Tuesday Morning

Well Monday was a total work day for me after doing nothing but eating and playing Sunday after church. I could feel those volleyball muscles from Sunday evening that haven't been used in awhile despite the hiking and pickle ball play. It took me awhile to limber up the old shoulders and back but once I did they felt great. I guess that comes from old age, anyhow I planned on doing a good deed for our "mountain mom" Helen as she now has an electric golf cart. Rick her son bought it for her and she needed a wide mirror so he sent one in the mail and I headed over to install it for her. Afterwards I headed over to do another good deed for the day for our friends Eddie and Kimberly by cleaning out their 5 horse stalls and bagging the manure for my gardens. I had the back of the truck completely loaded with bags of the droppings.

The day started much the usual with my 6'ish roll out as dawn was just breaking. It was rather quiet on the mountain except for the dew dripping onto the tin roof from the upper bathroom dormer. I had my cup of hot turmeric tea as I posted this ramble and then spent a few minutes with my Creator in scripture reading and prayer. I use the e- bread.com site which is very good and then I lift up those I know and love and those who need some special considerations and most certainly our nation for some real leadership. Never would I have visioned the course we are on now with such corruption in the government and with such disregard for the law and giving legitimacy to the criminal element of our society; and most of all sympathizing with those who want to change us from a Judeo-Christian based culture. We are in a battle for what is right and good with those who want to control our every day thoughts and deeds with fear and terror and no concern for life except for their radical ideology.

I backed my truck into Eddie's barn and shooed the horses out of their stalls. They were like a pet as they wanted attention so much so at times they were a nuisance. I finally managed to scrape all of the stalls clean and after a couple hours of dust, sweat and horse droppings I had the back of the truck loaded with several bags of manure. I know this was good for them but even better for me. I got back to the cabin around 2'ish. I'd had a good mountain breakfast with bacon, eggs and grits so I wasn't hungry but we did have some dip and and chips to hold us to suppertime around 6'ish. After unloading the bags into the golf cart I spread their contents around the blueberry bushes, in several of the gardens patches, in the garlic patch(I harvested the garlic bulbs a week or so ago) and finally into the compost pile. This will break down and be ready for next years small seedlings in pots

and dressing for young veggies.

Well we settled down on the porch as the temps were close to 80 once again to rest and read in the shade. The few rain clouds moved on out of the area except for just a sprinkling around dusk. After a lite supper of chicken on a bed of salad we took off for our daily hike to the top of the mountain. We visited with the Browning's for a few before heading back down. We harvested a bag of Romaine lettuce from her garden that she blessed us with. I cleaned and then used the lettuce spinner to get the water out after getting back to the cabin. It wasn't long afterwards it was shower time and then I headed to the reading room and then lights out for me at 10'ish, LATER

Here are a couple corn field pics in the area.
