Well Sunday turned out weather wise with great temps. It was down into the low 50's to start the day and stayed around 75 for the high. We had periods of drizzle, down pours for maybe a minute or two, fog, clouds and sporadic sunshine all within the same day. We really could use a good rain as I'm having to hand water the gardens now that I have new lettuces showing some green and I found where I now have several 1/2 runner green beans popping through the ground. Most but not all of the beet and kale seedlings have survived as well as have the onions, tomato's and herbs.
I started the day with my longest to sleep in at nearly 7 o'clock before rolling out. Today, Sunday would be worship day at Cornerstone in Sparta and we had a great crowd of folks with lots of new faces and many familiar ones as well. We did miss seeing many regulars for some reason. Today was honoring those who graduated from the 8th grade to high school as well as several seniors as they leave for their place in the workforce and for most off to college. Pastor B had a great message on your identity and it was apropos for these youngster as they seek their place in society. We introduced our friends and house church members Patrick and Kathryn as well as Howard(Patricks brother who is visiting from Arizona) to these fine folks and they were made welcome.
We headed the local Mexican restaurant for lunch after church which is always one of the best meals in town. The food is excellent and the service is great as well. We saw several church members there as well. Afterwards we made a grocery stop before heading back to the cabin to spent the rest of day cleaning up the basement and then taking a hike to the top of the mountain. We saw Roddy and Kathy and visited with them and their pooch Tanner who is a very aggressive dachshund. He had all kinds of stiches and staples from where he tried to take on a Rottweiler last week and was lucky to have survived the attack. That was the only folks we saw while on our hike.
We got a small shower just after getting back which lasted maybe 5 minutes despite the dark clouds. Nancy spoke with Kimberly and since she cancelled all visitation for Eddie at the hospital she wanted to update us with his condition and it wasn't good. They had to intubate him due to his breathing difficulties and now he has stopped breathing on his own for the most part and the respirator is keeping him alive. That doesn't sound good along with all of his other issues. Still keep him and her both in your thoughts and prayers as she is blaming herself for this catastrophe.
We settled into watching the show "mountain man" and then "the hunt" on the history channel for most of the evening until it was shower time. I could barely keep my eyes open until 11, LATER
