Well Monday was a typical Florida winter day only we didn't have to turn the a/c on. The humidity did creep back into the area but the breeze kept it quite comfortable despite the very warm temps which reached the high 70's and even 80's more inland. Our sea breeze made for another pleasant day.
I started the day with a 6'ish roll out. After my quiet time and an the posting of this ramble I headed off on my bike to the rec for nearly 2 hours of pickle ball play. We had a large crowd with 3 courts in action as everyone wanted to work off the last 4 days of eating and no exercise. The wet shirts were plentiful and by 10 o'clock I was ready for a break. I've still got this sinus drain which is aggravating and a slight cough at times but I don't feel bad. Sam and Eliza have a little cold and he has a mild fever so I'm exposed to them almost everyday, oh well.
I came back and worked in the garden hand watering and feeding my seedlings. Today was the first day I harvested 3 types of lettuce, beet greens and kale for a huge garden salad for lunch. My oh my was that ever tasty and fresh. I have about 30 or more lettuce seedlings to transplant this week as they are putting on a third leaf as well as more kale seedlings. Everything is looking good as the warm nights really bring on the growing season. I did lose another tomato plant as something got it and it just wilted and died, oh well.
Amy brought Sam and Eliza by as he wasn't feeling good with a slight fever so he stayed home from school. She took GG and they went grocery shopping and then all came for a lunch of leftovers and garden salad. Little Eliza just melts your heart with that grin of hers. Sam got to feeling better after lunch and he played with her by pulling her around on a blanket. She is one tough little gal and never fusses even when she gets knocked down or falls. She is about ready to take off on her own by walking.
After they left we took GG home then ran some errands to JoAnn's Fabrics. I wanted to purchase the vinyl for recovering the ladder back chair seats along with some foam rubber. We then headed to Sam's Club for gas at $2.59 a gallon and some other goodies before heading home around 5'ish. I grilled a couple pork chops laced with fresh rosemary and along with some Brussel sprouts and left over taters and gravy we ate well. After the clean up we settled into ordering Christmas gifts on the Internet until O'Reilly came on the tube at 8. I watched Fox News for awhile before switching to the Monday Night Football game which was like watching the worst teams in the league battle it out for the cellar spot; although I think the Bucs have that spot along with the Raiders as the worst teams this year, LATER
