Sunday Morning

Well Saturday was supposed to be a total rain day which turned out to be another awesome day with an occasional cloud but temps stayed down into the 70's with plenty of sunshine. It did pour up to a half inch in a couple of short bursts during the night but then it was a bit foggy and cloudy in the first hours of the morning but that was it.

I started the day with a little later roll out as we stayed up past my bedtime to play games. Everyone was up by 7:30 and doing their early morning catching up on their electronic devices as I was doing this ramble and then some quiet moments. We decided on a semi mountain breakfast with sausage, eggs, fresh fruit salad and toast for us while the Botbyl's are off bread. That held us until we had a late lunch at the Muddy Creek Cafe in Sparta around 2'ish. I had the "mountain caviar" which is a delicious pimento cheese  along with fresh celery and carrot sticks and pita bread. It was a generous serving and very tasty at 6 bucks. Nancy had a small salad and an order of sweet tater fries all of which was delicious.

We framed around in town visiting a couple shops which aren't many then met up with a realtor near the parkway to see a house that was having an open house with an in ground pool which is very unusual for the mountains. This house was a steal at 172 K but needed a little cosmetic work as its been empty for year. Just around the corner we saw another house which was 8 thousand sq ft. in size and the owner showed us around. All of which was quite an adventure in itself. The place was very huge almost to huge but there were dogs and cats in the house and the place was filthy and almost unsanitary. Needless to stay we did take the tour and learned it was for sale for 700 K on 3 acres.

Early in the morning we looked and a had a great visit with Joe and Evonne on top of the mountain so Dan and Carol could take a tour of their magnificent real log home. What a beauty it is and they are asking tax value at 320 thousand which is a steal in my opinion. There is a couple drawn back as the huge loft area(upstairs) is all open and would need to be divided into rooms but the completed basement is another apartment and the main floor is just beautiful and well maintained. They are teary in their decision to sell and hope whoever has as much love for the place as they do. Their views are awesome out both sides of the cabin and the ground are precisely maintained. They are in their 80's with a few health issues and only come up to mow and check on the cabin a couple times a month. It has always been my favorite cabin on top of the mountain and would make a great investment as well for an air BNB, oh well.

Well we got back to the cabin around 5'ish and rested a few either on the porches reading on on devices catching up. Bobby and Katie got home the day before and Amy and Family got home around 10:30 last evening. Thanks to all who kept them in your thoughts for safe travel. We heated up a huge pot of veggie beef soup Nancy made for the occasion and had a fresh garden salad to accompany. We got into a game of 12 rounds of dominos and then into a game of Kings on the Corner until after 10. We decided since it was church morning today we would hit the sack early so they headed upstairs and I took shower and was soon in the horizontal lab position. I did get in an early hike to the top while they road up to see the cabin on top so I did get in some exercise, LATER
