Well we are here at the cabin after a long day that started with a 3 AM roll out. We did have some eventful occurrences throughout the day but nothing too serious. I will explain in tomorrow mornings post as that has been my routine for the past couple of years initially with tripsplace.blogspot .com and now with this present blog at tripsdaily.blogspot.com.
Saturday found us up early and I stayed away from the pickle ball courts as I had lots to do to get ready for this 5 month trip to the cabin. plus we were watching Ava, Sam and Eliza while Amy and Tyler headed out to a wedding. We did get most of what we wanted to do before they came around 2 o'clock and then we all headed over to GG's around 5 as she was preparing supper for us all so we didn't have to cook. I dug up several plants to bring with me; a large jalapeno pepper an another pepper plant that was loaded with peppers that came up volunteer in my garden, a sweet basil plant, a thyme plant, a rosemary plant as well as several Zinnias and marigolds. I also brought three cucumber plants as well as 8 or 9 tomato plants all for the summer garden.
I put out bug poison, ant traps as well as D-con in my garden shed to help keep the citrus rats in check as they like the dryness of my shed. I stayed busy outside in the yard and garden until lunch time then headed in to vacuum and catch up on more honey-do's until the Ross kiddos came. There was never a dull moment after that. We headed over to GG's for a supper of grilled brats with sauteed onions and peppers from the garden along with mac and cheese and salad, yeow was that ever tasty. We didn't stay long after the clean up as I wanted to pack the truck and be ready to pull out by 4 AM. I laid down around 9:30 after a hot shower but I don't sleep the night before some big event and was wide awake a little before 3 when I awakened Nancy. We did some last minutes things and got away just a couple of minute before 4.
