Sunday Morning

Well Saturday was a bit nippy to start the day with temps into the low 50's but by late afternoon we had the windows and doors open and I was in shorts and t-shirt.What a change in just a few hours time and it stayed that way until after dark and then the temps once again dropped. Enough so that we ran the heat this morning to take the chill off of the house. I could stand this kind of weather year round and really yesterday was like a summer day at the cabin in the mountains.

I rolled out to start the day around 6'ish or a little before and did my usual morning routines. Once again the house had chilled down to 69 over night, so I took the chill off for Nancy, although I like that temperature, especially for working outside. I did have on long pants and a flannel shirt which kept me snug and warm along with my hot cup of turmeric and fresh ginger root. I read all the time that both of these herbs are good for joint pain and a whole host of other issues so Ive grown a custom to the taste of the turmeric. Ginger tea is great for all gastro issues of which thankfully I have none. I did my quiet time and daily discipline for personal growth then grabbed an apple while I perused the Internet checking out the hometown paper in Winchester and then to Ray's Weather for what was happening in the mountains. It was below freezing at both places but was heading for a warm up to be in the high 40's and even some 50's for the next couple of days. That should help with getting rid of the huge snow fall from last weekend, especially in northern Virginia where there was 3 feet of snow.

It was going on 9 when I decided to work outside in the yards and garden. I sucked up or mowed up all of the fallen oak leaves in both yards then piled them up to be mulched for easy composting. I run the mower over the piled leaves which breaks them down and then the fishing worms go to work running the mulched leaves through their digestive system which makes for great compost and eventually dirt. That kept me busy until lunch time. Amy and all of the Ross kiddos were here for lunch. They had gone to the park with Nancy and had worked up a sweat and an appetite running and playing. It really warmed up so Nancy had the windows open and the fans on while she fried bacon for BLT's. After lunch I headed back out to feed the veggies and to distribute the mulched leaves around my veggies in the garden then painted a couple outdoor wrought iron rocking chairs my neighbor Carol was getting rid of. A little black paint and I had them looking like new again. She gets lots of hand downs from her clients in these million dollar condo's she cleans on the beach.

I had the gardens and yards looking good as we will have a big family dinner here Sunday(today) as we celebrate Bobby's 35th birthday with the supper he chooses as well as the dessert. I will write about that tomorrow. After the Ross's took off so Eliza could get a nap as she still has a runny nose but isn't complaining anymore about her ear discomfort; but she needed a nap. They all came back around 5:30 for a supper of tacos. I headed into the computer room and decided since I got my last 1099 in the mail I would file my taxes for 2015 with turbotax. I've used it the past 4-5 years and find them very through and reasonable and they do all of my deductions. Once again I over paid but we had lots of medical deductions with all of the dental work and Nancy's heart arrhythmia issues. So its nice to not have to fork out anymore to this government which is spend happy with our money especially the social security trust fund which I paid into since I first went to work at Cather's Farm Market at the age of 15 earning a dollar and hour. I've paid into that fund from the sweat of my brow for 55 years, but this administration gives the money away to those who don't work or ever paid into it and then tells us(payers) we are racists or not inclusive enough and fails to give us our due. What a bunch of corrupt administrators and congress folks.  We have no one to rectify this criminal intent by this government.

Well enough of my disgust for these crooks who only want to fill their pocketbooks with our money and then denigrate the working man. The clinton's are the best example of corruption and criminal activity in the government and administrations. How can someone amass over a 100 million bucks from supposedly serving the public sector. They both make me want to throw up with their lies and shady deals and after Benghazi she should be in prison. I wouldn't doubt much of the billions the state department can't account for is in their bank accounts somewhere off shore.

Well we tuned into Dr. Pol, a show about a veterinarian up north and he really does know what he is doing with animal care. I tuned into the UFC bouts and then hit the showers somewhere around 9'ish and finally some horizontal lab a little after 11'ish. Today is Sunday so take a few minutes to honor our Creator and pray for our nation that we will honor the Judeo-Christian principles that our founding fathers made so obvious in the setting up of our government and our constitution. This administration has done everything possible to destroy those precepts and lead us down the road of destruction both by legal and illegally methods. I hope we survive the next year but with our inept leadership on the world scene I'm not to sure as we have any allies who trust this leadership. We have undermined all who once had our back, LATER

Saturday Morning

Well the rain has moved out and the front did bring some much cooler temps with lows into the high 40's; however the afternoon sunshine warmed things up to the middle 60's. Wow, almost a perfect day with bright sunshine and blue skies. I was able to get in some garden work, picked another mess of green beans and harvested enough lettuces, kale, beet greens and a beautiful 4-5 pound head of cabbage for a fresh garden salad. I even blessed my neighbor Carol with a head of cabbage as well. She always comments on how beautiful and abundant the garden looks from her driveway.

I started the day with my before 6'ish roll out and then did my usual routines of a few quiet moments to honor my Creator and lift up those I know who need some extra considerations especially the loss of family members. I had my Fuji apple for breakfast then headed out on my bike for the Rec. We had three courts in action for pickle ball and I had a great hour and half workout that resulted in a wet shirt. Hopefully a few ounces of this belly roll left with it but after a supper at the Olive Garden later in the evening with those dang bread sticks, I think I added a few, oh well the eatin' was fabulous with Zuppa soup and salad.

Amy, GG and Eliza Faye came for lunch and little Eliza was somewhat under the weather with some ear discomfort. She has a low grade cold with hardly any fever, but some children's Tylenol helped with her discomfort and eventually gave her some relief. Hopefully it won't get any worse over the weekend as Tyler is back up in Reston, Va. for his job for the next couple of days. She acted a lot better by the time they left to pick up Ava and Sam from School. I made a delicious guacamole for lunch as well as a huge garden salad. I passed on the salad as I knew we were eating salad from the Olive Garden later in the day and stuck with leftover shrimp fried rice.

After they all left for the day I chilled and started a new read for the next hour or so. Patrick and Kathryn picked us up around 5 o'clock to head out to eat and then to a movie about Benghazi and what really happened in Libya. Three of the men who survived that slaughter of four Americans gave a true account of what took place. If we would of had some real leadership from the top down those men would probably we alive today and America would once again be revered as a force to never be messed with; but instead our top leaders allowed their death and only with some heroic actions and fighting the terrorist did several survive and actually leave the "hell hole". I was so disgusted with the inactions of our military who were ordered to stand down in making any effort to save these folks because our government was conducting an illegal weapons operation in the country which eventually armed the many terrorists who used these weapons to kill our people.

This administration is corrupt and are criminals in my book and should be held accountable and it wouldn't displease me to see this potus and his sec. of state charged in their deaths. We would never have known the truth of what occurred in that place as all of the higher ups lied about what caused this fiasco and then lied again about it in a cover up. This story is gut wrenching and I learned a ton of things that I didn't know about and once again we did learn of the courage of those few Americans who fought to their deaths to save the lives of so many. We wouldn't even send airplanes in the aftermath to pick up the survivors and the four dead Americans lay on the tarmac after leaving them alone for 13 hours to weather this storm. Finally a Libyan C-130 aircraft ferried the dead out; this was disgusting and totally reprehensible as they immediately started their cover up. I will never look upon this potus and his administration with anything but total disgust.

I'm so mad and ever person who loves this country should see what took place there from the perspective of the men who fought for so long without any help which was just minutes away.  Our military showed such weakness and the world now sees how inept our leadership is and how we as a nation are no longer a force to be reckon with. Just look at how the terrorists are now spreading throughout the world and even in our own back yard. Wake Up America. I'm totally disgusted with this administration and those who support it and the Democrat Party. What happened to US(A) during the tenure of this potus. How have we let these people gain so much influence and disregard for the country?? LATER

Friday Morning 29th of January 2016

Well this first month of the new year is about gone and did it ever just go so quickly. We had rain for most of the day and evening and at times a "gully washer" or "street river" depending or where we are. At least it wasn't a cold rain with temps in the upper 60's but that is supposed to change today as the front pulled in some cooler air from the north as it moved out and away from us. It's that time of the year with the Gasparilla Festival is remembered with the pirates invading Tampa. I use to have to work that event when all of the city was just one big drunken party, yet some of the costumes where quite enchanting and what some of the gals would do for a string of cheap beads would make a sailor blush, oh well.

I started the day with a 6'ish roll out and then to my usual routines of honoring my Creator with a few quiet moments and then my daily discipline. I lost two acquaintances yesterday as one was a classmate and another was an old Mountain Falls feller I hadn't thought of since I was a kid. She was my age and he a couple years older but I knew him and his folks and older sister who are all gone as well. His mom was one of our summer Bible school teachers at the local church and he graduated a couple of years ahead of me. I keep up with the local news from Winchester, Va and noticed their obits in the paper.

I rode out to the Rec in a mist and came back in a light rain. We started a half hour earlier than usual so as to get in a good workout and I had a wet shirt by 9 AM and decided I was through for the day on the pickle ball court. There wasn't anything to do outside as the rain had the garden good and wet so I chilled with a new read and spent the rest of morning inside this book. Amy, GG and Eliza Faye all came for lunch. I finished up the leftover pinto's and wow could I ever dine on those almost every day along with some chopped onions and hot sauce in the mix. I must make a mental note to have these more often. The gals had garden salad with deli meats on top but I had the last corn muffin instead. I'm keeping the spare tire somewhat deflated but I'm still trying to lose another pound or so before summer. The knees are holding up and I think I'm finally getting back into some shape, despite the roll around the middle.

