Friday

Well Thursday was a wintry day for Florida here in the mountains. It didn't much get out of the 40's most of the day which was overcast(we never saw any shadows) rainy, misty and wet. The cold dampness went right through your clothing when outside and we weren't out much as I finally lite the gas heater for this year. Ahhh what a difference to have heat. I had lite about a 1/2 dozen candles as well as had the oven on but that just wasn't enough to keep the inside warm and cozy.

We stayed in and read most of the day after our quiet times and a hearty breakfast of eggs and grits. I started another Sandra Brown book and finished it last night about 11:30, wow she is another interesting author and I usually don't like novels but I like the way she tells a story. Well had a lite lunch of boxed dried soup with a peanut butter sliced apple and then settled in to reading once again until after 5 PM before we started supper.

I did an inventory on our freezer as I want to use up as much before packing it back to Florida in less than 4 weeks. I'm hoping to pack back some fresh venison in my cooler. I did find a pack of cubed steak venison  that somehow got overlooked and Nancy chicken fried it for supper with fresh yellow squash and a salad, yeow that meat is the best ever. After the cleanup we decided to get in a little exercise outside and it seemed it had warmed up a little and the drizzle had gone away as well. We walked around the cabin property several times and it was enjoyable to get outside in the cold fresh air.

The skies cleared just about dark and I noticed some blue skies and then later the stars were brilliant with some moon shadows. Hopefully today we can get outside and get some yard work done as we get ready for company on Saturday. Despite all the cold damp weather we never got any frost.

Well that was about it as we hugged the heater for most of the day and Amy said it had cooled down quite a lot in Florida as well. It was the coolest it's been there since last May which is a start towards getting away from the high heat and humidity. The leaves continue to fall here and their color changes are beautiful. I did manage to peak at the Tigers vs the A's fifth and deciding game and the Tigers will now play the Red Sox's

 who knocked us(Rays) out of the post season for the pennant in the American League. The Pirates also were eliminated in the National league race, so its the Dodgers and the Cardinals for a 7 game playoff, LATER
