Monday Morning

Well Sunday was a gorgeous day with lots of sunshine and cooler temps to start the day with some wind and it reached the upper 70's by late afternoon. We skipped our regular church attendance and watched our BridgePoint service on line as we were taking an adventure up to the Floyd area of Virginia to Morrisette Winery. We left the cabin around 11'ish and travelled the Blue Ridge Parkway along with many other vehicle traffic to the winery. The reason to go was a free outside one man concert on the grounds. The venue was very nice and the place was packed with folks enjoying the music, wine and food on the grounds.

We came back a different way as the traffic was heavy on the parkway with folks looking for the change in the leaves which the peak has passed. There are lots of yellow's and brown's but no really bright vivid colors as tropical storm Nate a week or so ago destroyed the leaves many of which are on the ground. The first vestiges of Fall are slated for this morning and the temperature change is drastic from in the 60's on Sunday to the 40's this Monday morning. We are looking at some 30's here for this week which everyone here is happy about, but for me I still like the warm and even hot afternoons, oh well.

We get our friends the Tracy's and Botbyl's for the next week here at the cabin which helps with not having to travel a half hour each day for get togethers. There should be some good eatin' and hopefully some raucous card games. Carol is still in some serious discomfort with a hamstring injury which is not healing s fast as we hoped. I think maybe she needs to just rest it for a few days and maybe that will help but just riding in the truck yesterday she was in severe pain at time. We came back and had a delicious salad and spaghetti supper and then they headed out for their last night at the rental. They have to be out by noon so they have lots of packing to do.

Well after they left it was shower time and then a little MLB playoff before I headed in to read until lights out around 10. I've boycotted the NFL as I can no longer watch unpatriotic millionaires who disrespect the flag and anthem and who blatantly hate our POTUS. So long to them and any other sport or group who is openly unpatriotic, LATER
