Wednesday ended with a great time of fellowship at neighbors Dan and Carol and our newest house church members and now good friends Patrick and Kathryn. We all pulled a supper of bread, salad, dessert and Carol prepared a delicious bow tie pasta dish. Afterwards we introduced them to the game Sequence and the gals won the first 2 games so we called it a night as we wanted to watch the Ray's play the Indians for the one game wild card playoff and the RAY'S WON.
The day started with me awake early a little after 6 and then a few quiet moments to give thanks, reflect and lift up those we know who need some additional consideration from our LORD. I had a small bowl of oatmeal with molasses before riding out to the rec on my bike for some 2 1/2 hours of pickle ball play. Once again the workout was awesome with some really good play and I received lots of hugs from some I hadn't seen or played with in months. It was great to see my old tournament pardner Mitsuko once again as she still plays exceptionally well. After the workout I headed into the weight room to hop on the scales and was I ever downtrodden when I see where despite the workouts and all of the sweating I was 7 pounds heavier than when I went to the mountains, yuck.
Well that number on the scale made me eat lite for lunch and then again for supper with only one small helping of pasta with no bread(that was hard to pass up) but I did indulge in a small piece of the cheesecake Nancy made for dessert. I must at least get back to my original weight and this time I'm going to try my hardest to do so, oh well its no wonder as we have become breadaholics as well as over eating the past couple months in the mountains.
Amy and Sam came for lunch and afterwards Nancy took her mom, GG shopping so I spent the afternoon reading as it was too hot to work outside. I finished the book INTO THE FIRE about a battle that won a young marine the Medal of Honor in Afghanistan and then started a new read titled FROZEN IN TIME another true story about planes crashes and the attempted rescue of the folks during WW11 in Greenland. What an awesome read. Well the day went so fast and my newly potted tomato seedling have put on another leaf. I will leave them with Amy to water until we get back from the cabin in November.
Well that was about it for Wednesday which ended with great fellowship including tasty food
as well as introducing them to Sequence and we are looking forward to showing Patrick and Kathryn our little cabin in the woods and we hope to make some great memories with them as we have with many others, LATER Our sweet neighbor and widow friend Carol brought over a vase of orchids from a plant I had given her over the years and she stayed and visited for quite awhile. My orchids are blooming as well and survived with no care at all. These are the easiest plants to grow and were given to me by my "mountain mom" Helen when she moved permanently to the mountains. I have separated and divided them over the years and have given many away. I gave one to my dentist this last year and they sent me a picture of it blooming in their small garden along with a thank you on Face Book.
