Tuesday Morning

Well Monday was a hot and muggy day which is normal for this time of the year but the forecast is for a cold front to move through the area in the next couple of days bringing temps down into the 70's, yikes that will be fantastic and its supposed to bring some much needed rain.

The day started with a before 6 roll out for me as Nancy had the band playing once again which awakened me around 4:30. Now I know why I'm so bushed and hit the sack by 10 PM. I did my morning routines with a hot cup of turmeric drink for my joints and then a few quiet moments to honor my Creator and Lord lifting up those I know and love. I then posted this ramble and had a lite breakfast of cereal and fruit before pedaling out to the Rec. on my bike for two hours of pickle ball. Our crowd has sure thinned out from all of the snowbirds that have migrated back north. We still had enough decent players to give me a workout and a wet shirt.

I headed home around 10'ish to work in the garden. I picked three cukes, several tomato's and my last colander of green beans. They sure did great this year and I'm excited about getting some Kentucky Wonder bush beans planted at the cabin the beginning of June. The Texas sweet onions are drying nicely with none rotting so far, since I've taken them out of the ground. I have them hanging in bunches from one of the lawn chairs and my neighbor was somewhat interested in why they were hanging there. Nancy and I hung a load of laundry prior to her taking off to the Rec. on foot for her workout. Just walking there is a workout in this heat.

I took off to pick up GG and take her to her Publix to pick up a script and few groceries as Amy is still tied up with Cindy her mother in law and while she shopped I headed to Sam's which is just next door to fill up at 2.11 per gallon; gas is up about 30 cents a gallon over the past couple of weeks as the summer driving season is upon us and we are being gouged once again at the pump. I also picked up a few items for GG and us as well at Sam's Club.

After dropping her off I headed back home to find Nancy getting ready to do her weekly volunteering at ETC where she mans the phone and helps with the clients who are avoiding jail sentences by enrolling in this program. Most of the clients are minor criminals with drug charges and misdemeanors. Some of these characters, both men and women are rough around the edges with their tattoo's, body piercings and foul language. This is a real eye opener for Nancy and many are the kind of people I dealt with on daily basis for 30 years.

I read the rest of the afternoon and started a new read titled IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU by Gregg Olsen. It's a true story involving a mormon family and murder. I'm about half way through and its a real page turner. Nancy got home around 5'ish and we settled into speaking with our "mountain mom" Helen who said the weather had lots of needed rain but the temps were pleasant. This should have the cabin grass about knee high when I get there the end of this month. I'm wondering if the grass seed I sowed last fall in a few barren spots in the back yard have taken root as well as the black raspberry cuttings the Browning gave me have rooted. It's always exciting to see what flowers have lived through the winter and of course we always find some empty spaces where some of our specially plants have mysteriously disappeared each spring. Hopefully the closed gate will keep that from happening as well as having neighbors around to look out for the cabin.

Well it seems the political atmosphere is getting rather charged with the establishment in a tizzy with Trump leading in the polls. I think the corrupt bureaucrats in Washington are scared of him and what he may do to their cliques if elected as he is beholding to none of the big money people. It's about time the electorate have awakened to their programs which have put the nation in a tailspin. This potus is now trying to give illegals 17 grand per person of our taxes whereas we who paid into social security got nothing this year and we are nowhere close to that total yearly amount. He wants to bankrupt the country and then is audacious enough to ask for an 18% raise for presidents after they leave office. Wake Up PLEASE and fire this incompetent and inept bunch in D.C. and those who want to extend his policies for 4 more years with the election of Hillary. I sincerely hope those who have voiced they will leave the country if Trump is elected will do so as they are racist and anti- American, LATER