We took off to the veggie stand for tomato's and a few other goodies before stopping at Aldi's where their avocados were 39 cents apiece, wow they were perfect as well so we loaded up on several and will make a guacamole on Sunday when we entertain Bobby, Katie and the kiddos for his 35 birthday along with the Ross Family and GG. Bobby wants King Ranch Chicken for his BD meal and the guacamole will go along perfect. My cilantro is the best ever this year and that makes for a good guac. Well we got soaked a couple times before finally getting back to the house and learned our small group was not meeting later in the evening due to headaches and busyness. That was fine with me as we weren't happy about going out in the rain again. We chilled and read until it was time to start supper which was some shrimp fried rice, yeow was that ever delicious with a little soy sauce. That was one of my fav's when flying into the orient especially in Japan as well as I loved the sweet and sour pork dishes in the Philippines. We have never made the latter but are learning how to do the fried rice dishes.

After the cleanup we settled into the Fox News Channel and eventually some of the early debate with the lesser known candidates. I like this Virginia former governor Gilmore as he is a straight shooter and the only veteran in the mix. I definitely will support the GOP nominee whom ever, but I hope its not someone from the established political folks. I'm fed up with politics per say and want someone who cares about the country and the downward spiral we are in instead of their own personal legacy and fortunes. We have let the "fox into the hen house" with this last potus and he has destroyed our unity and culture while giving him a pass because of political correctness. I certainly hope we elect a rational, uncorrupted and competent person to see us through this valley of shame on America. It's a shame we run on a platform to not protect the innocent and sell their parts for profit as well as being a proponent of gay marriage to where we have to lawfully accept it despite knowing it's morally wrong. We no longer honor our Creator or the precepts set forth in what made us a great nation with a government that was for all the folks and not just the special interests. We have allowed our moral compass to head south when determining what is right and wrong based on those precepts and now the truth is being shattered and destroyed for personal gain over what is the good for the country. We have corrupted and criminal folks vying for the leadership of the country, LATER

Thursday Morning

Well Wednesday was a foggy warm morning to start the day and we never saw the sun during the day which is a rare occurrence and by late evening the rain started once again and is falling ever so lightly as I make this post adding to the already soggy conditions. At least it's warm outside but the dull overcast and wet conditions make you think it cold. After my workout at the Rec I never ventured out except to get the mail. It was one of those days for staying curled up with a good book.

The day started in much the usual fashion with a 6'ish roll out to my routines of a few quiet moments, my daily discipline and then the posting of this ramble before eating a Fuji apple for my breakfast. I even have Nancy started on eating this for her morning breakfast in addition to a banana and some blueberries. I'm thinking she has some gluten intolerance and I'm suggesting to stay away from oatmeal and cereal for a day or so to check out her digestive functions. Since I've been on this regiment of an apple to start the day I've noticed some changes in mine as well. I just wish I could lose more of this spare tire of fat around my middle, but I guess that comes with age.

I headed out on my bike for the ride to the Rec and some hour and half of pickle ball with several other players. We had some new players today from the frozen north and they were good players. To bad they are just here for a couple of weeks. We haven't got back many of the old bunch of A players as they don't like this large influx of mostly B players that have inundated our Rec. Oh well! I had a wet shirt when I left around 9:30.

No one was coming for lunch so Nancy and I cleaned up some leftover spaghetti sauce and pinto beans, yeow both were as tasty as when initially prepared. We decided to have deer burgers for supper so since it was raining lightly Nancy pan fried them and my oh my were they ever delicious. I think from now on we will prepare deer in that fashion as the meat which has little or no fat, drys out so quickly on the grill but pan fried in a little olive oil they were very good. We opened a can of peas as well as had a fresh garden salad. Deer meat is so delicious and never leaves you feeling full or bloated. We just love the flavor and clean taste of the meat that has no hormones or man induced substances into the food they eat. It is truly the most organic food you can eat along with home grown veggies.

We tuned into the Fox News Channel after the cleanup and then I headed to the bedroom as the Lightning Hockey team won a close game over the Maple Leafs 1-0 in Tampa. I flipped to the Idol Show during commercials. It wasn't long until I hit the shower and then some horizontal lab around 10'ish. I could hear the rain falling on the roof at times during the night and its even falling now. This rain is supposed to usher in cooler temps with this front for the next couple of days but hopefully no freezing weather like last weekend, LATER

Wednesday Morning

Well Tuesday was a bit nippy to start the day but by late afternoon it had reached the 80 degree mark. Unbelievable as Nancy had the heat on to start the day and nearly changed over to the a/c by suppertime. What a drastic change in the temp's.  We made a Wal-Mart run with GG after lunch and then a stop at Aldi's as well to stock up.

I started the day with my usual 6'ish roll out and then my morning routines of a few quiet moments, my daily discipline and then the posting of this ramble before heading out to the REC a half hour early. On Tuesday's and Thursday's some of us pickle ball players want to get a little extra court time before the general players arrive in mass. We have the gym from 7-12 whereas on MWF we have the gym from 8-10. I'm still trying to stay only about an hour and half, 5 days a week which is giving me plenty of court time. The knees are holding up but where my mind say's to stay longer the body say's that period of play is enough.

I stopped of at the library on the way home and wow what a difference in temperature from 7:30 when I got to the REC. It was in the 70's by 9:30 and even went much higher after lunch. I headed out to cut lettuces, kale, beet greens and picked my first mess of sugar peas for a huge salad. I cleaned this bunch and then used the salad spinner to get the extra water off and then broke it up for a nice salad. I'm hoping with this warm weather the tomato will start to ripen in mass as well. I bought a sack of Epson salt for them and the peppers and gave them a good dose when we got back from shopping. Amy, GG and Eliza Faye came for lunch and GG brought Zuppa Toscanda from last nights supper and wow was it ever delicious. Definitely one of my favorite soups. I put a pot of dried pinto beans on to slow cook for our supper and they too were fabulous with some cut up sweet onion and a dash of hot sauce. We dined on that and a fresh salad for supper with some corn muffins slathered in real butter and honey, yikes I could eat that meal once a week or even more often. It's been months since we've had dried pintos as I even brought these beans back from the mountains when we came in Nov.

Well after the clean up from supper we settled into the FOX News channel and watched what is happening in the world. The O'Reilly Factor is still one of our daily favorites as well is Greta and On The Record.  I headed to the shower shortly afterwards while Nancy watches her Fixer Upper Show's and HGTV. She gets all of these ideals and constantly lays them out to me after watching shows. Luckily I'm asleep by the time she comes to bed. Well that was about it for the day and the change in weather occurred during the night with hard rains once again awaking me at 2'ish in the morning. The temps are supposed to cool off once again but not nearly as cold as this past weekend. This system is forecasted to bring more snow to the north which is still digging out from the blizzard, oh well, LATER

Tuesday Morning

Well it's about 10 degrees warmer this AM than yesterday and that is a sure welcome after the neighbor hood was coated in the first frost for this winter. Every house that didn't have a tree in the yard was covered with white. Luckily my garden and roof was frost free so the plants lived through this killing coat of ice. It was only in the middle 30's and I always wondered how ice could form above 32 degrees. It was a cold ride out to the REC on my bike but by the time I left around 9:30'ish the air had warmed up to the 60's with bright sunshine.

The morning start with much the usual 6'ish rollout to start the day. I knew it was cold out as the heat kicked on several times during the night but was completely surprise when looking out the window at the frost everywhere. I did my routines of a few quiet moments to honor my Creator and lift up several in thoughts and prayers for healing and comfort and then my daily discipline before posting this ramble and heading out to the REC for close to two hours of pickle ball play. We once again had a full house but was able to get in several games and even worked up a sweat. I stopped off at the library for some new reads they were holding for me on the way home.

I worked in the gardens without an extra shirt for the next hour or so until lunch time as the air really warmed from the 30's to the 60's in just a couple hours. It was almost a perfect day and made for being outside in the warm sunshine. I picked another gallon or so of green beans and noticed the plants are still blooming with several small beans to mature. These Kentucky Wonders are the best green beans ever with such texture and taste. My grandma(Nannie) always planted them in her garden as well. I loosened up the soil around the new lettuce seedlings and gave them a shot of "garden magic" which is a mixture of major and minor trace elements usually leeched from the soil as well as a little miracle grow. I need to harvest green peppers, sugar peas and a couple different lettuces as well as kale and beet greens for a fresh garden salad for today.

Amy, GG and Eliza Faye came for lunch and we ate the leftover spaghetti(noonies) as Eliza calls them. She is so cute and is quick with her retorts to questions. She loves her grandma as Nancy caters to her every whim and so do I. She likes to climb up on my lap and for me to show her cartoons on the laptop or sit in the toy room while she plays with the doll house. After they headed out to take GG by the library before dropping her off I settled into the next couple hours of reading while Nancy walked the 'hood. The air was so dry and warm I had to hand water again in the late afternoon. We can tell winter is on the way out as the days grown longer with the extra minutes of sunshine.

I grilled a couple Salmon fillets loaded with fresh dill from the garden and we had a fresh salad and fresh Brussel sprouts. We love them with dijon mustard. I tried to grow them a few years back but they take up so mush space and are slow growing so we buy them at the veggie stand. After the clean up I settled into the FOX News channel and see where the GOP is dumping Trump. I'm beginning to think he is a threat to the crony politicians especially those who want to keep on the band wagon of corruption within the government. Even Glen Beck is dumping on Trump and he was a maverick when he first started here in Tampa on the radio and I would have thought he would have supported someone who was not beholding to any established politician. Now I'm beginning to think and I hope that Trump will shake the hold system from top to bottom. I know one thing we need to bring and honor GOD back into our country and our culture before it completely disintegrates before our very eyes. We who are Believers had better wake up and vote these corrupt folks out of office. Well that was about it for the day, LATER

Monday Morning

Well it was another cold day here in usually warm sunny Florida. The sun did shine but it was in the high 30's to start the day and never got out of the high 40's or low 50's with the wind blowing a steady breeze. I noticed some of the veggie had some color change from the wind and cold but there was no frost.

