Well Sunday was another gorgeous day but we could feel the heat and humidity creeping back after what was supposed to be a cold front which brought just enough rain to mess up my truck with road crime while coming home Saturday night. We had a great day of serving folks at BridgePoint Church both at the college and next door at the Rec. center where we had a tent set up to meet folks to make them aware of our church next door and mainly to invite folks to our Easter Service next month. This was Paw Wow weekend in Seminole with a carnival type atmosphere with several rides as well as lots of food tents along with many business sponsors.
We had a shorten schedule with just once service at 9:30 them several of us moved to the Rec. where met lots of folks and old friends from our past. I had helped with the load in at 6 AM so I missed many of my usual morning routines but did catch up with my blog after lunch. We helped with setting up "bumper soccer" which was a hoot. People put on these huge air filled plastic barrels and then they try to kick a soccer ball into a goal but the real purpose is to run into one another and they in turn are usually rolling around on the ground on standing upside down inside this plastic barrel. It is a scream and we had some older folks do it, I would have if I had changed clothes after church as it looked like fun. We greeted folks with info cards and gave out lolly pops to kids and only a few rejected both. Many asked questions and were shocked to know we were holding services in the college next door. Hopefully it will be a success in helping folks get closer to GOD.
W worked the tent until 1 PM then headed home to eat a bite. I set the sprinkler on the garden and then took a 15 minute power nap. It seems after the "spring forward" time change it takes me a day or so to adjust..The Botbyl's invited us up to pulling a supper together as they supplied the salmon and us the salad. I picked fresh lettuces, kale and cabbage for the salad and it was superb to say the least as was the salmon. Afterwards we settled into a couple of card games; golf and Oh -ell. It was going on 9'ish before we finished and headed out for home. It wasn't long until was shower time and then some horizontal lab, LATER
