Friday

Well Thursday was pretty much a wash out with heavy rain and thunder storms at times. The wet stuff tampered off by late afternoon and we actually saw the sun just before it set. It has stayed rather warm considering the front was supposed to bring us temps down into the 40's but so far that hasn't happened.

I started the day with a 6'ish roll out to a cup of hot green tea then a few quiet moments before a lite breakfast of cereal. I had a chiropractors appointment in St.Pete at 8:30 so I headed out a little before 8 as the morning rush hour plus the heavy rain made for severe traffic backups. After my adjustment I stopped by the VA at Bay Pines Hospital to clarify about getting some non-VA assistance for the chiropractor visits. I finally got that taken care after a couple phone calls to the right person in charge. I got back to the house around 10 then due to the rain we just read until lunch time. Amy called and said she wasn't coming for lunch with kids because of the weather and Nancy had taken her mother to the beauty parlor for a perm so it was just the two of us for lunch.

After a lunch of leftovers we continued reading until GG called and needed a ride home around 1'ish. Nancy picked her up and drove her home in the rain. I just took one of those days and layed around reading.  I started a new non-fiction read titled THE SECRET RESCUE. Its about a plane load of nurses and medics who survived a plane crash behind the Nazi lines in WWII in the country of Albania and how they were rescued and kept safe by the locals. So far its a page turner with pictures to boot.

GG came for supper and we grilled some of her sirloin steaks from her ribbon gift and I cut Swiss chard from the garden and sautéed that along with Nancy's infamous oven taters. Yeow what a delicious supper. Those mid-western sirloins were fabulous grilled medium rare. The next time our team leaders put the ribbon gifts on special, 2 for the price of 1, we will stock up on the Delicious Ribbon Gift. You get (8) 1/2 pound steaks and (8) 1/4 pound burgers individually wrapped for about 30 bucks and they shipped free to you in dry ice. That is a great buy especially with the price of beef at the grocery.

Well after the cleanup Nancy and I drove GG home and returned her car as we had to use it for our separate  appointments. We came back and settled in to the American Idol and was surprised the girl from Florida was voted off as she was truly a better singer than a couple of the others, oh well. Now I think it's become a personality contest as the public votes. I tuned into the Lightning hockey game and they were getting trounced by one of the worse teams in the league; especially after they traded one of their star players. Oh well there seems to be no honor among management. It wasn't long until I was reading the insides of my eye lids, LATER