We slept great within the flannel sheets and it was hard to roll out to get ready for church; but we managed. We did our morning routines then got ready to meet up with Dan and Carol as we rode together to Bridge Point Church in St. Petersburg. We really like this pastor much more so than any we have visited except for the pastor in Riverview, but that venue is just too far away to become involved with on a weekly basis. I think we will try Bridge Point a couple more times before deciding to call it our home church while in Florida. They have 4 services a day on Sunday and the 10 AM was packed that we attended. We understand they are planning to start another campus downtown St.Pete and possibly one in the Seminole area as well. It would be exciting to be in on the ground floor of such a mission and church plant as we were with Element Church in Tampa.

Well after the service we were home before noon which helps our decision as well on spending so much time traveling to worship on Sunday's. With Element it was an hour or more especially when coming back through Tampa which was usually a slow down along I-4 and all the construction. I headed out to hand water the gardens as the wind had dried the ground out the past day or so despite the heavy rains. Everything looked as if it will survive and I did notice the tomato and bean plants had a little wind and chill burn to the outer leaves. The extreme wind also blew over some of the plants and only one leafed out bean plant was broken off.

We finished up some leftovers and then Nancy started on her sauce for a spaghetti dinner with our small group that was coming around 4:30. Kathryn made bruschetta with the chopped tomato's, herbs, mozzarella cheese and stuffed jalapeños and we had a glass of vino while watching the Broncos beat the Patriots in a very close game. We were thrilled with the final score. The second game had us at times rooting for the underdogs as we wanted Peyton Manning to go out with a big win because he had a chance against the Cardinals; but not the Panthers. The Panthers destroyed the Cards and we must confess they will be a power house for some time to come. We will play them twice a season as they are in our division(Bucs), oh well if Cam wasn't such a show off I could root for him but I know all of my mountain buddies root for their home team as do we. I was impressed with the team members giving out balls to the young kids in the stands on their touchdowns. That is a great gesture and helps with me disliking him less.

Nancy had a huge pot of spaghetti and sauce and Carol brought a huge salad as well. I decided after consuming a half dozen or so jalapeños poppers and the bruschetta to forego any spaghetti and just eat salad. I was very comfortable with that arrangement and not overly stuffed as we didn't eat until the small intermission between the games. Well they all left somewhere after the score was out of hand with the Panthers beating the Cardinals with an ugly stick. It was that lopsided from the get go. Oh well I feel the Card's need to get a Tim Tebow at QB to give them some youth in that position and a chance to be competitive next year. I do like their coach Bruce Ahrens as he is a players coach but is lacking a few key position players.

It wasn't long after the game I tuned into the final episode of the Alaskan show for this season and saw where one of the key pioneers re-injuried an existing hernia and the doctor told him it was severe. Those folks who live there year round have a tough life in the 6-8 months of cold weather but very exciting and the scenery is superb. I would love to experience that life in those 4 months of the growing season and all of the various jobs they do to make life easier during the long cold winters.

Well it was a great day of worship, fellowship with great friends and very tasty food and football. I'm sorry to say the football season is nearly over with just the big game in two weeks and then no more until next August when the pre-season starts. We(Bucs) have a new coach so maybe we will see some improvement for the home town team but I feel sure we will have to contend with the Panthers and Cam as they seem to have all the positions covered with good players. I would like to see Peyton go out with the big ring as he has been a testament to the good guys in the sport as well as has set some records with his play, Oh Well, LATER

Sunday Morning

Well it was a windy day with cold temps that didn't get out of the low 50's. A couple of times we thought the roof fell in with dead limbs from the big oaks surrounding the house. We watched all of the snow scenes on the Internet and made several phone calls to those in the midst of the big snow. The webcam suggested the height of the snow at the cabin was somewhere around a foot and half and the total for my home town of Winchester, Va was almost three feet. Yeow I can remember in '62 when we had 40 plus inches two weeks in a row and it took forever to get out or get in our road because of the drifts.

The day started here with the usual 6'ish roll out with heat running for most of the night. It ran most of the day as well as the wind was almost hurricane strength at times and it gusted like that until late evening when finally it started to lay down. We were out for a baby shower at a house on Lake Seminole and the full moon was awesome as it reflected off the lake water. They had an outside propane heater as well as a fire pit burning and the heat felt good . We were all bundled up with gloves, scarves, coats and sweaters which is not common for this area even in winter. The wind did keep any frost away from the gardens.

We didn't do anything outside at all during the day so we just read and lounged around watching for all the snow news up north. I finished the Lee Child book MAKE ME and while it was a good read it wasn't my favorite. We started the day off around 10'ish with a mountain breakfast after our morning routines, quiet times and daily discipline. We had buckwheat cakes with fresh blueberries in the batter along with some wild or feral hog sausage  and cackle berries. I of course slathered my sausage with fresh ground horseradish and lots of molasses on my cakes. We did that to commemorate our mountain time at the cabin and our friends there. That held me until we had tacos prepared by our son Bobby at the baby shower on Lake Seminole around 6:30. We had black beans and rice, guacamole, pico deguyo, salsa and chips and cup cakes for dessert. I tasted everything but the dessert and the fixins' were delicious. The taco meat was pulled pork from the two hogs Danielle and Neal killed a month or so ago in northern Florida and had processed for the freezer.

The baby shower was for our friends and neighbors across the street, Melinda and John Perry who are the parents of Phoenix. They are expecting a girl Scarlet in the next couple of weeks. Melinda and Amy grew up together along with Danielle so we had many current neighbors as well as old neighbor, grandparents and friends. John is a fireman so lots of his friends were there as well as another retired LEO who was with the sheriffs dept. We stayed until nearly 9 o'clock then headed home with Amy. It was getting down right nippy outside as the temps were falling once again. We all had cold noses despite being bundled up.

Well after checking the news on the blizzard we hit the hot showers and did that ever feel great. It wasn't long afterwards it was past my bedtime at 11'ish so it was lights out for me. We did put the flannel sheets on the bed for the first time this winter and did that ever make a difference. Don't forget if you can get out from this snow to honor GOD by worshiping with others on this Sunday at a place of worship, LATER

Saturday morning 23rd of January 2016

Wow, just looking at the date makes me wonder how fast time seems to be slipping away. Before we know it we will be making plans in  4 months to head back to the cabin; of course a lot will have to happen especially with this huge snow storm that has enveloped the mountains and most of the eastern seaboard. We were talking about how much fun it would be to be in the middle of this snow but only for a couple days until we got cabin fever or tried to get off the mountain. Our "mountain mom" Helen said the roads were treacherous with lots of wrecks as she monitors the local police scanner.

Well Friday started out with windy conditions and not real cold but cool enough for a light jacket especially at 7:30 in the morning as I rode my bike to the REC for close to two hours of pickle ball. I rolled out at my usual before 6'ish time and then my morning routines of a few quiet moments to humble myself before my Creator and remember those who need some special prayers as well. I learned I lost another classmate from high school and who sat at our reunion table a couple years ago. Wow, have we ever lost a bunch of the class of '64 which was a huge class for a county school in northern Virginia.

We had three courts in action at the REC and I had a great work out but I'm looking forward to resting the knees over the weekend. They are holding up rather well while playing everyday this week except for the MLK Day when everything was closed. I stopped off at the library for the new Lee Child book titled MAKE ME and have just about read a third of it in one sitting. Child has created this character Jack Reacher who for me is very interesting and I can relate to him with his inquisitiveness. I finished the book The TERROR which was a great read as well but one that had lots of turning points and was intrigued with the ending especially as most of it was based on historical facts despite being a novel. A good manly read.

We had a severe weather storm go through the area for about 15 minutes or so with swirling winds, rain, lightning and thunder and a street flooder as well. It did that couple times after getting back from the morning workout. I even hand watered the gardens as the sun was shining when suddenly this front moved in. It's supposed to drop out temperatures down into the 50's for the high today(Sat.). This is part of the frontal system which is bringing blizzard conditions into the eastern part of the nation with record snow falls. I spoke with Paw Paw in Winchester and they were starting to get the snow laying on the ground as well as Dee and Mike in Woodstock, Va. It's a great birthday present for Mike and one he won't forget for awhile. The cold has been extreme there as well with single digits the past couple of mornings.

We have had rather warm temps here the past couple of days except for the mornings of the first of the week but no cold damage so far. We are finally getting some rain but too much at one time. The oak tree leaves are everywhere and many are blowing away with the high winds. Nancy was at her Friday morning Bible study so we had no one for lunch today but did go to GG's for a supper of chicken enchiladas and the Mexican rice that Nancy prepared as well as a fresh salad. Yeow was that ever some good eatin'. We as well as the Ross Family gathered. Tyler made it back from D.C. before they shut the airports down due to the weather and he said it was brutally cold there for most of the week there. Luckily he was released before Friday or he would be stuck in a hotel in D.C. for who knows how long.

After the cleanup we hung around just before 8 and then headed home to catch up on the news and the weather conditions. I tuned into my favorite reality show Gold Russ and watched that until it was shower time and then some horizontal lab. The wind howled for most of the night as this weather front continues to arrive and we weren't sure if it was the falling leaves or rain we could hear on the roof, LATER

Friday Morning

Well the cold temps left for a day but another front is supposed to move through today and bring us more cold weather over the weekend. It warmed up to the high 60's today which felt great and was good for working in the gardens after a chilly start on the early morning bike ride to the REC as I went a half hour earlier than usual.

