Friday Morning

Well Thursday it was 72 degrees to start the day and now its 50 degrees and its been that way for the past several days. The heat one day and the a/c the next as well as all of the oak trees in the area are starting their new foliage with the old leaves falling like rain. I'm sure that's why I have this congestion in the head and chest which isn't bad, just annoying.

Thursday started out much the usual with a before 6 roll out. On Tues. and Thurs. I head out a half hour earlier to the Rec where several of us better players get in some time before we have to intermingle with the general players. I must say many of the B players are becoming much better except for a few who will never improve, but who still must be allowed to rotate into the mix. After my allotted time to myself of an hour and half I left with a wet shirt. We had so many players that another group went outside on the pickle ball court to play.

I piddled around in the garden and hand watered briefly as it looked like rain was heading our way with another front which did bring down the temps this morning. It seems it rains now on the past three Thursday evenings which kept me from grilling marinated chicken breast for supper. Nancy pan fried them along with fresh asparagus for supper. Amy, GG and Eliza Faye all came for lunch and while she is such a cutie she is starting to show some head strong independence. Amy is having to put her in a "time out" chair" and that really hurts her free spirit, She is just so sweet and smart at times but does push the limits.

I finished a great read of a Hudson Bay Company employee who spent several years in the Canadian arctic area with Inuits in the 30's. His story told of how a culture long gone except for the most remote places left in the world lived harmoniously and dealt with life and death situations almost daily. He just passed away a few years back at the age of 90, so a diet of mostly meat especially seal fat and blubber didn't seem to give him any disease of the circulatory system. Oh well!! I think being active and working to survive the elements played a major role in his longevity and those that he lived with in the frozen north.

Well I decided since I was some what under the weather to not go out in the pouring rain to our small group meeting a couple doors up. Nancy drove the truck 2 houses up as it was coming down pretty hard. I decided to stay warm and dry and not maybe share these symptoms with others which I'm sure they didn't object. Who wants anyone to have this not 100% feeling? Well I tuned into the Fox News channel and then watched the Idol show. It wasn't long after a hot shower that I headed for some horizontal lab, LATER
