Well Saturday was a busy day that started early with a before roll out for me and then some pickle ball and finally the grandkids came sometime after 1'ish and they are sleeping as I write this post. Wow what a busy afternoon and evening and if only I could absorb some of that energy.
We were so looking forward to having all five of the grand kids for a sleep over and it went find until Eliza Faye became a little fussy sometime after her bath. She was plumb wore out but would not go to sleep. I think it was after 10 before she finally fell asleep in Nancy's arm. The girls were out cold and the boys were somewhat subdued but still bright eyed. Around 5 this morning little Eliza awakened so we put her in bed with us and she is in there now with Nancy. I'm awake at my usual time of before 6. It has rained a soft rain for most of the afternoon and night so we didn't get any outside play in the park time. Nancy had the girls making crafts and the boys were into their own make believe world and eventually games on the IPAD.
We made hard and soft tacos with black beans and rice for supper and everyone ate well, even Eliza had two bowls of beans and rice and then I popped them some popcorn while they watched a movie after their baths. I was ready for horizontal lab by 10'ish after two hours on the pickle ball court in the morning and then some garden time before the rains came. I moved up some kale seedlings into bigger pots and did some spading as I get ready to transplant some lettuces. I did transplant more zinnias seedlings along the fence and then hoed everything that was starting to show some small weeds and grass sprouting in the rows. My soil is black and looks so good. Its all those mulched leaves and grasses that are composted using earthworms. I'm thrilled that so many worms are still thriving in the soil after the past several weeks of being dry. The hand watering has saved them as well as the seedlings and those two go hand in hand.
Well today after we feed the gang breakfast and get them dressed for church we head to Riverview to worship at Bobby's church where he is the worship leader then we will get lunch together and watch the Bucs at his place before heading back to Seminole. Oh I almost forgot to mention I caught a huge raccoon on Friday night in my trap so I took it to the county park a couple miles away and turned it lose on my way to the REC and it was not a happy camper, LATER
