Lake Erie which was mostly a pleasant drive. We did see some areas that were less than others but mostly the homes and small towns were immaculate with care and some were just audacious in size. The lake itself looks as large as the Gulf of Mexico and at times reminded us of the gulf with sandy beaches in several areas. We got to our second airbnb in as many days after encountering wet weather for the last hundred miles or so and the overcast skies are still around here as I write.

This second place is really nice once again with a beautiful 4 poster bed, thick carpet overlooking a pool with a private bath in the room. It is much more luxurious than our first one in the Cleveland area. We met the neighbor who let us in the house across the street as the owner was gone and who introduced us to her large pit bull dog who is so friendly and fat and mild mannered. We also met her son who still lives at home and does construction work. She is a Uber driver as well and has special clients she regularly drives. The home is in a great neighborhood and just off one of the main interstates.

It took us nearly and hour and half to go 20 miles to the rehearsal dinner due to the rain and heavy rush hour traffic but only about 1/3 of that time to get back last evening as the roads were nearly empty. We so enjoyed seeing several for the first time in years and some whom we have never seen since they were married and one with whom now has 3 babies. There were probably 40-50 folks for the dinner at a really nice Italian eatery called Valentino's in Lake Orion, Mi. All of these two lanes roads circumvent several lakes in the area which also adds to the travel time. The food was unbelievably delicious with your choice of the an entree. We had the chicken marsala that came with fresh broccoli and smashed taters; very plentiful with two breast and generous sides. A little vino flowed before eating as we visited with our side of the family and then again with the brides family.

Today Friday the wedding is at 4:30 with a full Catholic mass and the reception follows at a local country club with a banquet and festivities afterwards until midnight; oh well.

This morning we decided to look for a local eatery for breakfast and we found one that was still packed around 10'ish called Lulu's. Oh my what a feed which was so plentiful and delicious. We both had omelets and fried taters. So tasty and I had to help Nancy finish her meal it was so large. We won't eat again until 7 tonight when the banquet starts. Well we are about to head out for a walk through the hood and then I may take a swim before getting ready for the wedding. We have to leave here around 3'ish to make the church by 4:30, LATER
