Friday

Well this morning I awakened to a heavy frost throughout the hood; luckily I covered the tender plants last evening and of course the large oaks help with keeping the ice from the gardens as well.

Thursday was another cold and windy day with wind chills into the low 40's. I don't believe the temps got much out of the 50's but the cold north wind was miserable for us thin blooded flatlanders. I slept in under an extra blanket until 7 AM as the gym was closed due to some maintenance so there was no pickle ball. I had to take GG to the doctor for an echo cardiogram at 9 so that worked out as Nancy had a doctors appointment as well. After our quiet times and a lite breakfast I headed out.

I was back to the house by 11 and then I read and stayed in out of the cold wind as I still have a little cough and head cough. This thing is hanging on much like the cold that Amy had for a couple weeks. Hopefully I can be rid of it with out antibiotics. Nancy picked up GG after her appointment then brought her over for lunch. After wards we headed over to Amy's so she could meet Eliza for the first time. Wow has she changed and is so cute and cuddly. She is nursing well and has already started to regain the weight she lost at birth. Cindy, Tyler's mom is making some awesome dishes as well and being a great help with the kiddos. Amy looks great and is regaining her strength with Tyler and his mom being there for her and the kiddos. She loaded us up with some delicious leftovers for our supper as well. We stayed and played with Sam until it was time for Ava to be picked up and then we dropped GG off at her house and came home. I drug out the sheets and blankets and once more covered the gardens most tender plants. All the house roofs near us without any trees around are covered with frost this AM(Friday)

Well today I will skip pickle ball once again as we are attending the funeral this morning for a young man who we knew from birth who was killed by someone slipping a "molly" into his drink. A "molly" is a form of the drug Ecstacy which is very dangerous to the brain. Joshua's brain quit working as a result and he died within hours after getting to the hospital. It is so sad to think that someone did this probably as a gag to see what his reactions would be and not necessarily to harm him; but the opposite occurred. He was just 24 years of age but the one good thing out of this is that he was a believer and we have to hope that he has been reunited with his mother in Heaven who also passed after being taken off of the ventilator several years ago. Twelve peoples lives were made a little better as his organs were donated to those in need. What an awesome young man he was and this is a lesson to young folks to be aware of who you make your friends. He was with some less than honorable people that he worked with and this was the result of his lapse in judgment; so sad.

After supper we tuned into the Fox News and then watched 2 hours of the American Idol show before heading in for a hot shower before calling it a night around 11, LATER
