Well Friday was quite unusual with me sleeping in until nearly 7 which caused me to abbreviate every thing to start the day as I wanted to be at the rec. by 8 for pickle ball. There really wasn't too much to write about but you know me I like to go on and on at times, anyhow Friday was another beautiful day with a little more humidity and temps slightly warmer but chilly to start the day. I wore my flannel shirt while riding to the rec. on my bike.
I did have my usual cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this short ramble and my quiet time lifting up several but did cut short any news updates and my Facebook time was almost nothing except to make birthday wishes. I got in two solid hours of pickle ball and left around 10 with a tired body. I made a stop at the library for some new reads and found a different author by the name of C.J. Box. I choose one of his books simply because he had a whole line of them on the shelves and the one I choose called PARADISE VALLEY was a good read thus far. I think I will read him for awhile as I'm about out of the Burke Books, oh well. I sat outside after lunch under the big oak tree in the shade reading for the next several hours.
After getting back from the rec. and library I hand watered the gardens and harvested a nice mess of collard greens and got them ready for the pot and then set the pot to cooking for the next 4-5 hours. My oh my were they ever delicious with this recipe that uses chicken broth instead of water for the liquid while cooking. I had enough leftover for lunch today. I grilled bone in pork chops that were about 2 inches thick with fresh rosemary on top while grilling and the two complimented each other perfect.
After the cleanup I set the sprinkler on the front yard grass as I wanted to watch the second game of the season of the Ray's vs Astro's. Well after losing the opening day game we won 4-2 last night in a good game. I did flip in between commercials to catch up on the Fox Cable News which is now the only news network that is not in collusion with the democrat party to promote their agenda of destroying our duly elected Potus Trump. By the way did you watch his rally in Michigan the night before and he pulled no punches in exposing the corruption of the deep state criminals of the Obama administration which corrupted the DOJ and FBI. Now with the illegal Mueller investigation over and one that exonerated Trump of the Russian's fiasco which was made up the DNC to assure Trump was never Potus he is going after them full bore. I hope those who started this will go to prison even if it goes all the way to Obama but I'm sure he will as always blame someone else; maybe even Bush as he was the first scape goat for this inept and fraud of a potus.
Well that was about it for Friday, LATER

Friday Morning
Well Thursday saw us with very nice temps through out the day once again as the front dropped dry cool air on us with a stiff breeze. Very unusual for nearly the end of March. The morning routines were about the same with a 6'ish roll out and then my quiet time before heading out to the rec. around 9 for three hours of pickle ball play. I was whupped afterwards then didn't do much the rest of the day except for a little garden work and then reading the afternoon away. I'm cutting this ramble short as I over slept this morning (Fri.) yeah for a change, LATER

Thursday Morning
Well Wednesday saw us with another change in the weather and temps almost instantly as a heavy rain storm came through just after I reached the rec. on my bike and pounded the roof with a heavy down pour for just a few minutes; the a strong northern breeze brought in cool temps the rest of the day. We once again opened the windows and doors and shut the a/c off and its still off this morning. I put a flannel shirt to sit a make this post.
The day started much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I made this post and then I spent some quiet time with my Creator lifting up several by name and giving thanks. All seem as well as can be expected. I haven't heard from Paw Paw in a few days but no news is good news as he is being cared for by his middle daughter Pat in W.Va. I got ready a little before 8 and pedaled out on my bike to the rec. ahead of some threatening clouds and a few sprinkles. I no sooner got inside when the skies opened up and we got a gully washers by the sound on the tin roof of the gym. The roof did leak in a few spots but the games went on. I got in two hours of play and when I left around 10 the sun was shining but much cooler with the breeze.
Since it rained I didn't have to water the garden until late afternoon when the sun and wind dried out the soil. I did harvest a goodie bag of veggies for a church friend of ours which Nancy took with her to her Bible study class in the evening. Amy and Eliza came for lunch around 1 and from that we were not hungry for supper so we just picked. I read the rest of the day and finished up a Burke book and started a non fiction book on Al Capone and Elliot Ness. Wow, what an interesting read about prohibition, the corruption in Chicago and New York, the gangland killings and the start of forensic study and investigations of bullets and gun rifling.
I read about half of the book and its titled SCARFACE and the UNTOUCHABLE. It's filled with photos some rather gory of the men and women of the era which was the 20's and the history of the families from the late 1800's. I'm now at the failure of the stock market and Capone is now in jail but he was quite the celebrity despite his Outfit being responsible for so much killings. He was a very wealthy individual for the period from his days of bootlegging and illegal whiskey making and corrupting those in the government.
I tuned into the FOX Cable news and listened to our POTUS in a live phone interview with Sean Hannity for nearly an hour. It's unbelievable of the contempt the MSM and the dem's have for this man and his attempt to MAGA. He mentioned he is going to release the documents and make it transparent of what the Obama administration did to thwart his campaign and then his presidency with the DOJ and FBI. There is no doubt the deep state attempted a coup which is treasonous including the intelligence community as well. The dem's and the biased fake MSM are still failing to understand the results of the Mueller report which exonerated this POTUS of any wrong doing with the Russians. They where reporting daily that he and his family as well as his associates were guilty and when found not to be guilty they are so disappointed because of their hatred for him and his polices. It really is a shame that we now have a political party(dems) that want this nation to fail so they can gain power and control, its unbelievable, LATER

Wednesday Morning
Well Tuesday saw us with the a/c back on as the humidity has once again invaded the area but not as bad as usual. I did set in the back yard during the afternoon under the big oak and read for a couple hours. There wasn't much going on except the usual morning routines which always start around a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I post this rag then spend some quiet moments with my Creator giving thanks for another day and then lifting up several by name. All seem as well as can be expected and we did speak with our "mountain mom" for a few after supper.
I headed out around 9'ish to the rec. as it was Tuesday and we have the gym until noon. I played awhile with some of the better B players until the A's arrived around 10 then played until almost noon. One of the players brought his son who is a hockey goalie and he had the quickest reflexes ever and picked up on the game very quick as he is also a tennis player. I managed to beat him and his dad in the final matches but they were close with long rallies. It was a fantastic workout and one of the better days for pickle ball play. It's too bad he has leave on Thursday for Canada where they are from, oh well. I think he is addicted to the game as it was his first time.
I got back and Nancy took off on her daily hike through the hood. It was still rather pleasant outside but of course walking on the asphalt reflects the heat so she was burning up when she got back to the house. I harvested lettuces which now are about gone for this season in Florida as the heat is taking over after the last week of cool temps. I also picked a couple of cukes and a hand full of tomatoes. I caught a squirrel jumping off the top of the fence to get in over the chickenwire to the tomato's of which yesterday he destroyed the tops of two plants then chewed several green tomato's as well as the vines. I've never heard of this until this year. I laid another row of chicken wire where he jumped into the plants to deter them but we will see if that works. They are the biggest pests ever.
Amy and Tyler bought their new/used 2014 F-150 4x4 sport pickup by and wow is it ever nice. Looks brand new on the inside and except for its being a work truck by the scratches inside the bed its beautiful. He wants to get a bed liner sprayed inside the bed. It had a vinyl roll top on the bed already. The bed is about a foot or so longer than my truck as his cab is a crew cab whereas mine is a club cab or vice versa. The back seat is shorter but the kiddos fit perfectly inside and both of the cab doors open in the back. It has low mileage at 30K which is nothing and its black in color. It does not have the center console seat which allows for a 6th person or 3 in the front like mine does which is a plus, oh well. It a very classy truck and the kiddos love it.
Well I got in a couple hours reading in the back yard which kept the squirrels at bay. I kept my BB gun handy and chased a few off during the afternoon. Betsy came by and I loaded her up with lettuces, kale and collards as they now need to be harvested again. I'm hoping we have some this evening for supper. We had some frozen shrimp so I peeled and deveined them and Nancy made a garlic butter sauce with fresh asparagus and put that over pasta for our supper, wow delicious is all I can say with some red pepper fakes and parmesan cheese added to the dish. After the cleanup we settled into the FOX Cable News and once again learn how the biased fake news networks and dem's are now demeaning the Mueller Report which they were hoping would indict our duly elected POTUS. It's unbelievable how they change their allegiance because the outcome was not to their agenda. I'm hoping the American folks realize we have a party and a MSM who have one goal in mind and that is to destroy the nation at the expense of destroying this POTUS Trump.
I watched a little of the Ray's vs Tigers and we won big 9-2 at home in the Trop. I think its still preseason but this is a good showing, LATER

