Monday Morning our last full day in the mountains

Well the weekend sure went fast with Bobby and the kiddos here for a short whirlwind visit. They headed out around 3 'ish for the airport in Charlotte and got back to Tampa somewhere around 10'ish. We were completely on the go either on golf cart rides, hiking or just walking and shopping the downtown area of Sparta. We made several stops and took lots of side roads. The kiddos had a grand time at the festival that supports the local Christian school on Saturday. The cold weather thrilled them as well as did the morning frosts which was as close as they have come to seeing snow.

Bobby being the gourmet part time chef he is perked our taste buds with some of his special sauces for beef and pork as well as a great spaghetti dinner to the kiddos delight. He also made homemade pancakes which were the best ever; even better than Nancy's buckwheat cakes with a banana in the batter. Now that is saying something. We decided since they had to leave in the early afternoon that we would have our large meal in the early part of the day around 2. We got in another hike to the top of the mountain where we quickly took off our jackets and sweat shirts as the temps quickly warmed to the middle 60's. It was just a beautiful day with a lite breeze and lots of sunshine. The kiddos were outside having a grand time.

Annsley got to drive(steer) the golf cart and that was one her biggest high lites of the trip along with scrapping the frost off of my truck. It was sad to see them go but they had a grand time and we will see them again in less than a week. We got busy and started putting the cabin in

shape for the winter. I managed to put all of the porch furniture and the grill in the shed while Nancy stripped beds and worked on the inside upstairs. We decided to skip any food for the evening except for a bowl of pop corn done the old fashion way since we ate around 2'ish. The pork chops, smashed taters and broccoli were filling.

After dark we settled into some NFL and then a couple Alaskan shows before a hot shower and then some shut eye. This will be my last post for a day or so as we leave early in the AM after a 4 o'clock wake up on Tuesday, LATER