The day started with a before 6 roll out as Nancy was in high gear on her snoring that started around 4. Yikes some nights she is rather subdued but others like last night was one with high octaves. We weren't sure if we were getting overnight guests so I stayed out of the extra bedroom as she just changed sheets, oh well!! Sometimes I slip into that room when she becomes so loud, but I usually just rest and don't get much sleep in the different bed. I did my morning routines of a few quiet moments, daily discipline and then posted this ramble before grabbing an apple for my breakfast and riding out for an hour and half workout on the pickle ball court. Several of us who wanted to get in some quality play before the masses arrive on Tuesday and Thursday did get in a good workout. When I left around 9'ish there were lots of players waiting to get on the court even with three courts in action.

The temps had warmed up 10-15 degrees since I first arrived at 7:30 and the sun was shining brightly. I decided after getting back to the house to put my black seeded Simpson lettuce seedlings in the ground. I had probably 50 or so that had reached the 3-4 inches in height and looked quite healthy. This is the type of lettuce that most folks in the mountains sow in beds real close together and I did that last summer as well. But when you sow it separately it makes for some great leaves for eating and its hearty as well. Romaine is the most nutritious and Iceberg (head lettuce) is the least so Bibb and Simpson is some where in the middle. My Romaine did OK but never really formed the football shaped heads due to the high heat in Nov. and Dec.

Well I picked my first turning pink tomato after finding several that some critter had bit into and caused it to rot. The plants are loaded with little ones as well. I never planted the large slicing tomato's as we usually like the smaller teardrop size ones for salads, plus they seem more hearty than the beef stakes for reason. Everything in the garden is looking good and healthy and this cold snap seemed to add vigor to the collards and kale. I picked a nice mess of collards for our dear friend Sarah Ann Payne who came by and picked them after lunch.

Amy, GG and Eliza Faye came for a lunch of pizza and salad. Eliza is such a sweetie and is just getting cuter by the day. She loves for me to sit in the toy room while she plays with the doll houses and she mimics the babies talking and interacting. She doesn't like to be alone. Amy and other kiddos all came for a supper of chicken and green beans which is prepared in a cream sauce much like beef and beans over a bed of Jasmine rice. Yeow, is this ever delicious and Eliza loved it as well. Ava and Sam eat the green beans raw with the rice and chicken. Nancy gave them each a bowl of ice cream after eating which sent them into a high gear of activity. It's amazing what a little sugar does to their bodies.

After they left we settled into the FOX News channel to learn the GOP establishment is rebelling against the front runner Trump and calling for his defeat for the party. I'm so fed up with the establishment politicians in both parties that I may register as an Independent if they cause Hillary or whomever to give us another 4 years of their inept leadership. This is what's wrong in our political system; those who run for office must be in cahoots with certain special interest groups or folks to gain their support despite what the masses of everyday folks want. I hope this back fires on these so called "established conservatives" and the populist vote send them to their back rooms where deals are cut for support. There is no doubt Trump is a maverick and beholding to none but he is saying the right things and I'm sure he will surround himself with competent people. Look at this present incompetent potus who had no experience and who leaned on folks who hated the country and they have done a wonderful job in destroying the nation from within and giving up our sovereignty and influence abroad. We are in a mess folks and the American Dream is just about to become an illusion that once was a goal for the common working class man and woman. The elitist are destroying the middle class, LATER

Thursday Morning

Well Wednesday morning was the coldest of the winter thus far with temps into high 30's but the wind made it feel even colder. There was plenty of frost just north of us with freezing temps but we were spared once again although my eyes watered on the ride out to the REC this morning on my bike. I even donned an extra sweater for the ride and the heat ran off and on for most of the night and day. By late evening we saw the temperature rise to the low 60's and this morning it's back to the 50's to start the day.

I was up at my usual 6' ish to start the day and had my usual cup of hot green tea laced with some ginger and turmeric. After my morning routines of a few quiet moments to honor my Creator and now my daily discipline I got ready to ride out to the REC for a workout on the pickle ball court. I did get in some exercise despite having a large crowd in attendance as this sport has really taken off. We do have a lot of northern visitors this time of the year to add to the mix as well and some are decent players.

Amy and Eliza came early today for lunch as the girls had to do some shopping for baby shower gifts so Eliza and I watched a movie she choose to see. She eventually fell asleep and got in a half hour nap before the girls got back. I think her trip to the doctor for her 2 year old shot helped with her being sleepy but she never fussed at all. We cleaned up the last of the soup and leftovers from last nights dinner with Eliza's "noonies".  She can put away some pasta. After they left for the day to pick up Ava and Sam at school I went into deep reading for the next couple of hours while Nancy did her hike through the hood and visited with neighbor Carol.

I peeled some fresh veggie stand turnips and sliced them for a casserole which is one of our favorites with bread crumbs on top in a white sauce and then we finished the leftover baked beans and some cole slaw as well for our supper. The past couple of days have been veggie's mostly for supper. After the clean up we settled into the Fox News Cable channel and then into the Idol show. We did speak with some mountain neighbor's and they were already getting lots of snow sticking on the ground and were bracing for the big snow storm later this week which could put them at over a foot of the frozen white stuff. We sure hope Tyler gets out of D.C. before his flights get grounded from this winter storm.

Well that was about it for the day. The cold didn't seem to hurt the garden and now I have sugar peas ready to harvest to add to our salads along with some Bibb lettuce. The tomato's have lots of green ones but are slow to ripen. The sweet onions are growing as are the carrots and cabbages. I'm looking forward to a pot roast with home grown carrots. Surprisingly the herbs are the best ever this year with the exception of the sweet basil which is not a fan of cold temps, but it's still hanging on. The dill is almost out of control as is the cilantro, rosemary and parsley.

I just want to mention that we folks who love our freedoms and liberties and our families and who honor our Creator had better wake up and see what the secular progressives are doing to our culture. You would think with Europe's failed results in promoting socialism for the nation that we(USA) would learn from their dismal results. But no we have so many inept politicians that have no wherewithal of what is before their very eyes, especially the example in Greece and their slide into bankruptcy and financial ruin. We are seeing some of that now with our own stock market decline where we are growing increasingly in debt while spending incessantly with horrific government waste and no accountability. I wouldn't doubt if an audit doesn't show that many of our politicians have greased their bank accounts with this wasteful spending. I do think Bernie has a point about the corrupt political class in D.C. but that is about all that I agree with him, LATER

Wednesday Morning 20th of January

Well it was another cold morning here in usually warm sunny Florida with temps down into the middle 40's. I know that is a summer day for our friends at the cabin as they had below freezing temps with snow on the ground and more expected this coming week. It stayed cool for most of the day as the north wind kept it long pants and a jacket for the dress of the day. I worked out at the Rec then gave the recently sanded dinner table two more coats of protectorate all before lunchtime.

The morning started with my usual 6 'ish roll out and then a cup of hot green tea while I did my quiet time and daily discipline. After the posting of this ramble I grabbed an apple and headed to the Rec for an hour and half of pickle ball. I drove this morning as I wanted to go over to Amy's and work on the table after the workout plus it was down right nippy outside.

It was nearly lunch time when I got back after giving the table a second and third coat of the clear gloss urethane. We had leftover Italian bean soup for lunch which fit the bill for this cool day. Just Amy and Eliza Faye came for lunch as GG was off with some of her singing group. After lunch I settled into working outside in the garden weeding, hoeing and picking green beans again. They are producing so well I will start suppling the neighbors with some of them. The recently sowed sugar peas are up as well and the older peas are ready for picking with some mature pods. They have the prettiest white blossoms. The wind over the weekend was rather hard on the tall tomato plants as they were blown sideways despite being staked and in wire cages, but they will survive if we don't get a frost this week.

Well after Amy and Eliza left I vacuumed the house while Nancy got in her walk through the hood and then I settled in with a new read titled TERROR by Dan Simmons. This story is an historical novel about the Franklin Expedition in the 1800's that sought the Northwest Passage by sailing and steaming into the Arctic region. The true story was one of death for the leader and most of the crew but enough was left behind to learn of the adventure these two ships and their crews endured and one ship was named Terror and the other Erebus. Erebus was the flagship of the two and was commanded by Franklin. It's been years since I read the original book or story about this failed mission and the horrible conditions the men suffered while being frozen in a ship for a couple years at a time. This is a real man vs the elements kind of book and one that intrigues me.

Well Nancy fixed one of Amy's favorite suppers with fresh asparagus, artichoke hearts and fresh mushrooms sautéed in garlic butter and white wine over linguine with a fresh salad on the side, even the kiddos ate of this as well. Eliza calls pasta "noonies" and she had two helpings as well. After the cleanup and ice cream for the kiddos which somehow sent them into high gear with the sugar intake they left for home as it was a school night. Whew where do they get all that energy???

I settled into the Fox News and we learned now why Hillary tried to wipe her server clean as it was loaded with the highest of sensitive classified materials. I think she should be indicted and even be charged with treason along with this potus as he has circumvented his position to thwart the constitution to achieve his goals of destroying this country with his "fundalmental change". Never have I seen the media make excuses and cover for this type of illicit criminal behavior and it's obvious they are complicit with this administrations activities. I'm drawn further to support Trump as the establish politicians have allowed this to happen and we need a radical shake up in the government by non political people and Trump fits the bill so far. He is beholding to none and today he got an endorsement by Sarah Palin who I think is a true patriot despite the media doing their best to marginalize her. We have become so complacent with inept politicians who care only about their welfare and not what they were elected to do in the first place. Keep us safe from those who want to destroy us but instead we have allowed the fox(s) to be in the hen house. It's down right shameful and criminal.