Tuesday Morning
Well Monday was a fun day but we did see some humidity creep back into the setting, but it was still a gorgeous day with a nice breeze off the Gulf. We did something we hadn't done in 25 years and that was play tourist at John's Pass where thousands of folks who were mainly from up north were vacationing. I mentioned folks spend thousands of bucks to visit here and of course the friends we met there were also from up north renting a small house for big bucks. We live here and never visit. It was a pleasant experience as we ate lunch outside on the boardwalk next to the water with folks constantly moving about the boardwalk.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then lifted up several by name. All seem as well as can be expected at this point in time. I got ready and headed out on my bike just before 8 for the rec. and then played nearly 2 hours of pickle ball before heading home to hand water the garden before leaving around 10:30 to meet up with Toni and Mark who are our friends vacationing near John's Pass since December. We showed then a new card game which Nancy's cousin showed us call 31. We played several games as it was too early for lunch. Around 1'ish we walked down to the boardwalk which was about 10 minutes away on foot. It was just a pleasant day with beautiful temps and weather. The boardwalk was jumping with visitors.
We stopped at the Pirates Cove for burgers which were delicious and a little pricey but it was the ambiance which made it nice. We walked along the underpass to the beach and it was packed with beachgoers and then back up along the many shoppes. Needless to say the sun was shining bright and hot by the time we got back to their place sometime around 3:30. The a/c felt good after the hike and the humidity was starting to become vivid once again which is the usual for this time of the year. It has been very unusual this past week with the a/c off and temps in the 50's to start the day and staying in the 70's and little or no humidity. It was actually cold a few mornings.
They showed us a new dice game and while it takes awhile to learn the rules and the counting which has the winner reaching 10,000 points on the nose; nothing less or over that goal. I think we may have mastered it as Nancy was on fire the game and I stumbled into a win on the nose the second game. Amy called and needed us to watch the grands as they were traveling to Port Richey to look at a use F-150 truck which had low miles and a decent price tag. Trucks are so hard to find these days especially good used trucks. They found the one they wanted and drove it home last night. We fed the kiddos and then Nancy took them home so they could do their homework and get ready for bed. It was after 9 before she got home from watching them.
After the supper cleanup I watched the Fox Cable news and WOW is all I can say about what this Mueller Report concluded. It exonerated our Potus for the fake charges by the Obama DOJ and FBI and the fake news outlets are in hysteria and I think are complicit in their attempt to front these agencies in their corruption of bringing about a coup. It's almost unthinkable this could happen in America to our government but it did and now we will see the real collusion and obstruction perpetrated by the DNC with Obama and Hillary at the helm. There is so much hatred for our duly elected POTUS that its rampart within the democrat party and the leadership within the congress. Heads are going to fall and we will be surprised at the level of corruption and lack of respect for the constitution.
Folks, these who thought Hillary was going to win in 2016 the election were all in bed with the efforts of the corrupt Obama administration to see that she did win at all costs and to prevent Trump from winning and then to sabotage his presidency if he did win by making false and criminal charges that he was a Russian agent. This is Unbelievable. It's as if we were a banana republic seen in the third world countries and they nearly pulled this off using a biased special prosecutors and investigators but they could find NO evidence Trump colluded or obstructed. The shoe is now on the other foot and we will see the real collusion and corruption by the dem's as we the American people are fed up with this witch hunt and hoax. I predict heads are going to roll and hopefully a few of those who kept this hoax alive daily in the biased fake MSM especially CNN and MSNBC.
Well I tuned into the lightning vs Bruins and they were down 4-2 but came back in the last period to pull out another win 5-4. We have a few more games in the regular season and then the playoffs for the Stanley Cup. We are looking more and more like that Cup should be coming back to Tampa, LATER

Monday Morning
Well Sunday another beautiful day with cool temps and no humidity but plenty of sunshine. I started the day with a 5'ish roll out to be at the college for the load in for BridgePoint Church. We had tons of volunteers and I was out of there a little after 7 and headed home on my bike to get ready to head out with Nancy a little after 8 for the 9 AM service. We always have a gathering with all of the volunteers before the locals come to worship. Pastor Tim had an awesome message and one everyone should hear. We had two come to be baptized; one from each service that was not planned. His message was that strong and we saw several who were convicted by their emotions.
Well we each worked the second service with Nancy as a front door greeter and I was in the parking lot. We had good crowds for each service with some old faces we hadn't seen in awhile and several new faces as well. The spirit is moving in Seminole and we are thrilled to be a part of helping folks get closer to GOD. It was going on 1 when we got home and we had a fresh garden salad for our lunch. I harvested collards, lettuces, kale, cukes and tomato's for one of our dear friends who lives in the hood and she stopped by on her way home from church. I love blessing folks with our bounty from the garden.
After lunch we just chilled as I watched some March Madness and then Nancy and I both watched together a great close game later in the evening which is unusual for her. I did some hand watering after lunch but that was about it for the day. We still have the windows and doors open during the day which is unusual for this time of the years. These temps have been invigorating not only for us but the garden loves them as well. We are supposed to meet some old friends for lunch today(Mon.) over on the beach where they rent during a few winter months, LATER

Sunday Morning
Well I just got back from the load in at the college for BridgePoint Church and we had so many volunteers that it went quickly and I got home a half hour earlier than usual, awesome help.
Saturday was a fun day that started with a before 6'ish roll out to my usual routines that start with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger root while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator lifting up several by name and then giving thanks for my many blessings. All of my regulars seem as well as can be expected. I got ready and headed out around 8 for the rec. as we pickle ballers have the gym once again now that youth basketball is over on Saturdays. We had two courts in action and a newcomer who just happened to be our BridgePoint campus pastor. He is a natural athlete and quickly became a force to be reckoned with and became addicted to the game in just one two hour session. That's what this game will do to you as its that exciting and fun to play. After two hours I called it a day and headed to welcome Sam and Eliza for a visit as Amy and Tyler attended a funeral for a church member. Ava was at a birthday party for a school mate.
After they left around 1'ish I settled into hand watering the gardens then we decided to vacuum the truck and give it a thorough cleaning, washing and waxing and cleaning the windows. The sun was hot but the clear crisp air was invigorating. Nancy was on the phone with everyone so I decided to watch a little of the NCAA March Madness games until we decided to head out to the Texas Roadhouse eatery for some supper. We decided to share a two item meal which was perfect as she got a salad and we shared a nice size ribeye and half a rack of ribs. I got steak fries and we shared that but their hot dinner rolls are the key for me as I had three of them and they were so hot out of the oven they burned your fingers. I left a few steak fries which is unusual as I'm a plate cleaner, oh well. When you leave filled with steak and ribs for about 25 bucks thats a great deal these days.
We made a stop at Audi's for some goodies before heading home. The air was quickly cooling down as sunset approached which is so unusual for this time of the year. We can only hope the humidity stays away. Well I watched the Lightning lose for the first time in 7 games in a close hard fought game that found them down 3-0 in the first period but they came back to make it 4-3 game. The Florida State Seminoles advanced with a big win while the Gators were soundly whipped. I enjoy the college games in basketball but would not walk to the driveway to watch the pros play. The fake MSM is having a melt down along with the liberal dem's who want our Potus to be destroyed after the Mueller investigation. The hatred for our duly elected Potus is mind boggling and thus for this nation and its so evident of the collusion between them and the left along with several newspapers to bring him down. GOD help US(A), LATER

