Well Sunday was an interesting day that found us once more inundated with duck weather. It rained most of the night on Saturday and then again late in the evening on Sunday. We must be in some kind of a wet weather pattern that will just not go away. I sure wish the west coast of America would get some of this over abundance of rain.
We started the day with once again a sleep in until nearly 8 o'clock, yikes the rain on the tin roof is so conducive to sleep and it did that most of the night. We ate lite for breakfast as we got ready for worship at Cornerstone in Sparta. Pastor B had an awesome message on having a servant's heart and our motives for having one. The praise music was exhilarating as well. After the service we along with our new friends Sam and Marsha met up at Patrick and Kathryn's at their cabin for a get together.
Patrick grilled some awesome burgers and Kathryn had cheeses, dip and fresh cut up veggies and corn on the cob, Nancy brought a bowl of 'tater salad and The Carlens(Sam and Marsha) picked up a coconut cream pie from The Pines Restaurant. Yeow what a feast we shared while the guys watched the beginning of the NFL Sunday football kickoff and the gals visited with each other out on the deck. We watched some good football until the Bucs played the Panthers and once more we lived up to our reputation with a loss despite the Panthers playing their second string quarterback. The Bucs did come back in the 4th quarter to score a couple TD's but were outplayed in every area on the field. Not a good start for the new head coach and a lot of new players on the team. At least the stands looked to be filled to near capacity with followers, oh well.
There were several upsets on the field for many teams who are usually powerhouses so maybe with some luck we can win a few games this year. Except for 2002 when the Bucs won the big game they have been a perennial loser on the field. The Broncos looked good as they wiped the field with the Colts in the first half so I was bored after awhile and relinquished the T.V. to Nancy and headed for the reading room until it was lights out around 11'ish, LATER