Well I watched the Lightning leading by two goals before I cut the lights around 10'ish after reading for an hour or so in bed. The extra blanket felt good and I talked Nancy into the flannel sheets for the next couple of nights as well. The north is supposed to get a major snow fall towards the end of the week and we hope Tyler gets out of D.C. before that happens, LATER

Tuesday Morning

Well Monday was a chilly day which finally reached the low 60's by late afternoon but it was a cold day for the most part with the north wind blowing. It was in the 40's to start the day and the same this morning. There was the possibility of some frost and even a freeze warning for the counties to the north of us but the warm water that surrounds our county should keep us freeze free.

I started the day with my usual 6'ish roll out and then my morning routines of a few quiet moments  and now my daily discipline for personal growth that lasts for 90 days. I'm finding out a little more about myself and asking the questions about the why's and what for's. After the posting of this ramble from the day before activities I grabbed an apple for my breakfast and then got ready to head over to Amy's house. I wanted to redo their table top as it's been close 30 years or more since I originally bought that furniture, stained it and then polyurethaned it. The wood has held up but the nicks, dents and the marks in the soft pine wood has made it unsightly as well as rough.

I loaded up my hand sander, stains and clear coat and Amy was able to help me maneuver the table into their garage where I spent the next couple hours sanding the table top. I got rid of the dents and marks and made it smooth again and gave it a coat of stain which gave the top a unique look with the various shades of stain. To make it look all the same I will need to use a belt sander and take it down to the bare wood but that will be another day. I want to go back today and give it another clear coat of protectorate which is much like urethane but without the smell.

We had all of the Ross kiddo's for lunch as Ava and Sam were off from school as well as  GG. We lunched on smoked turkey leftovers and then they all came back for supper later in the day. Nancy and I made a Sam's Club trip to stock up after they all left. That place was busy and I filled up with gas at $1.69 a gallon. It's been many a moon since we last saw that price. Nancy put on a pot of Italian bean soup which is one of my favorites and before that she fried eggplant for the appetizer. Since Tyler isn't here we can have the goodies which he doesn't like as he is in D.C. for his job for this week. The kiddos even liked the eggplant which is almost as delicious as fried green tomato's. The soup was awesome on this cool evening and we had some fresh kale out of the garden in it.

Well they all left around 7'ish and we put the house back in order and settled into the Fox News channel. It was great to hear those Americans being held in Iran were finally released in a swap which saw Iran with the better deal. They have no fear or respect for this administration and perceives as we all do, this potus is weak with no leadership qualities. We have allowed this terror supported regime to dictate what they will do with respect to honoring our "red lines" which this inept potus sets forth. It's no wonder the American people are so dissatisfied and have allowed Trump to become so popular with mainstream voters. He is such a buffoon but maybe his candidacy will finally wake up the populace. I hope someone steps in to beat the Clinton's as she is the main reason we are in fix we are in on the world scene. Neither she or this potus are qualified to look out for the country and the working man, LATER

Monday Morning

Well Sunday was a busy day that started with picking up our grand kiddos from Amy and Tyler's and transporting them to Element Church where we visited with our old church family. Afterwards we ate lunch out at a sub shop named Jimmy Johns and then headed over to east Tampa area for a walk through with a house Bobby and Katie plan to purchase. Afterwards we met up with Katie's folks and family for a evening of fellowship, football and food.

The day started with my usual 6'ish rollout to start the day. After my quiet time, daily discipline and the posting of this ramble we got ready for church as we had the hour long drive facing us once again for the 10 o'clock service at Element. Annsley and Gage were at the Ross House so I headed over to pick them up a little before 9 as the Ross's leave at 9 for their church. The kiddos were sad to leave each other as they had a wonderful time together for the overnighter. They both fell asleep as soon as we started the trip to Tampa.

We heard Skip Ross deliver a great message and Bobby led the worship music once again. We were made to feel very welcome and if the distance wasn't so great we would probably continue with the church; but it's difficult to be involved in the ministries from such a great distance. Afterwards we had a 1 PM appointment with the realtor for the house in Katie's neighborhood as they wanted to show us their decision. It's a beautiful house on a very nice landscaped 1/2 acre lot with a screened in pool and it's a tri-level which I guess was a plus back in the 60's when the house was built. It has lots of rooms and not open at all as we've become accustom too. The outside to me is the selling feature with a unique back yard and its a corner lot with a huge garage and even an extra room there with a private entrance. The neighborhood is very quiet with lots of large homes on huge lots and many of her family members live within walking distance of this house. I guess the draw back for me would be the many small stairs between the many rooms as well as the upstairs bedrooms. It's a very stately home with huge oak trees.

We headed over to visit with Bruce and Lynn, Katie's folks who are very down to earth folks. Bruce's dad came along with their other daughter and son's families and we visited and watched the playoff game and then we feasted on smoked ribs, green beans, slaw and dips. The kiddos had a grand time riding bikes in this quiet neighborhood and playing with each other. The Korte's are family oriented folks and down to earth and they love Annsley and Gabe. We feel very good about Bobby's choice of Katie as she will be a great helpmate and the kiddos seem to love her as well. We hung out to nearly dark before making the nearly hour drive back to Seminole. What an awesome time we had with our new family to be. Their family roots are from Tennessee and Kentucky. It looks like the south is a common thread in our families heritages as our roots are on the east side of the Appalachian Mountain but southern as well. We are thrilled with getting to know them even better, LATER

The Panthers won over Seattle and the Broncos beat the Steelers in a close game. It looks like the Carolina Team could go all the way to the big game. The Lightning won also against a good Florida team from Miami in hockey.

Sunday Morning

Well Saturday felt like a spring day outside and at times in the sunshine it was down right hot. We took off around 8:30 for Twill Auto where we helped with the oil change for single moms, military moms and widows all of which is Free. This is a service we do for our house church group which is usually the Botbyl's, the Anderson and us. I think we did service 8 vehicles and gave their drivers donuts, juice, coffee and a free 10 dollar gas card as well. We were finished up just before lunchtime.

The morning started out with my usual 6'ish roll out to start the day and then my routines of a few quiet minutes to spend with my Creator, my daily discipline work book and then an apple for breakfast before we got ready to head out. We were eating big for supper so we settled on a lite lunch of a fresh garden salad when we got home from the oil change and a quick stop next door at Walmart for a few items. It was really warm outside and we kept the house closed up as it was cool from the overnight temps. I headed out to hand water the gardens and harvest a head of cabbage and a green pepper for the cole slaw Nancy was fixing along with the chocolate birthday cake for Eliza Faye's birthday supper later in the evening.

Bobby and Katie were bringing Annsley and Gabe over to Amy and Tyler's so they could stay the night with Ava and Sam, so we headed over to visit with them before they had to leave around 4'ish as Bobby was performing a wedding in Ybor City which is in down town Tampa. They missed out on an excellent supper as Tyler had a whole turkey in the smoker since noonish with lots of hickory wood. The meat was awesome and so pretty to look at but flavor was delicious. Amy had baked beans, mac and cheese as well with the cole slaw it made for some fine eatin'. I even had a piece of the chocolate cake with white icing which is very good and well worth ingesting the extra calories once in awhile plus it was Eliza's birthday cake. She was so funny as she loves to sing happy birthday. We had a grand time and the kiddos all play so well together and each set are occasionally interrupted as Eliza wants to be a part of each set. They played hide and seek and she runs with them as they chase around looking for each other. She is so grown up for just turning two.

We headed out some time after 8'ish and took GG home. We did manage to watch part of the Patriots knocking off the Chiefs and then I thought the Cardinals knocked off the Packers when I shut the lights out way past my bedtime. I will have to read about that after posting this ramble for the final score. We had a storm go through the area sometime overnight knocking off the power momentarily as the clocks were flashing this AM. IT's supposed to turn cold in the next day or so and even bring some freezing temps close to the area. That could mean some covering up of plants at night this week.

Well today we are taking Anns and Gabe with us to Element Church and meet up with their dad and then head out with him and Katie to see first hand the house they have put a bid on to purchase after they are married in April. The pictures are of a very nice older home with fantastic amenities and landscaping. We will meet with her parents and do a walk through with them after lunch out together. Should be an exciting day as they make plans for their future together and see the happiness on his face with a loving mate. We are thrilled for them, LATER

Saturday Morning

Well Friday was a busy day that started with some much needed and at times very hard down pour of rain. I mean it was a "gully washers" if we were in the mountains but here in Seminole it was a "river in the street" kind of rain. The roof at the Rec even leaked in several spots into the gym floor where we were playing pickle ball kind of rain. By late morning the rain had moved on and the sun came out and the temps warmed up into the 70's making it a perfect day for being outside. You would never have know it rain all morning.

I started the day with my usual 6'ish roll out and then my routines of honoring my Creator with a few quiet moments to give thanks and humble myself in the Word and do my daily discipline for personal growth before getting ready to head out to the Rec for an hour and half of pickle ball play. I drove this morning as it was pouring rain plus I had GG's car and had to pick her up around 10'ish to drive her to several appointments while Nancy was at her Friday morning Bible study. We had a full crowd at the Rec and I had a good work out with a good sweat.