Saturday Morning
Well Friday was another chilly morning to start and it stayed rather cool all day with a stiff breeze and no humidity. Wow what perfect weather for working or playing outside. I would not say its the best beach weather for the spring breakers but the sun is shinning and no rain in the fore cast.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then lifted up several to my Creator by name. All seem well. I got ready and headed out on my bike a little before 8 to the rec. for a good two hours of pickle ball. We had the perfect number of good players and I never sat down during the morning play. I headed home to piddle around in the gardens and yards and giving everything a good drink as the breeze really dries things out.
I didn't have much on my plate so after lunch I pulled up a chair and sat under the oak reading and napping for a couple hours. I picked the last of the half runner green beans and for some reason they just do not taste like the ones I grow or buy in the mountains. Anyhow we fixed them along with a pound of deer steaks for our supper. Nancy chicken fried them and my oh my were they ever delicious. After the cleanup we settled into the Fox Cable news network and learned the Mueller witch hunt is over with his final report delivered to the AG with no further indictments recommended.
Well does that ever put a different twist to the dem's hoax perpetrated by the obama admin. to cover for Hillary and destroy our duly elected Potus. Trump said all along there was no collusion or obstruction but the biased fake news media used the investigation to tear down the man and destroy the nation, all in collusion with the dem's and their party hacks. They are such liars and proponents of the left its almost sedition in my book and they are rightly described as the fake news networks. Now maybe we will investigate the real obstruction, collusion with a foreign adversary and corruption within the last administration. The main stream media is in a big trouble with their advocates and pundits to destroy this Potus with their lies and being a front for the dem's. Finally the truth will come out and hopefully some will go to jail.
The lives that were destroyed by this hoax and witch hunt is unbelievable and the very idea that two of our top law enforcement agencies were compromised by the obama administration to cover for Hillary along with the coup attempt is treasonous. I sure hope my liberal friends wake up to see what could happen to anyone of us when government goes amuck with crooks in the department heads and to think they did this to a sitting Potus. Our constitution was subverted as well as our rule of law with a double standards for the elite and hopefully this will be made known to all. Thank GOD the real evidence is coming out about the corruption in the last administration and the cover up, LATER

Friday Morning
Well Thursday was another chilly morning to start with and lots of bright sunshine and a stiff breeze which lasted most of the day. I had a good 2 plus hours of pickle ball then spent the rest of the day working in the back yard after getting my ears lowered at the barbershop. It was a day for hair cuts etc. as Nancy was off to her hair lady getting her self beautified.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator. All that I lift up daily by name seem to be doing well but there are a few impromptu ones who are not doing great especially those police officers who have been gunned down. All of these police shooting and killings started with the last potus honoring a bunch of thugs and totally disrespecting this profession with his biased comments and inviting them to the white house. It was another one of his divide the nation racist attributes.
I headed out around 9'ish to the rec. on my bike and it was very chilly as I needed a flannel shirt to help stay warm against the cold breeze. I got in another great workout and then headed home and to the barber shop. Nancy was still gone so I rode my bike. I took my barber some tomato's as she didn't plant a garden this year with having a new grand child. She and her daughter run a small shop and has now been in business since I retired from the patrol in '04. I got back close to 1'ish and had a bite to eat then headed outside as it was a perfect day for weeding and raking the back yard of the unwanted weeds and grasses.
Amy and Eliza came for lunch and they had the Zuppa soup. I harvested two neighbors lettuces, kale and gave them tomato's as we are being over run by everything which is coming in. I picked another dozen tomato's and now noticed the plants on the other side of the garden are starting to ripen which will add more to the harvest. The lettuces are starting to mature and need harvesting and the collards are now ready for harvesting again as well. It seems these last several cool days have just invigorated all of the plants whereas a week or so ago I thought the garden was winding down.
We finished up the pot roast for supper from last night which was so delicious even as leftovers. The garden carrots were so sweet and delicious soaked in the beef juices over night and were just as tasty as the day before. After the cleanup I headed out to hand water the gardens and the front yard as I mowed them during the afternoon. Everything looks so green and healthy. I came in around 7'ish and watched a little of the FOX Cable news in between the Lightning vs Hurricanes who were playing in N.C. I have family and friends who follow the Hurricanes but it was a long night for them as the Lightning continued being the best team in the NHL with 6-3 win.
I showered in between the periods and was ready for some horizontal lab at the end of the game, LATER

Thursday Morning
Well Wednesday was both a fun day on the pickle ball court and a work day as I helped my next door neighbor take down the wooden fence between our property as he wants to replace it with a new fence which he and a friend plus me will build from scratch. The weather was perfect for working outside and I did just that for several hours.
I started the day with a before 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All seem as well as can be expected with their health and conditions. I got ready and headed out on my bike a little before 8 to the rec. where 4 of us A players stayed on the court for two hours wearing each other out with some good play. I was whupped by the time I got back to the house and rested for a couple by hand watering the gardens. Bobby, my neighbor mentioned he was taking down the old wooden fence which was in disrepair so I volunteered to help him as I owed him for helping me put the roof on my shed a month or so ago.
We started around 10:30 and took a lunch break then finished up around 2'ish after loading the fence on his truck and he carried to the dump. The truck had a full load and we had it tied down tight. I cleaned up and then Nancy and I headed to Sam's for gas and some goodies. Gas has gone from 2.19 to 2.51 here which is the start of the summer driving season with spring break. Hopefully it will not go much higher as summer approaches. Speaking of summer it felt like a cool spring morning and it stayed in the low 70's all day long with almost no humidity. We shut the a/c off and opened the windows and doors and its supposed to be like this the rest of the week. It'a actually rather chilly here when I ride out on my bike to the rec. requiring me to wear a flannel shirt against the cold breeze. The garden loves this weather and I harvested another half dozen tomato's, a couple dozen carrots albeit some were small in length, 3-4 inches as well as checked on the cukes and there are more set. This has been the best growing season in quite a while.
The front yard grass is green and so vivid and the crepe myrtle tree is in full foliage and looks as if its put on some height as well. The flowers are in full color along the front of the house and the hibiscus is also showing vibrant colors as well. Nancy had a chuck roast roasting for a couple hours along with white taters and carrots and the smell was mouth watering to say the least. After the cleanup she got ready for a new Bible study class at the rec. with 18 or so other gals from BridgePoint and was gone until 8:30. I came in around 7'ish after hand watering and watched the FOX Cable News and almost threw up when I saw Donna Brazile on the show giving her two cents of corruption for the DNC on what I think is the most unbiased news network but now I'm having second thoughts. We do not need anymore liberals telling us lies and who gave the questions to Hillary then lied about it, oh well.
I watched the Lightning play the Capitals who won the Stanley Cup last year beating out our team at the end and we won last night in overtime 5-4. What a hard fought game on their home ice in D.C. We have to play them again in a week or so and then head to the playoffs. Well that was about it for the day as we see where the economy is booming again. Seems like our POTUS used his "magic wand" as the last potus said he would need to turn the country around and things are great but if you listen to the libs and the left it's not. The fake biased networks will never report the truth about our POTUS Trump whose policies are working, LATER

