Well Friday was a chilly, windy, and drab day that found me inside except for the ride to the rec on my bike the first thing in the morning. My eyes watered from the cold air most of the way there but by 10 it had warmed a couple degrees enough so the eyes no longer watered as I rode home. Yeow it was nippy.
The morning started with a roll out around 5:30'ish as the wind awakened me several times during the night. After a cup of hot green tea, a few quiet moments and then the posting of this ramble I got ready to head out on my bike, brrr; the wind chill had it down in the 30's. We had a nice crowd for a change with 2 pickle ball courts going almost from the start. The play was fast with some really nice play and I had a wet shirt in just a short period of time. I'm going to have to miss today(Sat.) play as I have an appointment with the VA with regard to my hearing. Seems I'm having the "insects sound" playing constantly in my ears as a result of all those hours flying in a jet. This will be my second test I've had within a year regarding that condition.
After a stop at the library for a couple reads I pedaled home to check on the gardens. Everything looked good except for the sweet basil which does not like cold weather. I think I will cover it tonight as its supposed be cold once again before a moderate warm up that starts Saturday night. The temps didn't much get above 50 all day long but at least in the early afternoon we saw some sunshine which helped it to feel warmer. Nancy took off to head to GG's to meet up with Amy and the kiddos for lunch and to help with taking down all of the Christmas decorations for her. I had a bowl of leftover black-eyed peas and a ham sandwich for lunch and then read the rest of the afternoon.
Nancy was feeling a little better with her tummy discomfort so we decided to bake a couple chicken breast along with some rice and fresh green beans for supper. After the cleanup we settled into the Fox News and saw where the northeast had received some major snowfall. We spoke with our "mountain Mom", Helen and it was so cold there you didn't want to venture outside. The strong wind made it feel below zero with the single digit readings. I guess when I can ride my bike while wearing shorts outside the first thing in the morning, leaves me little room to complain about the cold weather.
I tuned into the 2 bowl games on T.V. later in the evening and saw some really good games in the first halves. After a hot shower at half time I was really for some horizontal lab and was soon there after reading the inside of my eye lids, LATER
