Well Friday was a busy day that started around a 6'ish roll out from the sack. After a cup of green tea and a few quiet moments I had a bowl of oatmeal with a banana before getting ready to ride out to the rec for some 2 plus hours of pickle ball. We had six players to start and quickly picked up 2 more so we had 2 courts in play for most of the next 2 hours. Wow what a workout and it didn't take long to work up a good sweat with the great play. I was made to feel welcomed by all and it didn't take long to get back in the groove with some nice long rallies.
I headed out for the library after the rec and picked up a couple new reads; one is about the James/Younger gang that terrorized the banks and railroads after the Civil War and their escape from a botched holdup in Minnesota(I read half of it during the afternoon while watching Sam in between reading him several books) and the second read is about the Seal rescue of kidnapped Jessica Buchanan. Both books look very interesting and the first book has you riveted to each page and there are old photos of the deceased and captured as well. Anyhow the girls(Nancy, Amy and GG) took off to the mall and shopped until around 2. Sam and I had lunch together, read books and he wanted to watch BOLT which gave me time to read as well.
After the girls got back Nancy drove GG home and once again stopped at the grocery for goodies for Saturday nights birthday celebration dinner. We chilled until the Amy and Tyler brought Ava and Sam for supper and then they spent the night with us. I grilled chicken breasts, and Nancy made their favorite macaroni and some cooked broccoli and cauliflower(the kids like them raw with ranch dressing). After the cleanup we headed outside to play with the neighbors stray cat that comes back to visit despite moving 2 doors down. Zorro is his name and he is very friendly and the kids love seeing and chasing him.
I headed in to watch the Ray's lose big time to the lowly Blue Jays in a bad way with 3 errors on their fielding. We were ahead to start with then let the game get out of hand and that makes our chances to make the playoffs even more interesting with just a few games to play. I put on a movie for the kiddos and then popped them some old fashion popcorn before their baths. We let them stay up until almost 10 and once we said prayers they were out like a light until 7:30 this AM. Needless to say after they went to bed it was shower time for me as well and shortly thereafter I was out, LATER
