Saturday

Well Friday was another busy day that started out much the usual with a 6'ish roll out of bed, then a cup of green tea while I made this post, then a few quiet moments to give thanks and ask for special healing for our friend Eddie who was under going another surgery again to his right knee area ( I will update you later in this ramble as to a late night phone call we received from him last night), then a lite breakfast of a grapefruit before riding out to the rec on my bike for some 2 plus hours of pickle ball. Boy that was a lot of thens.

We had a full crew of pickle ball players with most being in the advanced class with 3 courts going at one time and a couple waiting to get on. It was like that all morning and the sweat was dripping from most of us. My shirt was soaked as well. Afterwards I stopped by the library to return some books and picked up Ivan Doig's book THE HOUSE OF SKY. It's his autobiography that took place mostly in the rugged wilderness of Montana. What a good read.

Amy, GG and Sam came for lunch and then Nancy took GG shopping. I spent the afternoon reading once again after hand watering the gardens. The humidity is back with temps in the upper 80's. We were having Dan and Carol for a supper of steaks, baked sweet tater and sauteed fresh spinach and Carol brought a unique and delicious kale salad that had pomegranate, almonds, dried raisins and feta cheese on top with a vinaigrette dressing. Yeow that was awesome. We cleaned the platters and the steaks were awesome that I grilled medium rare with Montreal seasoning, onion and garlic powder. The meat came from one of our delicious Ribbon Gifts through Amway which is on special this month. But 2 gifts and get another one free. I'm going to restock as this is the best in sirloin steaks I've ever eaten and about half the costs. It comes frozen from the Mid-West via UPS in a cooler. I can't say enough how good this meat is especially grilled medium rare. Here is the link to that website; www.amway.com/JNTriplett

Well after supper we played a game of Phase 10 and Carol slaughtered us and while the evening was still rather young we played double 12's in domino's. I won by 2 points over Carol. They headed out around 10'ish and then the phone rang which always gives us some concern at that late of night. Well the call was from Eddie who is in the hospital in Salem, Va. where he had been operated on earlier. He was told by the doctors there was still infection in the knee area that had been removed completely once and filled with cement due to infection and that he was going to go through that same procedure again. Well he and us as well as others began lifting him up in prayer and when the surgeon open his leg, there was no infection so they once again installed a new prosthesis. He was so happy he wanted to tell the world and we spoke with him for over an hour. He credits this healing through the power of prayer and the doctors where incredulous with the healing. Now Eddie will have about 6 weeks of rehab and then he should be back on his feet literally.

Well that was about it for the day and today Saturday we will keep Ava and Sam for the afternoon and evening as Amy and Tyler will Christmas shop, go out dinner and then probably a movie, LATER
