Monday Morning

Well Sunday was anything but a sun day. It started off with fog and a light drizzle and eventually a little shower but we never really saw much of the sunshine that we are accustom to having. The temps dropped considerably as well with the humid air. I think there is a chance we may get down into the 40's as a low sometime later this week. We had our two grand kids Annsley and Gabriel spend the night with us so it was get them up, feed them breakfast and then get them ready for church and then the drive to Tampa at Element Church .

We met up with Bobby and all of those who worship at Element around 9:45 AM. Nancy worked the front desk checking in all of the kiddos and the workers. I helped as well and then helped with serving snacks for them midway through the service. We still have a good core of attendees and there were 20 plus kiddos who needed attention not counting a couple of small crib babies. The music was inspiring and the message presented by elder Blake was very interesting and well done. Bobby helped with the music so he still has a hand it all that is going on despite the breakup of his family and stepping down as pastor. There were many families out of town but we still had a good show of worshipers.

We headed home and made a grocery stop for GG as she was preparing grandson Garrett's(Betsy's youngest son) 18th birthday supper later on in the evening. We dropped off what she was needing then headed home to a late lunch of a smoked chicken wrap before I settled in to watch the hapless Bucs once again play terrible especially at the quarterback position. We need someone to throw the ball down the field with some authority as we have a couple of the best receivers in the NFL. Once again they stunk up the field but I did get to watch a couple other decent games. At this point in the season I getting more interested in the college football games than the pro's.

Well today(Mon) is Paw Paw's birthday. He is actually my mother's brother who took me in when I was 4 years old and raised me as his own son and while he was just 23 and newly married he raised me with his three daughter's who came along a couple years later. Happy Birthday to him at 87 years young. He set the bar on work ethic and still maintains that edge despite his advanced age in years; otherwise he is quite active and still carries a respectable bowling average and still has a remarkable mind with his ability to remember dates and genealogy of not only those in our lineage but most other people in the community. I must say when he tells a story its hard to hear the ending as his laughter most often supersedes that part of the story, especially when he remembers the hilarity of the incident.

Well the birthday supper at GG's was spaghetti and meatballs, salad and garlic bread with strawberry angel food cake and after the cleanup we settled into a game of Lego's. Braden whupped us all and even Gus came for a change and played the game. It was somewhat difficult because GG's hearing aids needed tweaked and we were having to yell so she could hear; but it was an enjoyable family evening and the eatin' was fabulous. It was close to 9 when we headed out for home. I read for awhile and then tuned into the NFL game and finally switched back and forth to some idiot who wanted to be swallowed by a huge anaconda. That was some big snake and he's lucky the thing didn't squeeze him to death despite this special suit he was wearing; interesting what people will do for notoriety, LATER
