Tuesday Morning

Well Monday after a chilly start really warmed up to the lower 70's. We had the windows and doors open by late evening and with the house full of company(family) we turned the fans on as well. It wasn't stuffy enough for the a/c but getting close as the inside temp reached the middle 70's. The afternoon was just beautiful short sleeve weather. Nancy had been making Christmas cookies all day long and then put a pork roast in the oven around 3 for a 6 o'clock supper time. The smells were delicious.

I started the day with the usual 6'ish routines and then headed out for the rec on my bike for close to two hours of pickle ball play. We only had enough players for 2 courts in action but the play was good and very competitive and by 10 I was whipped and had a wet shirt. I then stopped off at the library for a new read before heading home to hand water the gardens. Amy had called and wanted to drop Eliza Faye off while she shopped so I stopped and took over watching her as Nancy had the kitchen in a tizzy with Christmas cookie baking. I think she made at least 3 different ones today and already had 2 others completed. This operation gets bigger each year and so do I after sampling them but this year I told myself I wasn't eating any of them and so far I've stuck to my word. While all of them are my favorites it will take some will power to pass them up.

Eliza and I danced to music and played in the toy room for over 2 hours and finally I got her to take a small nap. She is so dog gone cute and you just want to hug her so tightly. She is standing alone and will take one step but them goes down on her knees to crawl when she wants to go some where else. After lunch I took her outside and walked in the sunshine and she loved that. We watched the squirrels digging in my garden and she makes this high pitch squeal when she wants to get your attention. Amy brought GG and Sam so we all had a lunch of leftover meatloaf sandwiches which were very tasty.

After they left  I read for awhile then helped with cleaning up the kitchen before heading out to piddle around in the garden. I headed out to pick GG up around 4'ish and bring her home for supper and present exchanging. The pork roast was delicious along with a kielbasa and hot dogs cooked in the juices of the sauerkraut that Nancy added about an hour before we ate. Yikes the smells were awesome to your taste buds and when applied over some smashed taters you began to salivate. There was crusty bread and then cookies for dessert all of which I had a hard time passing up; but did. After the clean up we watched the kiddos as Amy and Tyler did some Santa Claus shopping until nearly 10'ish. The kiddos finally succumbed to sleep and were all sacked out on the couches. I was fighting it as well by the time they left around 11'ish for their beds. I had a hot shower and was soon a sleep shortly after as well, LATER