Wednesday Morning
Well Tuesday was a bit dreary with little or no sunshine with the light rain at times through out the day. It was on the chilly side as well with highs in the 60's. I don't believe we got all that much measurable rain but I didn't have to hand water as everything stayed damp.
I started the day much the usual with a before 6 roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble and then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting several up by name. All seems as well as can ne expected as I've nothing to the contrary. I got ready around 8:30 and headed out on my bike to rec. for close to 2 1/2 hours of pickle ball play with the better players in the group. We have the gym and extra 2 hours on Tue. and Thur.
I left the rec. worn plumb out and pedaled home in a light mist. I did harvest a nice mess of carrots for Amy who was coming for lunch. I also pulled a couple small egg plants and a couple green tomato's for lunch as well. Nancy fries them together and they are superb and I doctored mine up with a fresh raw jalapeno pepper, parsley and cilantro. We each also had a bowl of leftover Zuppa soup. Eliza Faye loves this soup as well. After they left to pick up Sam from School I read for an hour and may have napped when I heard Nancy say what happened. We learned at the very same intersection where Amy rear ended another car a couple years ago Tyler did the same thing with the little civic. Luckily he struck a large pickup truck in the rear and there was no damage to the truck so the driver didn't want a report which saved Tyler's license and a ticket. He was able to drive the civic home but the hood and front end is damaged. The car is nearly 20 years old but functions well as a second vehicle. We bought the car for Amy brand new when she graduated from school and it's been a great vehicle.
I believe they could fix the car with some salvaged parts as the motor seems alright but its their decision. Anyhow no one was hurt except for some pride which we all can get over that. I worked many crashed like that over the years and some were very serious involving death and injury. I always gave the rear vehicle the ticket as its their responsibility to look back before starting forward from a turn lane, Oh well.
We just had a fresh salad for supper after the large lunch of egg plant, green tomato's and Zuppa and we didn't eat until after 1PM when Amy got here. We sat and watched the Fox Cable News after supper and then I headed in to shower and then watch the hockey channel. The Lightning was off but will play tonight Wed. and Thurs. as the season draws to a close before the playoffs. We will be in the playoffs once again with the best record in the league and hopefully bring the Stanley Cup back to Tampa, ALTER

Tuesday Morning
Well Monday saw us with lots of clouds and much cooler temps. I did wear a flannel shirt when I rode out to the rec at 8 on my bike and at times in the shade it was a bit chilly. We did see some sun after lunch which made for great yard working.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my routines that start with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet moments with my Creator. I lifted up several by name then gave thanks for my many blessings and all seem as well as can be expected. We did speak with our "mountain mom" for a few and its really wet, muddy and still cold there in the mountains. She was down off the mountain on Sunday and noticed several of the flowering trees are in full bloom but none yet on the mountain and no leaf buds yet as well. I'm getting antsy about heading north which will be in about two months or so with March more than half gone; we leave around the third of June this year which is a week earlier than last year.
I headed out to the rec. around 8 and got in two solid hours of pickle ball play with some really good players and then headed home to work in the gardens and front yard. I pulled another half dozen tomato's and started giving them away to neighbors as well as carrots and sugar peas. I had to trim back a couple tomato plants as they were out of control and falling away from the supports but they are just loaded with small ones. The cukes are really starting to set fruit and the jalapeno are going crazy with buds and new peppers. I eat one every day if possible and even take one with me when we eat out at restaurants. This weather is fantastic for the garden. I dried some seeds from this one tomato plant that I bought and hopefully if will produce this summer in the mountains as its doing here. I know I've picked 30-40 and its still producing and the fruit is beautiful in size and uniformity.
Well I worked in the front yard on my knees digging this one stubborn weeds that has a white flower which means its getting ready to reseed itself. I dug and pulled up a 5 gallon bucket or more of them before wearing out my knees. The crepe myrtle tree is in full foliage and looks great. There was a time when Nancy thought it would not make in the center of the old oak stump but its doing wonderful thus far. The area of the old tree stump has filled in with a good cover of grass and weeds and I think this grass will survive the summer while we are gone.
Nancy made a huge pot of Zuppa tos cana soup using my fresh kale( Olive Garden potato soup) for our supper and it was delicious. I put away three bowls only which wasn't bad since I ate nothing with it. That is one soup I could eat every week and my kale is so beautiful and full which adds to the flavor. I sat and read for an hour or so under the big oak in the back yard which is now in full foliage as well. The birds singing and fresh air were intoxicating and I even dozed for a few at times.
After the supper cleanup I tuned into the FOX CABLE NEWS and got the real scoop on whats happening in America and around the world. The mass shooting are being attributed to our Potus Trump because the left fails to point the finger at the real culprits; themselves. There is so much vitriol for this Potus it's beyond comprehension and now the left is pushing white supremacy again as another cause. Monday Morning
Well Sunday was another fine day with some overcast and cooler temps but all in all a super day especially at church with worship, lunch out and then chilling the rest of the day.
I started the day very early with a 5'ish roll out as I rode my bike to the college to help with the load in and set up of BridgePoint Church and then headed home afterwards to get ready to head out a little after 8 for our weekly "huddle" before the first service starts at 9 AM. Nancy and I headed in to worship the first service then she headed to the Kidspoint area where she assisted with the 1-2 year olds and I helped in the parking lot and then after the service I helped with breaking down the flags and info barriers along side the road and loaded them on a truck for storing for next weeks service. It takes a lot of volunteers to put these two services on each Sunday. Our crowds are awesome and getting larger each Sunday and we are expecting and anticipating huge crowds on Easter Sunday.
We met Dan and Carol after he got back from feeding his dad around 1'ish and then drove them to the new 31 Irish Pub in Seminole Center for lunch. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get a table as it was their grand opening weekend. I had the Shepard's pie which was delicious and a little pricey and Nancy's burger was nice also a little pricey. Everyone's meal was very tasty and the menu was just a starter one for the grand opening. Lots of folks were in their green outfits, etc.
We dropped them off then I chilled while Nancy headed to Wal-Mart for some items which are much cheaper than Publix's. I watched some NCAA basket ball, the stock car race and then part of a movie before she got home with several sacks of food and items. I wondered who were we feeding this week, Oh well. We need to start eating down the freezer and the pantry as its getting closer to heading out to the cabin. She is once again making plans to do some renovations there but we will see as now she wants to get rid of the upstairs carpet and make the floor white. I'm not too sure about her plans but we do need to change the drab carpet plus it old and worn and I want to see about adding an upstairs shower in the bathroom if its possible.
Well I headed into read until it was lights out for me around 9:30 since I was up so early in the morning, LATER

Sunday Morning
Well we got done early this AM from the load in for BridgePoint Church at the college so I'm giving a short Saturday ramble. It was another gorgeous day with plenty of sunshine a little humidity but a nice breeze kept it in the high 70's for most of the day. The a/c is on but it's very tolerable outside. I got in a good long bike ride after sleeping in until nearly 8 AM. Wow that was a first in many moons but after getting little or sleep the night before it was understandable.
We did our morning routines, quiet times then Nancy made some eggs for breakfast I of course added a fresh homegrown tomato and jalapeno pepper to mine which was awesome. I also took a fresh jalapeno pepper with me to the Outback eatery when we went out for supper around 4 ish after skipping any lunch. The pepper is good on a baked tater and our server mentioned they have fresh jalapeno's as well for anyone who requests one. She too loved them on a tater. We had a great meal of prime rib for Nancy and the special of a steak and lobster for me. The tail was about 4 bites but the steal was grilled to perfection and while it was just a 6 oz. it was plenty with a baked tater. We splurged and shared a decant dessert of a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream; don't remember what it was called but oh so good.
We came back and I flipped the TV between college round ball and then the Lightning played the Capital team which beat them last year for the cup; we played hard and beat them 6-3. What a hard fought game, LATER