I picked up GG and then took her to her hair salon after the Rec and then headed for the library and waited for her call to be picked up. We then headed for Home Depot to pick up a flapper for her commode and then headed back to her place where I exchanged the flapper. I left her and headed home to have lunch with Nancy. The sun was out and the air had warmed up and we wondered if the Ross Family made it to Busch Gardens for a family day. We later learned they had a great time and the park wasn't packed at all due to the earlier rain. I picked up GG around 1:30 and we headed to her bank and met with her broker and checked on her accounts. This young man seems to have a handle on her stocks and her portfolio which he manages for her benefit at a small yearly fee. She seemed satisfied with his decisions and of course now is not the time to be investing in the market with it being so volatile.

We headed to the veggie stand after the bank and picked up fresh tomatoes both ripe and green ones as well as some corn on the cob and avocado's. I dropped GG off at home and headed home myself. I felt like a taxi driver for most of the day but did help GG out with all of her errands. Well we fried up the green tomato's for supper and along with the corn and a nice mess of fresh green beans from the garden. It was all fresh veggie's for the day as we ate salad for lunch. After the cleanup we settled into the FOX cable news and O'Reilly. The main stream media is concerned with Trump's high poll numbers which tells me a lot of Americans are waking up to the fact they are dissatisfied with how this present government is being run and want some radical changes. I concur as well and we need someone from outside the established politicians which promise but never deliver. Trump is making a big difference and those in power are running scared because of his"telling it like it is" method. It's about time we had someone who can't be bought off by the special interests crowd in D.C.

Well I tuned into the Gold Rush reality show after my shower and must have fallen asleep towards the end so I turned out the lights for some horizontal lab around 10ish, LATER

Friday Morning

Well Thursday found us once again with a rather chilly morning to start the day and by late evening it had warmed up considerably as we were expecting another front with some rain and then once again much cooler temps over the weekend. We had the heat to come on several times through out the day but nothing like the cold up at the cabin or in Virginia where it was down below freezing.

I started the day with my usual roll out before 6 and then my routines of a few quiet moments to honor my Creator and then to my daily discipline for personal growth. I'm finding out a lot about myself with this daily journey of what makes me the way I am and how I could better myself with some adjustments. I'm really into this short 5-10 minute thought progress that instills wisdom into my daily life and of the decisions I ultimately make.

I got ready for my ride out to the Rec on the bike after posting this daily ramble and an apple for breakfast.  It was a cold ride on the bike with the wind causing my eyes to water from the cold. We had 3 courts in action for pickle ball and I had a good run for an hour and half with several different partners and actually worked up a sweat doing so. After my allotted time I set for myself of an hour or so and then finally losing a game, I decided to head home. The temps had warmed up nicely but it still required a light jacket as the wind shifted from the north to the east.

I piddled around in the garden and hand watered it as well for an hour or so before heading in. Amy and Eliza Faye were coming for lunch and we doctored up 2 frozen pizzas with extra toppings of fresh mushrooms and cheeses. Wow were they ever delicious. Eliza was so funny and is growing up so fast as she likes for someone to be in the room with her when she plays with the doll house or when watching one of her favorite movies. I sat with her and read while she wiggled around on the couch watching a movie. After they left I read for a couple hours while Nancy walked the hood. We decided to eat light for supper with just a salad for me and cereal for her as we were meeting for our weekly small group at the Botbyl's. We did a DVD on the Truth Series from Focus on the Family and this professor is so knowledgeable as he relates to us the sociology of GOD's plan for mankind. Very interesting and while we learned that everything GOD created was good we learned that it was not good for man to be alone, so he created Eve, so in comes the bigger picture with a woman into the creation and all that entails in the story of mankind.

Well we got back to the house around 8:30 and I wanted to watch the debate between the Republican candidates and I was somewhat encouraged they all agreed the country was on the wrong path with this administration under the inept leadership of this potus. A few had some great ideas on how to start turning this country around and I was happy to hear the honoring of our constitution was a great start. Our founding fathers were very smart in establishing this document to be governed by as they were once under the constraints of a one man's rule. We must never allow that to happen here in this democracy as this potus has tried to do with his executive orders and disregard for the laws that have set us apart from the rest of the world. I was thrilled to hear that some candidates reiterated our people were under the Judeo-Christian principles that were part of our heritage and not some made up fallacy of being all inclusive to those who worship a prophet that kills for not becoming a part of their theology.

Any of those men on the stage would be good for America and some would be better than others and especially better than the corrupt leadership of a Clinton who has been less than honest with honoring America's classified intelligence. I think she will be indicted for her role in Benghazi and for lying about the e-mails that allowed our classified information to be intercepted or at least that is my desire for her as she let 4 American's perish then lied about what happened to their families. Well I was an hour late getting to the horizontal lab, LATER

Thursday Morning

Well Wednesday found us once again with cool temps and mostly overcast skies. It didn't get much out of the 50's the entire day and the north wind was constant which made the temp's feel even cooler. I did get in some pickle ball and a little garden work and we had GG over for supper. I did a few small odd jobs for her as well.

The morning started out with a 6 'ish roll out for me. Nancy slept in until it was nearly time for me to head out a little before 8 for the Rec. My morning routines included a few quiet minutes with my Creator and then my 90 day's of daily discipline for personal growth. I really like this work book and how the daily thoughts give you some different ways of considering your approach to situations in life. It's very profound. I got ready for a cold ride to the Rec on my bike after having an apple for breakfast. We had 3 courts in action and a couple new players from the frozen north who are here for the winter. I had a great hour and half workout without leaving the pickle ball court. Most of these players are a B players but the attitude is so much better than when we had only A players. Most of them have moved on to other venues with one occasionally coming by to play and complain about the number of players. We have very few beginners and the ones who were learning have really improved their games. It's enjoyable to working out again and not having to hear the grumbles from the A players who must win at all costs and easily are critical of plays and players.

I stopped off at the library for a couple new reads afterwards on the way home as that is just about what I do in the afternoon after Amy leaves. I did pick another nice mess of green beans and then fed my new seedlings which are trying to grow. This cooler temps have slowed them down somewhat but the leafy greens are loving this weather. The snow or sugar peas are blooming their beautiful white blossoms. The 'maters are loaded with green ones but none seem to be turning. We had some fried green 'maters for an appetizer with supper and they are so delicious. I now love them the way Nancy prepares them. I bought them at the veggie stand as my 'maters are the the teardrop style and size which are great for salads but not big enough to fry, oh well!

We had GG for supper so we celebrated with a glass of vino, fried green 'maters and linguine with shrimp in a garlic butter sauce and a salad. It was much like shrimp scampi but oh so delicious. Well the diet suffered but what a way to go! I now have green peppers big enough to pick from the plants I brought back from the mountain garden and also the cabbages are heading up enough to where we can cut one for cold slaw for Eliza's birthday supper on Saturday with all of the family. Ann's and Gabe will be there and will spend the night with their cousins the Ross kiddos. After the cleanup we started to settle into the news when a message came on the TV to "please wait" which was annoying and took up nearly a third of the screen. So we had to reprogram the cable box which took nearly a half hour with the cable company but finally we got that fixed. You never know when these electronic's go on the blink and for what appeared no reason.

Nancy took GG home and then we settled in to learn were this potus and his new sec. of state John Kerry who along with another traitor in Vietnam, Jane Fonda is once again appeasing the Iranians after they captured for a day 10 American sailors from international waters after what was supposedly a mechanical break down of their small boats. We are the laughing stock of the world with this administration whose leader is in Lah-lah land with his almost laughable foreign policies if it wasn't so serious that he is selling us down the river on the world stage. His state of the union address of which was excerpted at times on the news broadcasts really puts him in a delusional class of his own. There is no doubt the Iranians are showing the world that we are no longer a force to be reckoned with as only this potus is worried about his legacy which is so much worse than Jimmy Carter's ever was and Carter's was very bad.

Well I tuned into the Idol Show after O'Reilly then hit the showers. It wasn't long afterwards the sandman calleth and I turned the "lights out as the party was over" as Dandy Don Meridith use to say on Monday Night Football many years ago, LATER

I almost forgot to mention today the 13th our newest grand daughter Eliza Faye Ross was born . She is such a blessing to us and is oh so smart as she is learning her ABC's and counting at the age of two. We will have a big celebration on Saturday at her house with all the cousins, GG and us. Tyler is smoking a turkey and then afterwards the kiddos will all bunk together for a sleep over. We will bring them back to Tampa on Sunday and attend Element Church.

Wednesday Morning

Well Tuesday was another chilly day with temps into to the low 40's to start the day and it may have reached the upper 50's by day's end. At least the wind died down to just a gentle breeze which made things a little more tolerable. There was plenty of sunshine which helped to make it feel warm as well. We did run the heat a few times during the night.

The day started much the usual with a 6 'ish roll out and then my routines before I headed out to the Rec on my bike for some hour and half of pickle ball after my quiet time and my now daily discipline workbook. We had three courts in action with a challenge court for over an hour, so I got in a good solid hour of play with never setting down. The knee feels great so I will continue with playing every day but the weekend but keep it to just and hour and a half of play.

Well I didn't do a whole lot after getting back from the Rec as it was still chilly outside so I piddled around on the computer and then read for the rest of the morning until it was time for Amy, GG and Eliza Faye to come for lunch. Afterwards Eliza and I played together, read books and watched cartoons on the laptop. She is becoming quite the character as she now loves to carry a purse while pushing her babies in a stroller and has an old remote for her cell phone. What an imagination.

I did head out to hand water the gardens after it warmed up a little in the afternoon sun. Nancy took her mother, GG shopping so I read while she was gone. I shucked fresh corn on the cob and grilled ground deer for burgers thanks to our mountain neighbor Gerald. Wow was that ever a tasty supper and I have enough for lunch tomorrow. The spare tire is still staying somewhat deflated with my weight holding at close to a 10 pound loss since I cut out a lot of carbs, eating smaller portions and staying away from my daily glass of red vino with the exception of a very small glass once a week for medicinal purposes.

