Merry Christmas ..Sunday Morning

Well Saturday found us in east Tampa for the annual Christmas Eve lunch with Katie's family, what a spread that was with some very tasty dishes many of which were special recipes from family traditions along with some barbecue brisket and roast turkey. I tried to taste a little of most everything except the rolls, cornbread and any of the 7 different desserts, yeow.

The morning started with my usual 6'ish roll out. After my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric while I posted this ramble I spent a few quiet moments with my Creator and then got ready to ride out to the Rec on my bike for some hour and half of pickle ball. I wasn't expecting many to show but we had several with enough to have three courts in action. It was a great time of play an exercise and I left with a wet shirt.

I hand watered the gardens before getting ready to leave for Tampa. The weather promised another rather unseasonably warm day and no rain. We packed up all we were taking to the luncheon which included Nancy's famous squash casserole, sugar coated pecans and chocolate mou'se tarts with the red cherry on top.  It took us nearly and hour to make the trip but coming back the roads were packed with travelers. We made a stop at GG's on the way over and then again on the way back and brought her with us for the evening along with a pot of her famous tasting Garbanza bean soup for our supper to add to the snacks we were having with neighbor Dan and Carol. It was a lite crowd this year as the Ross Family was away.

Dan and I sat and watched the Bucs get beat by the Saints which we easily should have beaten. They are still in the hunt for the playoffs but after watching them last evening we are not a playoff caliber team. I suspect they may win one more game if they are lucky and have a winning record but after last nights play I don't believe they can beat the lowly Panthers who are terrible this year with the worst record in our division, oh well!

We snacked on soup, artichoke/spinach dip which is one of my fav's but oh so loaded in calories and some smokies wrapped in dough along with a glass of red vino. The Botbyl's stayed until nearly 9'ish as Dan and I watched some UFC bouts which were absolutely great with action galore, yeow. Nancy took GG home and got her settled in and I hit the shower around 10'ish. It wasn't long until the sandman was calling.

We had stopped at Publix on the way home and picked up an eleven pound prime rib roast which we are having today(Sun.) for supper along with the usually fare of smashed taters, green beans from Tyler's garden, fresh carrots and crusty bread. We will have a house full this morning for a 10 o'clock breakfast with GG, The Botbyl's and now Dan's folks are coming as well and then again this evening with Betsy's family, Bobby and his family and GG. This will be a day of celebration which is customary on Christmas's in the past and while the crowd is lessen without the Ross's we will still have a house full with good eatin', laughter and cheer, LATER

Merry Christmas to ALL and we are hoping our nation has a GREAT NEW YEAR