Saturday Morning
Well March is about half way gone and before we know it June will be here and we will be packing for the cabin. I'm ready and getting excited just thinking about the mountains once again although I will miss everyone here and my garden.
We got back from Brandon around 9'ish and got ready to head out to the beach with Amy, Sam and Eliza. We picked them up around 10:30 after I hand watered my garden and headed out. The beach was perfect with just enough of a breeze to keep the boiling heat from cooking you. The water was cold to touch but once I got in, it was perfect for a good swim. The kiddos wanted me to bury them up to their necks in the sand and they really enjoyed that and then we took a hike up the beach. Eliza and Sam were having so much fun skipping and jumping on the sand and into the water and chasing the huge flocks of birds. We stopped at the Seabird Sanctuary and looked at the owls, hawks, pelicans and vultures when a small bird in one of the shade trees pooped on Eliza's head. Thankfully there was a water spigot right there and I washed it off but she was ready to go right away. We all had a laugh about her getting pooped on.
We dropped them off a little after 1 then headed home. I piddled around in the gardens after a lunch of salad and then took a little nap trying to catch up on the nights sleep I missed in Brandon. I forgot my ear plugs and along with a strange bed I didn't get any sleep so the nap was nice. We heated up leftovers for supper then I headed out to mow the yards and fertilize them as the forecast is for some rain over the weekend and the temps to drop into the 70's, yeow. I worked outside until 8'ish and watched a little of the FOX Cable News then hit the showers. It was close to 9:30 and I must have fallen asleep watching the news when Nancy woke me up so I hit the sack for good.
It was 8 this morning when I woke up, wow that is a first in many years and it felt so good, LATER

Friday Morning
Well Thursday was rather a fun day that started much the usual to my daily routines but ended with us spending the night at Bobby and Katie's house in Brandon where we watched the grands over night. I headed out to pickle ball around 9'ish and played until nearly 11:30 before heading home to grill some marinated chicken breasts to take with us for supper and to hand water the gardens. I picked another half dozen tomato's as well as some cucumbers before we headed out around 2.
The trip to Brandon was easy with no back up's or slow downs and we got there after a stop at Publix's for a treat before bedtime for the grands. We unloaded the truck with our stuff for the over nighter then headed out to pick up the grands from their mothers gated community. She has become less hostile and threatening the last few weeks which has made it easier on all of us. She and her new husband have a beautiful large place not too far from where Bobby lives.
We spoke with Bobby in California on the way to the house with the grands and they were tickled to see in the almanac where they were in comparison to him and Katie. Bobby said the place is just gorgeous in Napa Valley and a chauffeur and car where waiting for them in San Francisco to drive them to their hotel. We gave Annsley a snack as she would eat later after her gymnastics workout but Gabe and us ate grilled chicken and yellow rice before heading out to the ball park a little before 6. The team was short two coaches so they ask me to help and I coached third base. I hope with my help they won 8-4 over a team who beat us last time.
Well we got back and fed Annsley and then got the kiddos ready for bed after showers and had them in bed after prayers around 9:15 or so. I awakened them this morning (FRI) at 6:40 and got then breakfast, packed their lunched and got them out the door by 7:15 for Katie's mom Lynn who teaches at their school. We packed up, cleaned up and left the house around 8'ish then got back here to Seminole around 9:30. We picked up Amy and Sam and Eliza and headed for the beach, LATER

Thursday Morning
Well Wednesday found us entertaining house guests until 9:30 then it was clean once again and make ready the house. I did not go to the gym because of the time they left, so I did get in a nice long bike ride through the 'hood. The temp was almost perfect with it in the low 60's to start the day and stayed in the low 70's for most of the day with a strong east breeze. We opened the windows and doors but by late evening we shut the house up and turned on the a/c as we were heading out for supper with friends at the Bonefish Grille.
We sat in the kitchen and did our morning routines while the guest had the other side of the house. They finally came out after their morning showers and had some breakfast and we sat and talked until they decided it was time to head to the airport where they had to return their rental car and get ready for their flight back to PA. We love having guests but its also nice to have the house back to your self. I piddled around in the garden harvesting more tomato's and another cucumber which just thrills me. It's been years since I've had any to produce on the vine. I did pull some weeds and then harvested Amy a nice bunch of collards. I will dig more carrots and take them with us to Brandon as we head over there this afternoon to watch Annsley and Gabe over night while Bobby and Katie are off to California for a 4 day vacation. We will take them to their respective venues this evening and spend the night then come back home on Friday morning.
We picked up the Botbyl's and headed to Largo where we met the Tracy's for supper at 6. I had my usual fare of the corn chowder and bang bang shrimp with a helping of their sour dough bread. I brought my own fresh jalapeno pepper to chop up in my chowder. Nancy's tummy wasn't doing well for some reason so she just had the chowder and some bread. It was going on 8 when everyone decided to head home and not gather to play games. We tuned into the FOX News and learned the deep state is being exposed even more with revelations from earlier closed door testimony and emails that now implicate the Obama white house and his cabinets of the AG, DOJ and FBI. I think we are starting to see the real collusion between these heads to help Hillary win the election and keep Trump from winning and the "insurance" is the Russian dossier to discredit Trump. Finally the corruption is being exposed and hopefully Hillary will be throughly investigated like she should have been in the first place.
Well that was about it for the day as I watched some NHL. The lightning was playing away and past my bedtime so I'll read about this AM, LATER

Wednesday Morning
Well Tuesday was a fun day with once again nice weather. It was a bit overcast until mid morning which kept the high heat down and then a nice breeze in the late evening really made it quite comfortable to be outside. Nancy's cousin Chris and husband Bill came around lunchtime.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. All seem well as I write. I headed out to the rec. on my bike and got in two good hours of pickle ball play with the better players as we had the gym an additional two hours. Wow, I left whupped with a wet shirt. I came back and noticed where the old tree was the underground stump is the home to termites and they were swarming by the thousands. The lizards where having a field day but I quickly fill up the bean sprayer with insecticide and sprayed them. Hopefully that put an end to them for now.
We had a nice lunch of sandwich meat from the deli and lots of fresh garden veggies and dip. Then we decided to ply cards. They taught us a new game called 31 which is fun and fast but requires to start with three quarters. The last person in at the end of the game get the pot with the quarter. We played it again last night with Betsy and Gus who met us for supper at Millers Ale House. We taught them Euchre and the gals won the rubber match and then we played Spades and the guys whupped the gals handily. Spades is a more thought provoking game with partners in the mix. It was a great day of playing games and eating.
Millers had a Tuesday special of a sirloin steak which was delicious and tender for 9 bucks with a baked tater and slaw. It was perfect and prepared just right at rare to medium. Everyone had the steak except Chris who had the fish and chips and all of us were pleased and the price was right as well. We sat out under the porch area while waiting for Betsy and Gus and had an adult beverage and the breeze was perfect as we chilled and watched various sports on the many TV's. We all came back to our house for dessert and coffee and then played 31 a couple times. Nancy and Bill were winners.
It was after 10 when Betsy headed out with Gus and I hit the showers and watched some TV until 11'ish. I'm not a fan of eating late especially a large meal late in the evening so I tossed and turned most of the night, oh well. We will meet up with the Tracy's and the Botbyl's again this evening at the Bonefish was a birthday meal for Carol and Nancy so once again it will be a late evening meal. Oh well such as it is. Chris and Bill will leave this morning for the airport and then back to cold Pennsylvania, LATER