After the cleanup, we settled into the FOX Cable news and learned the Iranians are taking advantage of our lack of leadership on the world scene(along with everyone else). I started to watch the speech by this potus and could not stomach it. He is such an arrogant liar and has no regard for the country except for destroying our culture and promoting the special interests crowd. The lack of leadership by this administration has US(A)  in peril with the rest of the world and especially with the back room deals with the Iranians that it's almost incredulous. Where are those in the congress who see what is being done to weaken us. I really think we need a revolution to oust this corrupt bunch including those in the other party in D.C.  I know lots of folks who have given our first black potus a pass on his contempt for the country and his lack of leadership but folks we are being destroyed and our allies in the world look at us as having no back bone in fighting the radical muslim jihadist. What is going on??

I don't know how anyone can not see what this administration is doing to the country by bankrupting the land, having open warfare on the police and promoting illegal immigration as well as distancing ourselves from our Judeo-Christian values of which we were founded on. Where have all of the common sense folks gone and now we are seeing the rise of socialism in a candidate for the presidency with another who is a blatant liar and money hungry and left Americans to die at the hands of the radicals in Libya. Why is not the main stream media reporting this crisis except for FOX News. We are blessed that Bill O'Reilly is on top of this corruption within our country and is not afraid to bring these who are ruining our nation to our attention,  LATER

Tuesday Morning

Well Monday saw us with chilly 40 degree temps to start the day and despite some sunshine it never really got much out of the 50's for the whole day. There was a breeze which made it feel even colder. We did turn the heat on a couple of times to take the chill off and again this AM it's nippy with 68 here in the house when I awakened. We headed too GG's for supper around 5:30 along with the Ross Gang and then after the clean up we headed home to watch Alabama beat Clemson in a good game for the national championship 45-40.

I started the day off much the usual with a 6'ish roll out. I did my morning routines of a few quiet moments with my Creator and daily discipline before getting ready to head out to the rec for some pickle ball. It was a cold ride on my bike with the north wind in my face. We had a good turnout with three courts in action and I worked up a good sweat in the hour and half I was there. The knee felt fine so I will head back again this morning for another hour plus session. I'm still maintaining the weight loss of nearly 10 pounds over the last week with portion control and elimination of a few food groups from my diet; but last night at GG's I had smashed taters' for the first time in several days as she prepared stuffed peppers, tatters, broccoli and a salad. I made myself stick to just one helpings of each which is very hard to do with her red sauce covering taters and peppers.

I did get a little garden work in after lunch when it warmed up slightly. I fed all of the seedlings and loosen up the soil as well after the hard rains over the weekend. I took off for the veggie stand as we needed slicing tomatoes as mine haven't begun to to ripen. I finished the last of the collards for lunch and my oh my were they ever delicious. I think they are even tastier after sitting a couple days in their juices. Amy, GG and Eliza came for lunch and they finished the left over beef vegetable soup which was perfect for this cool day. After they left to take GG home and pick up Ava and Sam from school I got into a new read about a murder in Aspen, Colorado titled GUILT BY MATRIMONY that took place a couple years ago of a socialite.

Well that was about it for this day and we now see in the news where more information is coming out about the nefarious Clinton's and their influence peddling while she was in a cabinet position that probably compromised our national security. We know for a fact her personal server where she conducted state department business was not secured in protecting our vital interests while she lied about that operation. I don't know how anyone could or would want to see someone of her less than honest character in a position to lead the country and look out for our interests. I know those who are always looking for a hand out and the special interests groups love her as she promises everything to and for them. I surely hope we have non political folks who will decide the truth from a through investigation into her dealings as well as bring closure to the four Americans who were left to die at her behest. I always have had a dislike for the Clinton Machine as so many unexplained deaths occurred with those associated with them and knew when he said "I never inhaled" they were liars from the beginning; but we have folks who are democrats who blindly stand with her. This party is nothing like the democrat party of old and I refused to accept their party leaders that began after McGovern was defeated. I too never cared for Nixon as he too violated my trust with his less than honest operation in while our potus. But he was small potatoes when compared to the Clinton's and this potus, LATER

Monday Morning

Well Sunday turned out to be a rather interesting day as we worshipped at Indian Rocks Church where both Bobby and Amy graduated from their high school, then we stayed around the house until 3'ish then headed over to the Salt Rock Grille on the beach to dine with our team leaders and friends with Amway. All of these in attendance were at the huge conference on Clearwater Beach of which we did not attend. We have made some great friends and fellow business partners in this organization that honors GOD as well.

The morning started with warm temps in the upper 60's. Nancy had the a/c on for awhile but as the day worn on I was afraid she was going to want the heat on. This morning it's in the upper 40's, yikes what a change. Well after our usual morning routines and my daily discipline we got ready to leave for worship around 8:45. Speaking of my daily discipline book the author of this book is also a huge Amway leader and we sat at the table with him and his wife at the grille. Skip and Susan Ross are lovely folks and both are motivational speakers traveling the world over as well as very strong CHRIST followers.

The pastor at IR Church delivered a message on political incorrectness and he set the foundation for the next several weeks on why our nation is showing signs of culture shock and why we are seeing such changes on what was once wrong and is now being viewed as acceptable. The basic premise is that society no longer views GOD as truth which in reality allows each person to decide what they think is truth. So of course when you have that philosophy then what ever displeases you can be justified as not being truth. That is why GOD has been taken out of our moral fiber within the culture and replaced with man's perception of the truth. Truth is no longer relevant to those who prescribe to this ideology thus there is no need for GOD'S word or the laws and standards set forth in the Bible. In essence we have become our own GOD and we no longer honor him and his teachings. Many things are now legal but not necessarily true or right such as abortion and gay marriage. We are very interested to hear in the next several weeks of messages on this insidious culture destroying issue(s) of political correctness.

We came back around 11:30 and chilled until 2:30 when we met up with the Botbyl's as they too went to the grille for supper. I watched about half of the frozen football game in Minnesota and they were winning when we headed out and eventually lost the game at the end with a missed kick. I know our friends in Hickory, N.C. were disappointed with that outcome but they can celebrate as they still have the Panthers to root for. I feel they are the team to beat and could "go all the way" to winning the super bowl. It was strange this week end as all home teams lost in the wild card playoff's which is usually the opposite.

Well tonight we see who is the best college team in football when Clemson meets up with Alabama for bragging rights this past season. I like both southern teams and while Clemson is a much smaller school and less nationally recognized in the past for its football program they have a great QB and should win this matchup, oh well I will write about it in the morning. I almost forgot to mention at the grill our son Bobby and his soon to be beautiful inside and out bride Katie were there as they both are Amway IBO's as are we. I dined on Ahi tuna seared slightly with fresh asparagus and I did have my first glass of merlot for the week along with fresh sliced strawberry's with a passion fruit sauce over a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Dan and I both had that and it was beautiful to look at but the flavor was the talk of the table as we shared spoonfuls. It was a dining experience and when we came out of the grille the temps had fallen several degrees on its way to a cool cloudy evening, LATER

Sunday Morning

Well Saturday saw us with a cool morning and some sunshine and by early afternoon it warmed up and then we had a lots of rain around 4 'ish that lasted well into the evening. It's supposed to be nice today but then the temps are supposed to drop down into the 40's at night with highs only reaching the low 60's for a few days this coming week, yeow what a change in the weather pattern, but at least it not in the frozen the North or back to the high 80's and 90's.

I started the day with my usual 6'ish roll out and my routines of spending a few quiet moments with my Creator being ever so grateful for the blessing on my family and then I did my daily discipline for personal growth and I'm finding it very helpful in my choices, goals and attitudes. Afterwards I posted this ramble and had an apple for breakfast to start the gastric juices flowing. The garden looked great with the dew still on the leafy greens so I pulled a couple dozen collards leafs and washed them before cutting them up for the pan. I then cut up a whole onion along with 1/2 pound of bacon and sauteed those two together before dumping it into the sauce pan with the chopped collards. I added a little apple cider vinegar and some red pepper flakes and let them simmer for the next 5-6 hours. They were marvelous in taste and melted in your mouth.

We took off on a hour hike through the hood and worked up a sweat. The sun was shining brightly but the nice soft breeze was delicious. We kept the house open until late evening when Nancy felt we needed to dry out all the moisture from the evening rain so the a/c is back on for now. The Tracy's came around 3'ish with a huge salad as did the Botbyl's with a pot of spaghetti squash. I put on bone-in pork chops on thr grill and along with the collards we feasted around 4:30. Yikes that was some fine down home cooking and eatin'. We stayed away from our usual appetizers and vino as we all are trying to lose some weight and really we had leftovers from all of the dishes, so they weren't needed. This morning I was down to 181 in just 5 days of eating differently without appetizers or snacks and no alcoholic beverages. Today, Sunday we are eating out at the Salt Rock Grille so I will probably have a glass of vino but stay away from the carbs.

Well we tuned into the playoff games and neither were very exciting as the first game we were rooting for the Chiefs and they blew the Texans away and the second game looked as if the Steelers were destroying the Bengals when I turned the lights out. The Bucs fired their head coach so we are looking for a new leader. I wish we could just fire the potus as he is a terrible leader as well and start over with some one with some love for this nation and the folks within. We will survive but at a great cost as most Americans love their freedoms and liberties which was bought at a high price. Whenever you doubt the love of these folks for their country you must wonder through the national cemeteries throughout this land. I continue to call on my fellow military personnel, law enforcement officers and lovers of GOD to stand up to those secular progressives who have deemed it fit to destroy our culture by electing unfit and unqualified folks into government leadership. Wake Up America!

