Sunday Morning

Well I must say Saturday was a beautiful day weather wise. We started the day with a house full of company and after a few quiet moments before everyone headed down the stairs we commenced to preparing breakfast. I cooked bacon outside on the grill while Nancy had frozen biscuits baking in the oven and sausage patties frying along with eggs to order. The kid's(millennials) headed out to Sparta around 10' ish dropping me off at the Sparta fairgrounds on their way to the big city of Galax,Va.
I met up with Dan and Patrick at the drive in car show and then we all came back to the cabin for lunch with girls who had all gone to the Roaring Gap shoppes.

We all layed around and waited on the millennials to return from their antique shopping trip and lunch out at the Creek Bottom Brewery in Galax. It was close to getting ready for the trip to Winston for the big wedding of our dear friend Corrine Carlson. We had to be on the road around 4'ish for the 5:30 start and I must say it was one of the best events from the beginning to the end which lasted until 10:30. The ceremony was sweet and Corrine was just absolutely gorgeous. They had 10 attendants and the venue was perfect for the intimate setting and perfect as it over looked the golf course on a gated park.

They had a buffet of salads, chopped chicken, meat balls, pasta and sauces with cheeses and finger foods to start the juices flowing and the wet bar included white and red wines and 8 different beers to choose from which flowed all through the night. The dancing was fast and continuous and the DJ kept the music going through out the night after the usual speeches by siblings which were heart felt and brought tears to many eyes including our table who included 10 of us from Seminole, Florida. There was another group from Florida from our old church in Seminole as we were at one time all members together.

I learned that we have our first Triple Crown winner in 37 years as American Pharaoh won the Belmont race and the Lightning beat the Blackhawks to even the series in the quest for the Stanley Cup. Well as I'm writing this ramble Bobby is in the kitchen with neighbor Jon preparing pancakes from scratch for our breakfast. The temps are a little cool and somewhat overcast with everyone wearing sweat clothes. Here are a few pictures from last nights gala courtesy of Nancy's new camera, LATER
