Monday Morning

Well Sunday started out cloudy with lite rain during the night and then overcast skies that carried over to all day Sunday. The real heavy rain started during the late afternoon and then the winds picked up over night blowing rain up and under the roof ridge cap causing some minor leaking. I thought I had fixed that issue on Saturday but the winds were just too strong so we did get some minor drips in the up stairs bathroom dormer. I need to find a better solution to the problem before we head back for the winter.

The day started with a 6 'ish roll out for me with my usual routines while I posted this ramble and then spent a few minutes with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several for healing and comfort. I got word later in the day a friend and local feller died suddenly from a heart attack at 55 years young. He was the brother of the man who built our place and at times worked with him here on the cabin. Dennis was quite the handy man but smoked like a chimney. He is one of about 7 Todd's who still live in the area.

We headed out to Cornerstone for worship at 9:30 then met up with our friends from Florida at noon for some good Mexican Food at the local restaurant in Sparta. I would say about 30 or more from church including the pastor and his family were there as well along with several other pastor's we know in the area. The food was delicious and reasonable. Afterwards we made a Walgreens stop before a grocery stop at Grant's for some of their pork butt special. It was there our neighbor who works at Grant's informed us of Dennis Todd death. We loaded up and headed to the cabin and didn't leave the rest of the evening as the fog and rain set in.

I watched a little of the NFL against my better judgement and then a MLB playoff game during the evening until I decided I needed to work on finishing this book IT. I headed for the bedroom after checking the upstairs dormer and at that time it was dry but I awakened some time later and could hear the wind blowing the rain at almost gale force against the roof from this storm Nate that hit the Gulf Coast. I noticed trash cans scattered up stairs in the bathroom catching the rain water drips this morning when I got up. It's still raining but not a blowing rain so the drips have stopped. I suspect our driveway is washed out as well with the torrential down pour so that will need some attention as well, LATER
