Monday Morning

Well Sunday was an awesome day that started with my usual 6 ish roll out. It was a bit nippy with temps down into the 50's but the clouds soon parted and by late afternoon it had warmed up nicely and then overnight it really warmed up again. We did our morning routines that started with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and honey while I posted this ramble and spent some quiet moments with my Creator. We then listened to our Florida pastor Tim at BridgePoint Church live on line while we got ready for church at Cornerstone.

We headed out around 9:30 and met up with our newest neighbor Jaime at Cornerstone. We introduced her to all our friends and Pastor B and then ate lunch together at the church. We had an awesome meal provided by some great Lexington barbecue cookers and the church provided the desserts. There were less folks to eat than predicted so they sold whole butts for 20 bucks along with some special sauce and I bought one and then later separated it into plastic bags for freezing. I got three meals plus enough for a couple meals for our "mountain mom".

I got an invite to play pickle ball around three so I took off for Roaring Gap and met up with 5 other guys for a good two hours of play. I left with a wet shirt and some tired muscles as this was the first time I've played in weeks. It felt so good to be on the court again and the play was top level. Jaime our friend came by with her pup Blue for a couple hours and we got to know her and her story as well. She is a doctor of physical therapy and comes from a large family in Texas but now travels all around the country doing her expertise which pays quite well. We have grown quite fond of her and Blue. She stayed until nearly dark and we learned she is a strong Christian as well and will lead a mission trip next week to El Salvador where she will administer her expertise along with other medical folks to the needy in that country.

After Jaime left Nancy was on the phone with her family until well after midnight. It wasn't long after 10 that I hit the showers and was gone for the night especially after the great workout. I had many well wishes on this 71st birthday. Bobby and Amy both called as well as tons of FaceBook acknowledgements for this special day. Thank You All, LATER
