Wednesday

Well Tuesday turned to be for the most part a rainy, overcast day that saw the temps drop a little and from the forecast it's supposed to be even chillier on Wednesday and Thursday. When I say chillier that means less than 80, oh well! I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish rollout then my routine before pedaling out to the rec for some 1 1/2 hours of pickle ball. We had 2 courts in action and despite having to leave around 9:30 because of an appointment with the VA, I still managed a good workout and a wet shirt.

I headed out for the VA to have my left hand injected or the pinkie finger on my left hand. Seems the tendon has swelled and caused the finger to draw up and this procedure is too relieve that abnormality. I can't lay my hand flat because of the finger. After injecting me they will force the tendon to stretch and then splint the finger. This is all non-surgical but for some reason the pharmacy failed to deliver the solution to the ward so I had to cancel and make another appointment next week. The doctors apologized and even the head doctor came and spoke with me about the mix up. Anyhow after sitting around for an hour or so I headed back home for a lunch of salad.

Amy and the kiddos were there and then we watched Eliza when Amy took Sam for his 4 year old checkup and shots. He never cried while getting 2 shots and was most proud of his big boy stickers. Eliza was so sweet and tries her hardest to talk to us. We had such a good time with her and she is getting stronger everyday. After they left I settled into reading Bobby's book The Great Darkening and finished it just before supper. After a slow start it ended with much action and drama and you found yourself identifying with Cal the main character. I'm looking forward to the next book in the trilogy. The editor of the book Melody Farrell, put out a PDF editorial companion guide TGD and it's quite helpful. It very informative and may help with the storyline as it did for me . See if you can download it.

We finished up the leftovers of smoked pork, collards, baked beans and Cole slaw for supper and then we settled into the Fox News until it came time for the Ray's to play the Royals once again in Kansas City. Speaking of that area we had a new grand nephew born to Kelly and Jordan Zander who is stationed near there with the USAF. Baby Elijah and Kelly are doing fine and the newest grandparents Dee and Mike Dillon made it there from Virginia to hold their first grandchild. Their life will never be the same as we can attest to this special mile marker in life.

On a sad note one of my old friends and flight engineers,  Jerry Illies from my USAF days passed away from lung cancer after retiring to the Ocala area. I had kept in touch with him through another old friend and former brother-in-law Bruce Fallon. Well that was about it for Tuesday as we did get about a 1/2 inch of much needed rain and the drop in temps felt wonderful as well, LATER
