Well Saturday was a work day for the morning as we got ready to leave the Seminole residence until the first week in November. I was up and ready to go at 6 ish and after my usual morning routines of a hot cup of green tea laced with some turmeric I spent a few quiet moments with my Creator before breakfast. The three Ross kiddos spent the night and they were up by 7'ish. I got them settled with morning drinks while Nancy made breakfast. I headed out to work in the yards before it got too blazing hot.
I mowed both yards, put out ant poison and then sprayed weed and grass killer along the fence lines. Tyler picked up Ava around 9 ish as she had volleyball practice so Sam and Eliza Faye entertained once another until Amy came for breakfast and then took them home while we put the house in order. I vacuumed and then packed while Nancy did her own thing before we leave for an extended period. I settled into some college football until it was time to pick up GG as we were taken her out for her birthday. She is 88 today and still in good shape with a clear mind.
She mentioned she wanted some Greek food so we took her along with the Ross Family out to eat there. Their roast lamb is so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves right down to the dessert of which we shared 5 different ones. We stopped off at the Ross's to pick up my laptop as Tyler was installing a new operating system for my Macintosh. After taking GG home I packed the truck then we got ready to head out after a 5:30 wake up this morning. The trip was uneventful for the 8 plus hour drive. I had only been to this city once back in the 60's while I flew with the USAF when we made a stop after the embassy run. This is such a neat old city and we met some very nice folks along the way. I must say parking is big business here as there is a shortage of land suitable for parking. There are no high rise building either except the bridge we cross over into Mt.Pleasant from old town is as high if not higher than the Skyway Bridge. Both are suspension bridges.
Well our hotel room is very nice with granite countertops. I do miss the small fridge that usually comes with rooms but everything else is first class. We are about 10 minutes from the historic district on the other side of this huge bridge. We headed down town to walk the old district along hundreds or thousands of other. We met some really nice folks and one lady who was looking at the French Huguenot Church while we were there was named Nancy Jean and was from Pittsburg. We took a photo with her and then we met a model and real ballerina out on the street and I got a photo with her for Eliza Faye. We ate at an eatery down town called Tom Condon's where they had every football game playing on huge screen TV's. The food was delicious and plentiful but a little pricey.
Tomorrow we have two tours scheduled and a time share presentation down the old district after lunch. It should be a fun day. The old architecture is awesome, LATER
