I started the day with a 6'ish roll out and then my usual routines of a few quiet moments with my Creator and then my 5minute daily discipline for personal growth before the posting of this ramble from the day before's activities. After my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric I grabbed an apple and headed out to the back yard to eat my breakfast and check on the gardens. I found a nasty brown cut worm had eaten its way down into the heart of one of my cabbages which was starting to head up. Needless to say I sent him away with the sole of my shoe but he did some major damage overnight. The recently transplanted sweet onions look good and the new jalapeno plant actually has set a pepper. I may lose a couple of the onions but the end results are great as I'm an onion and a jalapeno pepper lover.
Nancy wanted to get a hike in so we decided to take off some time around 11'ish and we walked for nearly an hour. The breeze and wispy, filmy cloudiness made the walk exhilarating as movement kept you from getting chilled. She remarked a couple times that she could have worn a long sleeve shirt. We came back and ate some leftover bean soup from yesterday's supper along with some ham salad on crackers. I decided since I hadn't washed the truck since coming back from the cabin to give it a good washing. It didn't really look that dirty until you started washing. It's strange that my black patrol car needed washing almost everyday as it showed dirt quickly but my white truck didn't really look that dirty. I spent the next couple hours on washing with liquid wax in the water then cleaning the inside and the windows. I keep the truck garaged here in Florida but it sits outside in the mountains.
Well I tuned into the bowl game on ESPN and learned there was a total of 4 games through out the day, needless to say I watched as much as we I could until after
supper when we both shared the big TV with some other than sports shows. We had some fried green tomatoes for supper along with some salad and I finished the last of the bean soup from yesterday. It strange how we seldom eat black-eyed pea soup throughout the year but it loaded with some fine seasonings and is absolutely one of my favorite legumes and that is the same with green tomatoes. It seems I have just acquired a taste for them the way Nancy fries eggplant and yellow squash which are both delicious as well.
