Wednesday Morning--April 1st

Well Tuesday saw us with a little warmer temps to start the day and with a little increase in the humidity as well but it hasn't quite reached a typical Florida day yet. We still have the windows and doors open despite the 80 degrees. There was plenty of sunshine with a nice breeze which made for great outside play and work. The kiddos played outside after lunch and mentioned they were a bit chilly in the shade of the big oak.

I started the day with a 6'ish roll out and after my usual routines and a few quiet moments I had a left over buckwheat cake for breakfast before heading out to the rec for some 2 hours of pickle ball. The morning ride on my bike was exhilarating with the chill and dew in the air. The early morning smells with the beautiful sunrise and the sounds of birds gave way to the spring time ambiance which surely reminded me of the mornings in the mountain at the cabin. Oh how I miss our place tucked back in the woods.

We had 3 pickle ball courts in action with extra folks waiting to play. I'm still somewhat taking it easy with the knee but managed to get in some nice rallies and a wet shirt. Afterwards I stopped off at the library before heading home to hand water the gardens and once more harvest some greens for a fresh salad. Amy, GG and the kiddos came for lunch and then I headed out to the garden to turn over where I had the broccoli planted. I wanted to sow some beet and kale seeds and cover them with some chicken wire to keep the squirrels from digging in the area. Hopefully the seeds sprout and grow big enough to take with me in about 8 weeks to the summer garden. I started a couple Stevia plants from cuttings and they seem to be doing great. One has already rooted itself and instead of using white cane sugar I hope Nancy will use the green leaves for sweetness in our tea this summer.

After they all left around 3'ish I read until it was time to head over to GG's for a supper of spaghetti meat balls and salad around 5. We had a nice visit with her and the eatin' was delicious as well. We got home before dark so I hand watered the lettuces and some of the barren grass areas of the back yard until dark. We then tuned into O'Reilly on the Fox channel and then I headed to the showers afterwards as Nancy likes to watch her HGTV shows on the big screen. I did get to watch some of the kick boxing bouts which left me so wound up that it was hard to get to sleep at 11, LATER