Tuesday Morning
Well Monday was a bit foggy to start but it soon burned off and the sunshine and humidity once again came forth. The a/c is back on and the dry air has gone which was so nice for a couple of days. I got in a good workout at the rec. as the gym is back open after being closed for a week due to Pow Wow which was a big success again this year. The weather held for a change and the parking lots at the library and the college was filled with hundreds of vehicles.
I started the day much the usual with my routines that start with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and then lifting up several by name. All of which seem as well as can be expected. We tried to call Paw Paw but Pat was busy doing her retirement thing as well as being a care giver to him which I know is full time job. We spoke with Helen our "mountain mom" and she is still cold from all of the wind, rain, snow and ice this winter and there is more to come next week according to her. She said Jonquils are up and they are beautiful which is a good sign Spring is on the way. I'm getting antsy about heading to the cabin as it only a couple months away and if this heat keeps up I'll be ready much quicker.
I headed out on my bike for a good two hours of pickle ball around 8 then made a stop at the library for a couple new reads by a new author I found and really like. James Lee Burke is his name and he writes about the down home issues found in small western towns around the turn of the century and into the '30. I've read three books so far and love the way he writes and the shelf at the library has several more. I piddled around in the garden picking beans, pulling carrots, tomato's and lettuces and kale. Nancy made a nice plate of some of them for the grands who were coming for lunch as they are out of school this week for spring break. They are growing so fast and Eliza has her dance recital on the first of June so we can come a week earlier to the cabin than last year.
The evening cooled off nice and with the time change I worked outside after supper in the front and back yards. The grass is really growing and with the fertilizer it has a deep green color and the Crepe Myrtle is in almost full foliage as well. The Petunias add so much color to the front yard with the Azaleas in full bloom and soon the Confederate Jasmine will give us some delicious fragrance. That was about it for the day as I tuned into Fox until 7'ish and then watched the Lightning beat a good Maple Leaf team on their home ice 6-2. We are heading for the playoff's and hopefully will bring the Cup back to Tampa once again as this team is on fire, LATER

Monday Morning
Well Sunday was a busy whirlwind day that found me at the college at 6 AM for the load in for BridgePoint Church then back again at 8 for the get ready for the 9 AM service then Nancy and I worked the second service. With the new times for our services we were done a half hour earlier so we headed home around noon and had a bite to eat before going back to the rec. center where the Pow Wow festival was in its final day. BridgePoint had a tent so Nancy and I manned that along with another gal until 3 PM handing our info, candy and small gifts to several who stopped by. There were a few who were very interested in our church.
After the rec. we headed home to get ready for the Tracy's and the Botbyl's who were coming for supper. One associate who we met a couple years ago and was close friends with Kathryn finally succumbed to the cancer that had ravaged her body for the past couple of years. There was a memorial service for her in the area and we had planned to attend when the need arose at the rec. for the church. We decided to meet the need and then have our friends for a supper of lasagna, salad and crusty bread.
Danielle brought baby Palmer by so Carol and Dan could babysit and we got to love up on the sweet baby. She is just so cute and so aware of her surroundings at just 4 months. Patrick never did get down as he was spending a father/son day with Ryan in Dunedin working on his car to get ready to sell. They are getting rid of their fuel efficient Prius and getting and SUV. We had an enjoyable supper then all headed out before dark. I watched some sports on the tube then dozed until it was time to head to the bedroom and read until lights out for me at 9:30. I did not sleep well the night before due to eating late and then with the "spring ahead" in the time change; I checked the clock it seems every hour so as to not be late for the load in at the college.
Well we have one more night with guests coming on Tuesday and then we will be calendar free for a few days. On Thursday we will spent the night in Brandon with Annsley and Gabe as Bobby and Katie travel to California for a get away vacation he won with his company. That will be exciting for everyone as we will take Anns to gymnastics and then go to Gabe's game and then get them ready for school the next morning, LATER

Sunday Morning
Well we got done early at the load in for BridgePoint so I'll make a post for Saturday's activities. I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my usual routines that start with a cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator. All seem well with those I lift up daily. I was scheduled to help with the Pow Wow parade representing BridgePoint and our involvement in the community so I along with two other men met at 7:30 with other folks who would be lining up the floats and units for the parade which started at 10. We had more help than units in the parade which lasts about 15 minutes at the most as it travels from the mall to the rec. area and disbands.
I piddled around afterwards in the garden and yards hand watering and harvesting tomato's which are now becoming ripe almost every day. I pulled some carrots and they too are maturing and have a deep orange color with a wonderful smell. There wasn't much to do after watering so I read for a couple hours sitting outside under the oak in the back yard. We were heading over to Amy's around 5'ish for a family dinner for Sam's birthday. Tyler had ribs on the smoker and Amy had mac and cheese, broccoli, crusty bread and we brought a garden salad and the birthday cake. The grands had a great time playing and visiting with one another. It was late when we ate as Bobby and Gabe had ball practice until 5'ish then it was an hour ride over. With the time change it was after 7 when we sat down to eat and for some reason I'm not crazy about eating late anymore. I tossed and turned through the night from the food but also from the time change and expecting to get up an hour early, oh well.
It was a fun evening and its always great with the grands get together. We watched a little of the Lightning game and they were winning when I turned the lights out at 10:30, LATER

Saturday Morning
Well I must say Friday was one of the nicest days yet for this year; no humidity, lots of sunshine with temps into the low 80's by late afternoon. Awesome day. I got in a good 2 hour workout at a different location than the rec. for pickle ball with all top notch players, many of whom I had played against and with over the years. I held my own and won more games than I lost with different partners. It was after lunch time before I got back to the house and a bite of lunch.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet time with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. I now have a new grand nephew just born to Halley Jo in Colorado. She and Cody now have two boys and both are doing well. Everyone else is doing O.K. to the best of my knowledge. I spoke with sister Pat who is caring for Paw Paw and she said he is holding his own as well with some minor issues but the VA is giving him good medical care.
I piddled around in the garden and the front yard as the new Crepe Myrtle tree is leafing out and the front yard grass is taking off spreading a nice solid green yard. I'm hoping it will stay this way since we have basically got rid of the St.Augustine grass which is susceptible to cinch bugs bugs and mold. Last year when we got home the front yard was brown and bare in spots. The garden continues to do great. I harvested lettuces, kale, beet greens and Swiss chard for a huge salad as we head over to Amy's this coming evening for a family birthday dinner for Sam. Tyler is smoking baby back ribs and all of grands will be together. Should be a fun evening as always.
I'm heading out to help with the Pow Wow Parade this morning representing BridgePoint Church in the community and then Nancy and I will be at a tent handing out small gifts and candy at the rec. on Sunday after church for BridgePoint. We want to be a partner in the community for special events and to welcome folks to worship with us. That was about it for the day as watched the Fox Cable News channel after supper. I did get in some read time in the afternoon but except for leaving to play pickle ball we stayed around the house, LATER

Friday Morning
Well Thursday was a cold one to start the day with frost on the neighbors roof tops. My garden did not suffer any of the effects as the trees kept the ice away and I'm not sure how and why but it's done that a couple other times this winter. It gradually warmed to the low 70's by late evening and then after sunset the temps dropped again as we were at Gabe's ball game in Brandon until 8:30 before heading home.
I started the day much the usual except for sleeping in under the warm covers for an extra half hour so it was around 6:30 when I slipped out leaving Nancy in bed. I had my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then lifted up several by name to my Creator after giving thanks for my blessings. All seem well as can be expected. We didn't do much during the morning except stay in and keep warm and doing our morning routines. Since the rec. is closed I've missed the daily morning exercise so we took a nice long hike through the hood for a couple miles just before lunch. It had warmed up to where short sleeves were inviting but I knew if we headed out later in shorts we would be cold when darkness fell.
After a light lunch we caught up on some small chores as I hand watered the gardens and picked a couple more tomato's which were starting to turn. I did find one the bugs had entered the bottom and caused it to rot but those have been few this year for whatever reason. This is best year for harvesting large beautiful tomato's and the vines are loaded with all various sizes. We headed out around 2:30 which made such a difference from last weeks fiasco of over two hours to go 50 miles while today took us just over an hour. We made a stop at Publix in Brandon for some items for our supper which we ate around 5'ish with Bobby, Katie and Gabe. Annsley was off to gymnastics for two hours and she would eat later. She did snack before her class.
The game was great and we led for a couple innings but some errors on over throws gave the victory in the last inning by one run at 15-14. Gabe made some good hits but the other team was better fielders in the end and so it was their second loss thus far, LATER

