Well Saturday was another fun day that started with a trip to Brandon which is a bedroom community east of Tampa to watch son Bobby coach a baseball team which his son Gabe plays on. It was an exciting game throughout except for one inning in which too many errors caused them to lose by two runs. Amy and family came out to watch them play as well.
I started the day with a sleep in until nearly 6:30 after a long physical day on Friday and a late night with hitting the sack around 11 the night before. It was much the usual to start the day with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble then spent a few quiet moments with my Creator. All is well with those I lift up daily as I've heard nothing to the contrary. I headed out to hand water the gardens before we took off around 9'ish for Brandon. The weather was almost to perfect for this time of the year as the humidity is very low and the temps were in the low 80's which is almost non heard of for nearly the first of May. It was even better as the evening hours found us downtown St.Pete along the waterfront dining outside at an upscale eatery around 6'ish with the Tracy's and the Botbyl's. The food was delicious and very reasonable and the ambiance was delightful to say the least. The park across from the eatery was filled with lots of folks in various stages of dress from evening gowns to work out clothing.
After eating we walked over to the Vinoy Hotel which was constructed in the early 1900's and has since gone through major restoration and renovations since then. It is absolutely beautiful both inside and out the building and the grounds and its right on the waterfront. We walked the area which has now become a very upscale and clean touristy area with huge water crafts docked along the foot paths. Work has begun on a cruise ship docking terminal coming to the area as well next year and so the place will be filled with lots of visitors to the city's eateries and hotels. We seldom go down there but its very clean, modern and safe as the area has been renovated with major attractions at the Mahaffey Theatre as well the Dali Museum and with the new pier coming.
Well The Ray's won again against the division leading Red Sox in Boston after a dismal start. The Lightning did not do as well against the Bruins in a rout for them at 6-2. This is the first game of a 7 games playoff and its not looking good as of yet. Nancy made a delicious dinner for one of our BridgePoint families who just had their first baby and we took that by on our way to the restaurant around 5'ish. Well we got back from St.Pete around 9'ish and it was soon shower time then some horizontal lab for me as 5 ish came early for me this morning(Sun.) with the load in at the college, LATER
