Well Wednesday started out much the usual with a before 6 roll out to start the day. After my usual routines and a few quiet moments to reflect and lift up those who I know that have some concerns I got ready to ride my bike to the rec for some 2 hours of workout on the pickle ball courts. It was an open day so any caliber of player could participant. There were a couple A players there and we seldom left the court during the course of play as the winners split and then teamed with new players. Many of the beginners and B players are really starting to play with more confidence and I've been helping several to improve their games as well. It seems they love to score points on me and that makes for interesting play as I bring my level down somewhat to accommodate them and get them into long rallies; thus improving their game, giving me a workout and hopefully get more players to improve their play.
After the workout which left me with a soaked shirt I stopped by the library to return some books before heading home. Nancy left shortly thereafter for the rec and her workout on the treadmill. I piddled around in the garden for an hour or so hand watering, tying up tomato plants and weeding. The garden is looking great all except for the broccoli area which is now harvested and I took the old leaves off of the stalks and left them in the ground. Hopefully the stalks will put out small rosettes of broccoli that can be eaten raw in salads or cooked even though they're not as beautiful as the large heads. The cabbages are also starting to head up and I should be able to start harvesting them in a week or so as well.
Amy and kiddo's stayed at home today for lunch so we sure missed little Eliza and Sam. GG was singing with her choral group so Nancy and I ate alone; wow was it ever quiet around the house. I headed into the reading room for the next couple hours and finished the book about Micheal Rockefeller's demise at the hands of the cannibals in New Guinea in the 50's. Needless to say he became a meal in the end after a through investigation by the those who were looking for him.
Nancy put on a pot of Zuppa toscano soup and that's what we had for supper around 5'ish. Tonight was house church at the Botbyl's and we finished up the History Channels show on Revelation. Next week we will discuss the first 3 chapters of the last book in the Bible. Should be an interesting discussion. Well we got back to the house around 8:30 and tuned into the last of American Idol and the Fox News channel. Seems things are moving fast in the middle east all except for our leaders as we still appease the terrorists in some form or another. Mainly we have no plan on how to address this evil or even acknowledge it exists in the world, despite their horrendous acts of violence. We have a leader who snubs the only democracy in the region and down rights dislikes Israel our most faithful ally while giving Iran a chance to fulfill their ambition to produce a nuclear weapon, which in all likelihood will be used to attack America by those in this country who hate the west and especially us. Wake Up America especially those in academia as now we see chants on college campuses that terrorists chanted when attacking up on 9-11 and while killing innocents in the world in their name of religion, LATER