Thursday Morning
Well Wednesday was a beautiful sunny day but with a chill that hung around after a 43* start. It stayed in the low 60's for a high and this morning March 7th there is frost on the neighbors roof tops, Yikes. I've never seen this at this time of the year. Where are all the global warming idiots? Oh well that's for another day. The rain made for everything to be green again in the hood with the oaks leafed out and a few of the other trees with lots of buds as well.
We didn't do much of anything for the morning as it was too cold to venture out until after lunch when we headed to Wal-Mart for Sam's birthday gift for Saturday evening when we officially celebrate with Bobby's family and us with a family dinner. The grands will have a grand time as always. The stiff breeze made even the sunshine feel cold and I can not imagine what its like up north with temps in the teens and snow on the ground. I do remember those days on the farm and they were not pleasant at times.
I did hand water the gardens later in the evening and picked a couple more ripening tomato's. So far they have been bug free with just the one infected and they are the largest ones I've ever grown and the plant is just loaded a well. The other plants have many small ones but this one plant is growing pound tomatoes and I'm going to save some seeds for a planting for the summer garden. We basically cleaned up leftovers during day as we had sandwiches from Tuesday evening get together as well as from the Sunday night dinner out and then of course salads from the garden.
Today we broke down and promised we would attend a week day game in Brandon for Gabe but we will leave an hour earlier to avoid the rush hour. We will just hang out at Bobby's until game time. I'm afraid its going to be a chilly evening no doubt especially after the last two evenings. We didn't get in any exercise for the day either which found me finishing the last of the Lehane Book's and starting with a new author James Burke. He has lots of books on the shelf and some find the settings in the West with a Western theme. So far the first one is a decent read which is quite different from Lehane and the genre I'm been reading.
Well we watched the Fox Cable News and got the real scoop and the dem's are determined to impeach our duly elected POTUS because they hate the fact he is exposing how incompetent they and the republicans politicians have been the past couple of administrations have been. He has done more in two years than the last two in 16 and we now see the results of their incompetence at the border. There is a major crisis there and the fake msm along with the dem's and rino's are so full of anger they are allowing the nation to disintegrate to get at this POTUS, LATER

Wednesday Morning
Well winter is back on the sun coast with cold rain and overcast skies through most of the day. It even got colder during the night which I never thought we would see again this year especially after reaching nearly 90 a couple of days, oh well. Nancy's cousin and husband came in from Pa. and brought this with them but of course they left below freezing temps and snow on the ground so this was a heat wave to them. We got another inch or more of rain which helped to wash away the pollen and fuzzies.
We sort of slept in to start the day since we had house guests which changed our morning routines. I did most of my blog at the kitchen table and an abbreviated quiet time and news updates as well as Facebook scanning. They got up shortly after we did and we sat and talked until Nancy decided to fry bacon and make a huge breakfast. The rain was heavy at times and oh so cold. I'm sure the folks north of us had snow from this front. The sun did appear briefly a couple times after lunch but just momentarily. We took off after playing a couple rounds of Euchre to visit one of their favorite landmarks on Clearwater Beach where their folks loved to eat and mingle called Frenchy's. I had never been there so we made the trip up the beaches to the place and got seated right away since it was close to one when we got there but the place quickly filled up again with diners.
The food was OK and plentiful but you felt like a sardine packed in this small dinner. Everyone had the touristy attitude despite the cold and damp weather. Afterwards we visited a shop where they wanted to get Frenchy t-shirts for their grands. We came down the beaches and across some different 'hoods as they gave you the impression of looking for some real estate here in Florida. But their grands are all in the north east and I do not for see them ever moving here; but it's fun to look. They left the house a little before 3 and headed to Sarasota where her brother has rented a house for several weeks and lots of their immediate family is and will be visiting on Longboat Key; another place I've never been. Some day we must make the trip, oh well.
It was a short fun visit and then they come back next week for another overnight stay before heading back to Pa. on Wednesday of next week. We have our social calendar filled as we have lots to do with the Pow Wow here at the rec. as we(BridgePoint) want to be a part of the community. I will help with the parade Sat. morning and then we will have a tent set up Sunday after church to give out info, small gifts and candy for the kiddos and of course to invite them to worship with us. Tomorrow Thursday we will go back to Brandon for another week day evening ball game but this time we leave much earlier as there is no game on Saturday.
We headed out to our Blessed Life class at the Nymarks house and along with 8 other couple we enjoyed finger foods and snacks as we finished up the class and did a great discussion on various topics. It was a great evening as we got to know many who will help launch the new campus in Clearwater around Easter. We love the new campus pastor and his wife who are just awesome folks. We got back in time to watch the Lightning win again big 5-2 and their record except for a few flaws is the best ever in the league. I watched the last period after a hot relaxing shower on this cold damp evening, LATER

Tuesday Morning
Well winter has come back to the area with temps in the 60's and cloudy skies but the day was perfect for working outside I did that for the biggest part of the day and even sat outside reading for a couple hours until it started cooling off in the late afternoon. We still have the a/c on as its a tad bit humid.
I started the day much the usual with 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger while I posted the ramble from Monday's activities then spent some quiet moments with my Creator in thanksgiving for our many blessings and just life itself as well as lifted several up by name. All seem as well as can be expected at this point in time but some are suffering some severe illnesses and comfort is what is needed. I continue to lift up our POTUS Trump and those who love this nation as well as our men and women in the military and in law enforcement. I pray those who are trying to destroy our culture and nation will be handled by our Creator in a fitting way and the corruption within our gov't will be exposed as well. I pray for mercy for those who find it political to kill the innocent in the womb and after birth as means to garner votes.
Well since the rec. is closed all week that means no pickle ball so we did a bike ride in the afternoon and I did get in some garden work as well as mowed the yards. The grass is really growing and oh so green after giving it some much needed fertilizer. Most all of the trees in the 'hood have new leaves and the heavy rain the night before washed all of the pollen away and with it most of the fuzzies. Every tree is showing new light green. I need to start collecting some bagged oak leaves that folks leave out for the garbage men for my garden as my once large oak is gone. I do get a few from the back yard oak but not nearly enough to feed my worms in the garden through out the summer while we are gone.
I pulled another 4 tomato's and more jalapeno peppers as well as another cucumber. I have tons of lettuces really for harvesting as well as more sugar peas. The collards are ready to be harvested as well and I'm running out of who to give them too. Bobby came for lunch and then we made plans to go over to Brandon for another during the week game on Thursday but we will leave earlier this time so as to miss the heavy rush hour traffic.
Nancy's cousin Chris and husband Bill came in during the night from cold snowy Pennsylvania and spent the night before heading down to her brothers place in Sarasota. They will come back next week and spent another night before heading back home. I had gone to bed by the time they got in around midnight, LATER

