Well Sunday started out with a chill in the air as we had the heat on to warm the house for a cycle or two but then it warmed up and made for a very pleasant afternoon and then by night fall it had cooled down a little once again. The bright sunshine was evident through out the day; typical Florida weather in the winter as we started the climb towards hot weather and summer time. Wow for the first day of February it was very nice compared to the cold, snow and ice in the Shenandoah Valley. Paw Paw said snow was still on the ground there with temps down into the teens most every night and barely breaking into the 30's during the day.
Today Sunday was worship day at the gathering in Tampa at Element Church. The service was awesome in both praise music and a message on Joy. We had a guest who manages a village near us for folks who want to adopt foster kids. This is a new concept and world changing for kids who are left out of the normal family cycle and Element Church is going to partner with them in this new way of bringing that cycle to an end for these kids and the adults who make that life changing decision. I will expound more on that later as we go out to the complex called the New Life Village on the 15th of this month to meet the kids and their new parents with a block party that we will sponsor.
We carpooled with Dan and Carole and she got her brother to sit with their mother so she could attend her monthly duty at the front desk with Nancy checking in e-Kids into their respective classes. We made a stop at Apple Bee's for lunch on the way home and we had decent food except for Nancy's but our waitress was the worse ever for some reason and so slow. We had two parties arrive after we were seated and both of them ate and left before we ever got our food. I guess we will not eat at this place again in the near future, oh well!! We got home around 1 and then I set the sprinkler on the garden and we watched the new TV with all of the Alaskan shows until it was time to head up to Dan and Carol's at 6'ish with some finger foods; guacamole and chips, egg rolls, humus and a fresh broccoli. They had prepared jalapeno poppers and sliders with sauteed mushroom and onions as we got ready for the Super Bowl.
Speaking of the game which really turned out to be a good one even though I was rooting for the Seahawks as I really like their QB, Russel Wilson. But despite some very good plays and a close game the ending was one that will be discussed forever in the sports field as the coach of the 'Hawks and a play they called that lost them the game in the final seconds. We decided during the second half to play a game of "oh -ell" which is a fun card game we learned from Nancy's folks. I smoked them all big time with no bids until the final two rounds of a 12 round game. We had a grand time as a blew my diet for a day of not eating too much or too late or any bread. I did stick with no chips and put my guacamole directly on my slider. The jalapeno poppers were delicious as well as was everything we ate. We even had a glass of vino to get the gastric juices flowing as well.
Well after walking home during the second half we finished the game with disbelief of the play called by the coaches and the win by the Patriots it was a hot shower time and then lights out for me at 11, LATER
