Well Monday was a mixture of play and work as I had a good workout at the rec. then came home to work in the garage and get ready for the new much needed garage door on Friday. It was another rather chilly day here in Florida especially for this time of the year but I shouldn't complain because most of our northern friends are experiencing freezing temps and some with snow flurries. I haven't heard much from the global warming group except for some weird comment that all this cold and snow is because of the warming of the earth. How ridiculous.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6'ish roll out to cool temps and the hot cup of green tea laced with turmeric was a welcome. I spent some quiet time with my Creator after posting this ramble then got ready for the cold windy ride out on my bike to the Rec. for two hours of pickle ball play. I was whupped by 10 o'clock and then had to fight the wind on the ride home. I did get a chance to speak with those who I had lifted up in prayer during my quiet time and all seems well. Most of them are up north and they too are experiencing the cold and snow.
The storm that came through on Sunday blew over several of my huge tomato plants and broke of some limbs of them and my jalapeno peppers. I had a couple nice green tomato's on the ground so I decided to grill them for our supper with some worchester sauce and parmesan cheese. I hadn't had them prepared that way in years and while they could have been a little more well done I thought the taste was o.k. Nancy wasn't thrilled with them. The dang fruit flies are a real pain this year as they ruin about 2 out of 3 ripening tomato's. I picked the last of the sugar peas as the wind blew the vines around and broke them off. The lettuces are about gone as well but the green peppers are starting to really produce with several on the plants I brought back from N.C. last fall.
Well I didn't have to water much but the wind really dried out the gardens and the new grass plugs so I gave it a hand watering in the afternoon. I tuned into the Ray's game and they won big against the Texan's and tonight I will attend the game along with Tyler my son in law the game as a church friend gave me two tickets. The Lightning were losing in a close game when I shut the lights off at 10, LATER