Monday Morning
Well since I haven't posted anything since Saturday morning I will catch everyone up on the happenings. Saturday itself was a busy one that was mostly fun and games with some fine eatin' thrown in the mix twice during the day and oh my what a beautiful winter day in Florida. The humidity was null and void and a slight breeze kept it comfortable in the 80 degree temps. I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then lifted up several by name to my Creator as well as gave thanks for my many blessings.
We were scheduled to give Dan and Carol a ride to the airport and they head north for about 10 days to visit family but they were heading into a polar vortex of all things with snow and below freezing temps, yeow. It's been years since they have driven in those kinds of conditions and they were a bit apprehensive. We just dropped them off and headed home to get ready for our first trip to the Walsingham Park for a volunteer cook out for the BridgePoint gang. I did some garden watering while Nancy put together a Cole slaw for the event. We had the usual burgers and dogs plus an assortment of salads, slaws and too many other various dishes to mention. The weather was perfect and the coolness of the breeze in the shade made it great for getting out and into the sun to play some "corn hole" We played and ate until nearly 2:30 then headed home to get ready for the Life Group event at the same shelter.
We or the church did three events that day so we got our money's worth which lasted from 9 in the morning until the park closed at 7 that evening. There were over a hundred for the volunteer cook out and probably only 20 at the most for the later event which was bring your own meat to grill and a dish to share. We brought bone in pork chops and parsley taters as well as the left over Cole slaw and a delicious Oreo pudding dessert, yikes was it ever the hit of the event. We also played "corn hole"until it was time to leave at 7. We did do prayer requests and closed in prayers as well. It was a grand time of food, fun and fellowship and we got to know several in the group more closely which is mostly blue or white hairs. I think Nancy maybe the youngest gal and I maybe the oldest or close to it guy; when did all this happen.
Well we couldn't ask for better winter weather as the north and even the mountains is having another winter day with snow and freezing temps. The earth is warming is such a huge fabricated lie to take money away from Americans and give to the world economy which just makes me sick. We Americans need to stand firm and look out for our nation and vote these malcontents who want to change our nation into a socialist society and make us a third world economy with taking our wealth and giving it to those who want to rule us. The last administration nearly completed that ideology with their take over of the justice department, signing us to the Paris and Iran accords which would have destroyed the nation both economically and militarily by giving those who chant death to America daily the ability to have nuclear weapons and eventually wipe us out. I will never know why these political leaders have not been charged with treason.
Well on Sunday it was up early for me as I rode my bike to the college for the load in and set up for BridgePoint Church. We or I started early in the morning and we both were there from 8 until 12:30 when we left after setting in on the first service and then working in the Kidspoint area the second service. I was in a room with 16 kids in the age range of 3 to 5 and what a handful a few of them are. We had a teacher and two of us volunteers which kept us on our toes. I think we will break the class up as that was just too many for one class and with a couple disruptive kids it makes it difficult to control the class. It's a very structured class with a great message and activities but a few of the boys need to be separated. You can tell which of the kids have no discipline at home. I got to know them fast and eventually had to use the time out form of discipline, oh well.
It was Nancy and Sam's birthday as she turned 62 and is now social security available and Sam's last year in the single digits. He turned 9 and is a great young man with awesome manners and attitude. We all met at the Japanese Restaurant in St.Pete where we were entertained by our chef Gus and dined on everything from soup, salad, grilled chicken, steak, shrimp and scallops. It was delicious but Nancy wasn't crazy about the smell on her clothes afterwards as there are flames and smoke from the grill. We came back to Amy's and had birthday ice cream cake with Sam and then met his new pet a lizard he named Link. We all held him and he looks like he came from the desert of the southwest. The kids really like him and they buy live meal worms for him to eat as well as kale which I have plenty of. It was a great two days of fun, eatin', and fellowship, LATER

Saturday Morning
Well Friday turned out to be another beautiful winter day in sunny warm Florida. I'm amazed the north is still getting snow and freezing temps as we are now starting to keep the a/c on full time. I think we ran the heat one morning to take the chill off but its been that kind of winter here. The garden loves this weather with cool nights and warm days and some almost too warm but March is here so we can now expect the humidity and hot days to be here until next October, oh well.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger root while I posted this ramble and then lifted up several by name to my Creator for comfort, healing and a relationship with Him. All seem well and even Eddie is back on the mend as we spoke with Kimberly yesterday. The electricity is back on in W.Va. where sister Pat who is caring for Paw Paw was without it for a couple days, yeow that is hard to imagine without heat and the comforts of home but the reverse happens when storms strike here in Florida with no a/c for days.
I got in two solid hours of pickle ball play at the rec. then headed home to piddle in the gardens harvesting lettuces, another egg plant and sugar peas to take with us to Bobby's later in the day. We were expecting some fresh shrimp from a vendor but for some reason they didn't make it as we were not on the main schedule. This seafood house is now marketing their catch here in Florida and from our friends they say it is delicious, fresh and reasonable and they deliver to your house, anyhow we waited for them to bring shrimp but we had to leave for Brandon. We left a little after 3 which made for a 2 hour drive for 50 miles the traffic was that bad on the toll road which was stop and go for 15 miles or more. I do not know how the folks in that area stand the congested roadways.
Bobby had grilled chicken breasts in place of what was supposed to be grilled shrimp and we brought the rest of the fixin's which were perfect for poor boy sandwiches. We headed over to the ball park and watched Gabe and his team win big with great hitting. I ran the scoreboard and met a real nice dad from the other team who travels around the world installing and maintaining of all things cremation ovens. We sat and talked in between plays as he did the score book and me the score board. Gabe's team won 15-7 with some good hitting and infield plays. It was nearly 8:30 when we finished and headed home. The ride was much more enjoyable home than the ride over.
I soon hit the showers and caught up on the news from the FOX Cable news then hit the sack around 10'ish. Today Saturday with be another busy day as I take the Botbyl's to the airport this morning then we have two functions at Walsingham Park for BridgePoint which is near the house. One is a volunteer party and the other is our Life group get together. Should be some fine eatin' as well, LATER
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and fresh ginger root while I posted this ramble and then lifted up several by name to my Creator for comfort, healing and a relationship with Him. Friday Morning..1st of March
Well time is just slipping away as February is gone already. Thursday was a beautiful day with no humidity and some cooler temps but beautiful weather for being outside. I did get in a good workout at the rec. on the pickle ball courts for nearly 2 hours before heading home to piddle around in the garden.
I started the day much the usual with a 6'ish roll out to my cup of hot green tea laced with turmeric and ginger while I posted this ramble then spent some quiet moments with my Creator in thanksgiving and lifting up several by name. I read in the obituary section of the home town paper where another classmate passed away. We were elementary buddies and he was one of only a couple boys who came home with me during grade school for a night. He was in a nursing home when he passed so he must of had some severe health issues, R.I.P. Jimmy.
I harvested a couple more tomato's that were starting to turn. I would love for them to turn red on the vine but the gnats and bugs love to lay their eggs in them so I pull them early but I did harvest a delicious egg plant for our supper which was the best ever. Nancy fries it in olive oil, egg and cracker meal then we garnish it with fresh herbs and jalapeno pepper on mine; that was our supper along with a glass of vino. Bobby came for lunch as he had a meeting in Pinellas County and then Amy and Eliza came for lunch as well. I harvested lots of fresh lettuces, Swiss chard, kale and beet greens for the salad and another cucumber. The garden is producing and now I'm starting to give away as we just can not use it all. Such a problem I know as the winter is still in abundance else where.
I was weeding in the front yard and notice every limb on the Crepe Myrtle tree has new buds and leaves; so it looks as if it will survive in the hollow of the oak tree stump. I pulled another bucket of weeds from the front yard and I'm hoping the grass will soon smother them out as I'm now adding some fertilizer to the lawn. It's the best it has looked in years but there are some weeds which just spread out and send roots deep into the ground; so far I can not pull them out by the roots and must dig them, oh well.
Well after a hot shower and watching the FOX Cable News I headed in to watch the Lightning get beat by a tough team in Boston. It was back to back nights of play and it showed as the other teams legs were fresh; we still are by far the best team in all of the NHL but it seems it was an off night for the Bolts. This afternoon (Fri.) we travel to Brandon to watch Gabe play his second game of this season. I'm not looking forward to the traffic back ups as we have to leave by 3 to not get caught in the rush hour melee. It's just unbelievable at the volume of cars on the interstate and toll roads, oh well, LATER
