Well Wednesday was mostly a rainy, windy day and by late evening it turned cold once again. By this week-end the forecast is to be back into the 80's with bright sunshine. This weather sure beats what our neighbors are getting just north of us. I doubt seriously if we will get any hard freezes again in the near future.
I started the day with a rollout a little before 6 to temps around the middle 50's so I had my usual hot tea, a few quiet moments and then a grapefruit for breakfast before pedaling out to the rec. While the overcast skies showed the promise of rain there was just a lite mist so I rode out. It did pour heavily at times during the course of the morning but I managed to slip home during one of those breaks after 2 plus hours on the court. We had a crowd of about a dozen mixed players as this was an open day. So any caliber of play was allowed. I managed to stay on the court for most of the time and had a wringing wet shirt by 10.
I headed home and picked lettuce for another salad before settling in to read and catch up on some paper work. Nancy drove to the rec for her workout as the rain fell once again. It suddenly turned cold and temps began to fall dramatically around lunch time. Amy picked up GG and they came for lunch along with Sam and Eliza. We had frozen pizzas and salad for lunch and then Nancy made ginger snaps which filled the house with this awesome smell. We all had to have a few right out of the oven. We were having house church tonight and Nancy served the cookies for the snack along with Kathryn's delicious spinach dip and crackers she made and brought. We had an early supper due to our house church meeting at 6:30 of grilled salmon steaks, baked spuds and canned peas, yikes did that ever hit the spot and was delicious.
After Amy left we tided up the house; dusting, vacuuming and mopping the kitchen floor as we got ready for the house church folks. It had turned nasty with the cold wind and rain so we had a small crowd of 5 adults only. We sorted the clothing donated for the foster kids program and put them together by sizes then we sat around and discussed some future plans before ending the meeting with prayers for those who were heavy on our hearts and thoughts. It was a little after 8 when we broke up as we started at 6:30. We managed to get in the rest of the time slot for Idol. There were some good contestants with some heartwarming stories and that's what we like about the show. The judges seem to be about the folks and not about displaying their body parts as the last female judge did which what's her name Nicky something, managed to do.
I hit the hot shower afterwards and soon was watching a new Duck Dynasty episode until it was lights out around 11, LATER