Well take a few hours today and gather with other Believers and stand up for our Judeo-Christian beliefs and honor GOD with your attendance in a church. Remember Jesus said "where two or more are gathered in my name I'm with you". We have allowed our culture to be inundated with those who make mockery of the very foundations our nation was founded on. These sympathizers of radical muslim terrorists are evident with this present potus and his advisors and their goal is destroy the country because of their ideology, LATER

Saturday Morning 9th of January

Well Friday was a fun day with some pickle ball in the morning and then some honey-do jobs and I got in some reading as well. We had a large lunch crowd and then I opened the windows as the cool morning quickly turned to bright sunshine and a warm breeze. A beautiful winter day in Florida.

The day started with my usual 6'ish roll out and then a few quiet moments with my Creator and daily discipline for personal growth. I will say one promising thing about this daily exercise is that it's giving me some support for the decision to lose 10 pounds or more and rid myself of this spare tire. I like how it challenges you with common sense solutions that we sometime take for granted and of course that is with most all decisions in life. I think we need to be reminded at times of these decisions we need to make regarding our goals and how to achieve them. After the posting of this ramble I grabbed a Fuji apple for my breakfast and then got ready to ride out to the Rec on my bike for an hour and a half of pickle ball play.

There were three courts in action and I pretty much stayed on the court the whole time I was there as the winners split and then got new partners. I had a good workout but still didn't overdo it while limiting myself to this time frame. I think next week I will go every day but limit the time to just an hour or so. I stopped off at the library to pick up a new read titled 90 CHURCH that I had on order. It'a a true read about a notorious narcotics squad in New York and an autobiography about a young man who wanted to help clean up the streets of the drug trade in the country. If your squeamish it's not a read for you but if your into double dealing and even murder to accomplish your goal you will find this book exhilarating and at times gut wrenching. The title of the book is the street where these agents had a headquarter. At times they worked with other agencies like the local police and the FBI but they were mainly a rogue bunch with some rogue agents who even infiltrated the mafia. Their main object was to take the drugs off the street whether by hook or less than honorable means.

Well I grilled Salmon for supper loaded with spices and fresh dill along with a garden salad and fresh green beans. I've dropped several pounds and while that number fluctuates daily the number is dropping down from the 191 mark. I've cut out a lot and I'm eating less portions as well. The added exercise seems to help but I miss my daily glass of red vino which is probably the main reason I would have second portions. It's definitely a stimulater for the appetite.

Well we settled into the FOX News cable network after the cleanup for our real info on whats happening on the world scene. This next election will probably we the most significant in many years as it will decide whether we become a nation of socialist or go back to the tenets of capitalism. Europe tried the socialist method and it failed completely as it breeds contempt for those who work hard and do well and laziness to those who want the government to care for them while taking away from those who succeed. I really don't see any difference between a socialist and a democrat and their party leader couldn't explain the difference when asked the other day. This potus has ruined the land with his executive orders while subverting our constitution which granted rights to all the people, but we have those who in the media who are influenced by less than honorable billionaires like George Soros who want to see America destroyed so they and their sycophants can dictate anything but the Judeo-Christian values. The horrific shooting by a radical terrorist of an officer in Philly is jut another example of how this administration has played down the threat of the radical muslims influence in the nation. I only hope we can survive this next 12 months with this incompetent man in the white house as commander in chief and as one who has helped to cause so much unrest. The country is in a mess and only with some provincial help will we survive as a nation undivided, LATER

Friday Morning

Well Thursday didn't have a whole lot going on. The weather was a bit nippy in the early hours but the sun finally showed itself sometime around lunch time and it warmed up enough to open a few windows. I piddled around in the garden and yard and got in a little reading afterwards. Nancy was at her mom's for lunch with Amy and Eliza as they took down her Christmas decorations and packed them up for another year. We had our small group coming at 6:30 to start a new year off with the Truth Series.

The day started out with me up and about a little before 6'ish. After my usual routines of a few quiet moments and my daily discipline I posted this ramble then headed outside to check on the gardens with an apple for breakfast. I picked green beans again as Nancy was making a vegetable soup for supper. I also picked some huge cabbage leaves to add to the pot as well as some fresh parsley all from the garden. The cucumbers failed for some reason and at first I thought nematodes were the root cause( no pun intended) but the roots looked healthy. It could have been all of this hot weather but anyhow they died as did my neighbors the Botbyl's. The same scenario occurred with their cukes. I finished up the romaine lettuce and now I'm just waiting to transplant the Simpson lettuce into the garden. The sugar peas are finally blooming and have nearly climbed to the top of the chain link fence. I sowed some more peas a couple days ago in the new area. I'm not sure if they will make as the seeds are couple years old.

I took the leaf blower and got up on the roof and cleaned off the sticks, twigs and leaves which are constantly deposited there from both huge oaks that border the house.  Afterwards I settled into a few small projects before eating a light lunch of the last of the sauerkraut. So far eating light with no snacks have resulted in losing another pound or so. I did indulge with the vegetable beef soup with two bowls but no break or crackers. Nancy shared some of the soup with our small group as well as we always get talking about food. Our topic from the Truth series was on history and how it's be revision by this new progressive culture. It's amazing how much our founding fathers had written into our very beginnings the necessity to include GOD in all that we did as a nation. The pilgrims came here to promote the love of Christ and included him in all that was done but historians have taken that theme away with the rewriting of the birth of our start and why we came here in the first place. It's very true that if you change what happened in the past you can control what happens in the future and we see that happening every day, especially so in the present USA.

There is no mention of any other religion but only that we came here to be able to worship GOD and follow the Judeo-Christian beliefs that gave us freedom from the the church of England when the Mayflower let the Pilgrims off at Plymouth. Our present potus has destroyed that fact by introducing the theme that muslims were involved in our very beginnings. The love of Jesus Christ was the hope for the new world by our original settlers and this was written into the very fabric that held this new world together both politically and culturally. Our children are not taught this by the secular progressives who have gotten control of our culture through political correctness and revisionist history. It's sad to see the very teachings of Christ are no longer viable for our nation and are being erased. There is some areas of the nation that have taken on the muslim faith with sharia law and now even a muslim judge has been sworn into office on the Quran. We had better wake up and see what is happening to this country before we have been totally over run by these who are changing our love for mankind through the belief in Jesus and is teachings, LATER

Thursday Morning

Well Wednesday was a little warmer to start the day some where in the low 50's which is perfect and it may have reached the upper 60's by late afternoon. There was plenty of sunshine to start the day but clouds moved in towards evening and the temps dropped a little. Nancy did run the heat to take the chill off the house just before supper. It was a morning of pickle ball and then the  rest of the morning and afternoon saw me with cleaning carpets and fans. I worked on my spare tire with eating sparingly and no snacks and just a salad for supper and it seemed to have paid off as with the exercise and being on my feet most of the day as I dropped a few pounds.

The day started with a 6'ish rollout which has been the norm for me for several months with an occasional sleep in, but that's rare. I did my quiet time with my Creator and then my daily discipline for personal growth and I love this book and the 10 minutes or so it takes a day to read and then commit to answer the question. You can find this book and this author at www.thrivestudy.com. Skip Ross is the author and I know him personally along with his family. Check out the website and look for the Daily Discipline book.  My son Bobby has done some work with Skip and Melody his daughter is the editor for Bobby's EPIC OF HAVEN trilogy. After my few moments and then the posting of this ramble I had an apple for breakfast and got ready to ride my bike out to the Rec. for an hour and half of pickle ball play. I had a good sweat with a wet shirt and limited myself this week to just three days and no more than and hour and a half to get back into shape. The knee seems to be holding up well.

I came back and Nancy was getting ready to leave with Carol and Kathryn for a day of shopping in Tampa and then lunch out with them. I vacuumed the house then got out the carpet cleaner and commenced to steam cleaning the carpets. Wow, what a difference that made especially with all of grand kiddos, family dinners and all of the holiday traffic. That kept me busy for a couple of hours. I then decided to clean the kitchen fan and tighten up a couple of the dining room chairs. Afterwards I headed out to sow some more sugar peas and then feed the recently transplanted onions and lettuce seedlings.

Nancy got back somewhere around 3'ish from her trip to Tampa. She was amazed at how clean the carpets looked as well as the fan looked brand new. I skipped my 4 o'clock glass of vino and peanut snack as I was blown away with how much the scales reported I had gained over the holidays. I'm definitely going to change that and I will miss my red vino but it must be done as well as stay away from the breads, chips and combinations of starch and proteins. I was pleasantly surprised when I tipped the scales at my shower time a few pounds lighter than the day before. Exercise and eating lightly really made a difference of about 4-5 pounds in one day.

Well after a supper of a garden salad and then the cleanup we settled into the FOX News cable channel to check up on what is really happening in the world. This is the only news channel I watch because they do report the truth and are not sycophants of the present administration which they helped to get elected. I'm so fed up with politics and those inside the beltway in D.C. The world is going to "hell in a hand basket" and this potus is worried about climate change and restricting our rights to the second amendment while the Koreans are now rattling sabers with wanting to become a world game changer and we the USA is doing nothing. The next president will be paying his whole tenure trying to straighten out the mess this potus and Hillary have created with their incompetency and kowtowing to these who want to destroy US, oh well!! Lets hope we still have a country with some liberties and freedoms after they are gone hopefully this next year, Wake up America, LATER
